Lol I did not know fish were monsters thx for the Info I would give u info on how to fish but all the comments are already about that so:) good luck next time
and is here is why you lost it. 1.) NEVER grab the line.. 2.) 10lb line is able to keep a big fish. IF you dont keep reeling, and back away from the water...... 3.) why did you just keep reeling? once that fish goes away from you, let it.... thats what DRAG is for...... Now with all this in mind, smack that dumb ass that grabed the line for me.... please.
Next time try letting him fight a bit longer and tire him out, Looked like you kept realing and realing when he was stripping line. Next time let him pull then when he stops pull up real down, pull up real down and if he taks off just let him pull more line. Thats what I do when I have a 40lb + king salmon on with 20 lb test line. Also You should have smacked the dumb ass that grabbed your line :D You NEVER grab the line like that, thats most likely why he got off. To bad it got away though :(
nice try. But when you're reeling dont back away from the water when bringing him in, it would be better to move forward and use that rod while reeling.......also (seeing as you already know now lol) dont grab the line!
@primeval003 If you mind a tip. Mono filament stretches and tends to tangle easily. If you continue to use Mono filament put a weight at the end and cast about 6 times it will untwist the line and help you out.
Was a nice fish but as said it was grabbing the line that broke the line and just keeping reeling didn't help the cause.Next time tighten the drag a bit but not to the point of locking it down and let the fish run a little then reel him then repeat and you will get the big fish.Oh and tell your friend not to grab line.....LOL....Was still a great fish and know you enjoyed the fight while it lasted.
ok first off ppl try to do this to me when i have a big flat head on but oh hell no i just send my brother down to net it cause my 13 year old brother knows how to fish better than them 2 god neve grab the line never keep reeling and never horse the fish in damn
ahahaha ths wat ya gey for pulling on the line.. never pull on the line wen u have a fish on.. ull jux give more tension to the line itll snap right off
wow... the only time you grab line like that is maybe if you were fishing braid and the line you were grabbing was your leader... i imagine you were using monofilament, if you hadnt grabbed the line you would have been able to land the fish by dragging him up on the bank, sure it takes longer, but u also tire the fish out
Without a net, simply walk down into the water (if you have to) and gently pick the fish up through the gill plate if it's a larger northern or musky. You'll have to tire it out a bit before doing this, though, seeing as how you don't want a hot fish to snap the line. Pick it up, dehook it with the other hand, take a photo (if you can), and release it immediately. Looks like your drag was fine - the problem was that guy who grabbed the line and tried to force it in. Yeah, big no no.
for all the motherfuckers who keeps callin my cousin fat (the one realing) are all basterdes and i bet you woulndnt say it to his face!!Assholes I bet you are all geeks who keep you sayin hes fat are bigger than him so fuck u all!!
I think it may have been a small muskie or a large pike. The shallow west channel doesn't seem like primo walleye habitat....but one that big could have been in there. Fact is just upriver is Lake St. Clair which is stuffed with muskie and pike. If this was filmed mid summer I would bet on the pike or muskie. If it was spring I would go with walleye. Body shape (from what I can see) looks like a member of the pike family. The way it tried to throw the hook looked more like a pike or muskie too.
I would of ran out in the water and grabbed it by the gills, who the hell grabs the fishing line. But here is some words for the wise, God will never let anyone dumber than a fish disgrace his beauty by letting him catch it.
the fish is no more than 15lb and probably nearer 10lb so there was no need for a snap off..many people, including myself catch 10lb fish on 3lb casts when fly fishing. And the comment above is correct..if you are going to handline a fish then dont hold the line completely tight but allow for it to run out too.I am not sure (as we dont have em here) but Walleye probably have enough teeth to warrant using wire and Muskie certainly do(it wasnt a Muskie from my observation)..so think about wire too!
he did that shit on purpose. why would he do that. theres always a dipshit who cant catch fish but trys to teach u then ruins your catch. he broke the line. no, u broke the line
rule number 1 if someone grabes your line when you almost have it on the shoreline (scream and shout at person to let your line go) then punch him right in the face for costing you the catch of the day.
That's too bad guys, but one word of advise from someone who learned the hard way when I was young...Never grab the line. They'll break it 9 times out of 10...
i remeber i was at a paylake and my dude first off hooks into a fish and we have no net. in most paylakes you cant land a fish without a net but oh well i get down on my hands and knees and grab this fish from the water by actually grabing the fish...later on that night i hook into this huge ass fish and im like someone grab this fish what does he do? grabs the line and snap the thing was at least 40 lbs on my guess but i will never know since the dumb ass grabbed the line..
dumbass...first of all, the reel comes with a drag, use it...second of all, never grab the line when pullin the fish in, its gonna pop...loosen the drag and walk it in...
if the guy who grabed the line is ur father...the stupidnes is in ur family and u,little fat kid, are not guilty for your stupidnes.... thats the worst "drill" i've ever seen
so many people just keep reeling. they dont realize that twists your line to the point of making frays in the line aka week spots, which ends up being SNAP. lol jeez how do people who cant fish get lucky like

@primeval003 Sandeemos is right never just keep reeling always play the fish and wear him out especially if its that bid and i would know because i have caught 10 lb Rainbow Trout on 4 lb test line.
@primeval003 stfu kid you think hes not outa the house enough? your the one who weighs 400 pounds idiot and btw you cant reel worth shit you gotta lift up the pole than reel towards the fish not just keep on reeling...... and who cares of someone plays world of warcraft and posts it on their channel better than someone posting a shit video saying river monster when its like 5 pounds.
