  • Growl-hoo-ha!

  • I reseted a game with 167 shinys

  • i'm SRing a shiny Ho-oh on HG

  • Lol my brother was on my diamond walking around in tall grass looking for cresselia when all of a sudden..... A wild shinx appeared! It's now a luxray so yeah.....

  • good to hear dialga is ur favorite between dialga and palkia...i hate palkia and love dialga.....

  • I SRed to get a shiny Groudon once, the game's save data got corrupted though. That pissed me off.

I'm on Pokemon Black right now, SRing for a shiny Landorus.

  • pro!

  • Nice IV's, but could of been better, the Sp. Atk was great though.

  • how many soft resets you did?

  • how many SR?

  • @lalaviv99 he could have gotten it in a trade

  • my shiny swampert's name is bubbles :D

  • Thats pretty ironic you caught the ruler of time with a timer ball.

  • why does it show that you have alreay caught dialga?

  • Was the other Dialga already in my party.. that hard to notice? (Go to 4:38)

I transferred it over from another copy of Pokémon, which is why it is already registered as owned.

Despite what the Manual suggests, the Poké Ball icon by the wild Pokémon's name indicates that it has been previously OWNED, this doesn't necessarily mean that the player caught it; Traded and Wonder Card Gift Pokémon count too.

  • yo bro nice gratz :p btw i need some help well first of all how do you soft reset i know it sounds stupid but i might be doing it wrong >.> basicly i save infront of giratina example and keep turning ds on and off till shiny pops up? and second what does IV stand for xD thanks.

  • You can soft-reset by simultaneously pressing L+R+START+SELECT for DS games, or A+B+START+SELECT for GBA games. Your method is right, only instead of turning the DS off and on via the power button, you would press the appropriate button combination to quickly reload your game.

You might already know, but you have to battle the Pokémon to see if it is Shiny or not. This is because their attributes are not generated until you initiate the battle.

And "IV" stands for "Individual Value".

  • @halcyonXlll You mean you just have to attack it or you have to just send out your pokemon?

  • @halcyonXlll

does tht work with out action replay??

  • how did you get a breeloom?!?!?!?!?!?1 i need one

  • I Kno But How Did U Hold It On Wun Hand And Play Or Keep It Stiil

  • . . .

Well.. I wasn't holding it, both the camera and the DS were set on a flat surface.

  • Yo How did you record youre screen ??

  • With a camera, of course. I was playing this on an actual DS after all, not an emulator.

  • hey guys i am wondering i just caught dialga with jolly nature but i really wanted shiny so i'm wondering should i keep trying to get a shiny dialga or should i keep dialga with jolly nat and ev train him? please help me!

  • dude... you can catch it way easier with duskballs...

  • No, I couldn't have; this Dialga was met during the morning. I wanted it in a Timer Ball anyway.

  • yea u could cuz i got it burned and and used dusk ball and got it in 1 try.

  • Ugh.. No, Dusk Balls have the same effectiveness as a standard Poké Ball if used during the day. Timer Balls also have the same effectiveness for the first few turns, so really there wouldn't have been any difference in performance.

  • i kno why...because it is the deity of time am i right?

  • wow your lucky i resetted like a million times and have still none

  • to softrest to get a legendary you just save in front of it right

  • how could you know if it is a shiny dialga

  • Before you battle it?.. You can't. Unless you... No, never mind.

.. But in battle? You simply have to look at it.

The colour differences between a normal and Shiny Dialga are distinctive enough. And not to mention the sparkles which emanate from the Pokémon, along with the accompanying ping-like sound -- those are always a dead give away.

  • then what is soft reset ??

  • will it work if you stand right in front of it then soft reset?

  • That's where one would generally be positioned when soft-resetting for a Pokémon, yes..

(Unless your somewhat vague question is trying to ask, can you see if it is Shiny -before- the battle? It won't be; you must enter battle against it to determine that).

  • awsome congratz! i have SR 4 shiny piplup like 1500 times :s

  • How long did that take you?

  • About three days, as the video description suggests ;3

  • Platinum is Legendary :3

  • dialga looks way cooler in shiny form!!

  • Damn lucky ^^ Mine's taking over 4k xD

  • How long would you say a normal soft reset takes when going for a shiny?

