This was the movie short that was shown to Lionsgate so they could make Saw 1. It became a huge hit and now is the greatest horror franchise of all time (box office wise). I am a big fan and I cant wait for the story to go full circle in Saw 3D, the final Saw movie.

the saw-movies aren't really based on this one. actually the script of saw was already completed, before they decided to make this short film. it's just a lightly altered part of the script and they filmed it for the producers, so they could see how it should look in the end.

@Destruction555666 this are two completely different movies. saw 0,5 (with leigh as david) is broadcast on television only to watch, wheter it pleases the spectators. the people like it, because of that would made a real movie (saw 1 with leigh as adam). all saw-films are based on this short movie. I don't think Adam ever did die, Cause i believe its in saw 3 or 4 is that they show Amanda going back for him to help him.
