the last few missions of this game are kinda sad/early/depressing etc. due to the fact that everything has completely changed. kelly? i think is his name (been awhile) is a sgt and everything is so different without hawk and all the guys. i agree with eldspartan all the way. this game is what makes me love learning about WWII to this day. this and cod 3 are my favorites when it comes to story mode. just so much behind it. still enjoy playing this from time to time.

true story, no joke: I got myself a black N-2B parka jacket off a military shop online, got myself the Big Red 1 and the U.S Army patch on another online shop and sewed the BR1 patch unto the LEFT side of the parka with the Army patch on the right. Why did i do that? Because of this game. That's why. And when i play either 1, 2, 3 or WAW, i wear that jacket. Besides, its autumn here and getting cold so its nice and cozy to wear anyways ^_^.

Makes me feel like I once was a ww2 hero,and then the modern warfare bullshit came out and ruined the franchise. this game had a sense of humor I actually got really really sad when my comrades died in this game cause they had what modern cod games don't have now.a character and a back story with their own sense of humors and complaints and pain. modern warfare 2 does'nt they just open their mouths to curse. what b.s.

I will agree. This is the best game in my opinion that I've ever played. It was the first Call of Duty game I ever played and the game had a sort of chemistry that naturally made you become attached to these characters. I felt sad at every step of the way when someone died in my squad, especially when Hawk died. I never saw that coming, he was the best soldier in the squad. And of course, I can't forget Brooklyn the joker. He made the squad come to life. I missed him in the last mission too...