  • That would change depending on the Pokémon (some have a longer pre-battle scene), how soon you choose to SR, and the version of the game that you are playing.

The times below are approximate, and assume you SR the moment you see the Pokémon gliding across the screen in battle.

    FR/LG: Legendary Birds ~14 sec. ¦ Deoxys ~24 sec.

RSE: Rayquaza ~11 sec. ¦ Southern Island Lat@s ~17 sec.

DPPt: Lake Trio ~24 sec. ¦ Regigigas ~28 sec.

[Game version: Quick encounter Pkmn ¦ Slow encounter Pkmn]

  • Alright thanks for the help

  • omg 3 SRs? I bet no one is ever as lucky as that!

  • how do you get Dialga to appear? idk how, Do you need to get national Dex or what?

  • you need the national dex and the adamant orb (lustrious orb for palkia)

  • I found shiny Zubat and got it at 1HP then use pokeball then i got level 100 Crobat Shiny!

  • OMG it is so pretty as a shiny!

  • how do u encounter this one as a shiny?

  • save in front of it (which should be a reflex to any player who confronts a legendary/gift pokemon), then battle. if its not shiny, then soft reset ("SR" by pressing L+R+Select+Start). If its not shiny again, then repeat.

simple process, but keep in mind that your chances are 1/8192, so this requires TONS of patience. i've tried many times to soft reset for shinies but i just cant wait that long lol. it can take 2 minutes or even 2 years :p pokeradar is a much easier method

  • lucky today i went up in the hopes of getting a shiny dialga by sr i decided to give up on him and just catch him normally then i did the same for palkia 1 2 3 then a shiny came up well i wish i caught him but i accidentaly made him faint i was pissed off

  • A very good quality video :O. Do you have an awesome camera? Congrats on this cool shiny. My latest is a shiny Gastly at random while EV training my Heatran. The video will be posted tomorrow.

  • How you get a shiny type pokemon???

  • It is a random occurrence. There is a 1/8192 chance of encountering a Shiny Pokémon in the wild, hatching one from an egg or even receiving one as a gift Pokémon (such as the Eevee from Bebe, it is possible for these to be Shiny too).

Travel around in the grass, caves or water and battle lots of wild Pokémon. Maybe you will get lucky and meet a rare-coloured one.. Do make sure you are stocked up on Poké Balls though - you don't want to find one and be unable to catch it.

  • Just have a question could a shiny pokémon come in those nintendo pokémon events cause I have a regigigas waiting to be picked up in the pokémart and I've been soft-resetting for about 4 month now but no luck.

  • Definite no. With the exception of the WCS/VGC Milotics (which are always Shiny), no currently released Wonder Card Event Pokémon can be Shiny.

This restriction does not include the three in-game event Pokémon (Flower Paradise Shaymin, New Moon Darkrai, Hall of Origin Arceus).

  • how do you get dialga from the blue portal im pressing a but nothing is coming no battle help

  • whats sr

  • Soft reset. press L + R + start + select

  • Congrats on Getting shiny dialga so quick! Are you now SRing for Palkia?

  • Not immediately, no. I thought I would train my Shiny Dialga before proceeding with that.

  • What is this "Soft Reseting" anyway and how do you do it?

  • Pressing the L, R, START and SELECT buttons on the DS will cause it to reset to the title screen of the currently loaded game. This is known as a 'soft-reset', which is a quicker means of reloading the game than turning the console off and then on again via the power switch.

In Pokémon, soft-resetting is useful for finding Shinies of one-of-a-kind Pokémon such as Dialga. Save in front of the Pokémon and enter battle with it; if it isn't Shiny, then reset and rebattle it until it is.

  • awsome congrates

  • Someone got WAY lucky.

    Congrats :D

  • Congratulations! I have a shiny Palkia from my pearl version. It took me three days to get!

  • can u turn off the game while soft ressetting cuz i sr 102 times

  • Yes you can turn off the game

  • Congrats on the shiny Dialga. I'll be SRing for one in Platinum.

  • Awesome, i'll be doing this as well!(if giratina shines that is...)

  • Damn awesome shiny! I'm SRing for one on Diamond... and Giratina on Platinum.
