I hate how every job I get they threaten to fire and sue you if you discuss your wage. Too bad I'm in Canada and all our politicians are so corrupt and the populace so compliant that nothing ever changes (besides more money for Quebec).

Suppose it could be worse... at least we arn't digging ourselves into debt.

I am a women and I think it's unfair because I see thousands of places were women are treated better then males. If a women get's fired then they could easily say the people fired them because they were female. Nowadays I think we are most racist to the white males. >.>

I agree, this would be a fantastic bill, but I would like Hilary to give more attention to other reasons for why people don't receive equal pay, such as race.

In response to a comment below, perhaps people of color and women "get plenty of things" to compensate for male and white privileges.

Yes, we need to give women equal pay. We need to give minorities equal pay. Everyone should have equal pay. People still forget that the white male gets screwed practically everywhere else, though. Going to an extremely racially mixed school like I do, I see tons of African-American kids, Asian kids, Hispanic kids, Women and more getting scholarships. Why do they get them? Because they are minorities. Theres plenty of other things that minorities get just for being minorities.

I'm glad you are working on an act that will make it against the law to fire someone for talking with fellow employees about how much their salary is. I always found that an odd rule.

Although I'm not a woman, I greatly support equal rights and because I work in a restaurant, I do see a lot of women who work just as hard, and often harder than men and are not commended.

It is a tragedy that it has taken until now for women to really start getting power in the world. We now have Germany, Chile, Liberia, Latvia, Finland and the Phillipenes led by women, and France has it's first woman witha serious chance of getting the Presidency.
