check out my baby baby tribute

  • I would agree most of his covers were as good as the original versions

  • frank >> MJackson

  • frankie lymon is a legand!

  • chibangin007 twat

  • Frankie Lymon was a great talent that died way too young. He rocked. R.I.P.

  • I would give any and EVERY "successful" artist for Mr.Lymon..its a damn shame the music industry is moving backwards instead of forwards.

  • junkie nigga with 3 stupid black women

  • @chibangin007 This is a beutiful song, you can only learn from. Do yourself a favour. Getsomebrain!

  • What a great cover of this song

  • my favorite version of this popular Frank Slay song is by Steve Gibson and his Redcaps....and the B side was one of the best songs recorded in the 50's called

    Flamingo...........

  • love the song, but was ther another verison?

  • Frankie was a genius , a very great voice !

  • such a powerful, rich, melodic voice!

  • FOR SOME REASON I ALWAYS FEEL MUSHY AFTER HEARING THIS.

wOW THIS MUSIC IS SO GOOD.rIP FRANKIE LIVES FOREVER.

  • OMG!!! HE COVERED BOTH (Paul Anka & The Ronettes) OF MY FAVOURITE SINGERS' SONG!!! AND HE DID DARN GREAT AT IT!! SPEECHLESS!

  • Is there a radio station that offer 50's music like this one ?

  • @tonypersian ww.sky.fm

  • @tonypersian In iTunes, click "Radio" on the left hand side. Select Golden Oldies, then select K-Luv Oldies.

  • Every song Frankie covered made the originls kick the bucket.

  • NICE!!!!

  • Franky will live forever in my book.

  • Guess what impact this song had on me, as a fifteen year old lovesick boy, waiting in wane outside his sweethearts window. Those silhouettes made me jealous and heartbroken. A lesson of life the hard way.

  • Incomparable voice. Incredibly control and sophistication for one so young. Maybe being able to sing doo wop should be a requirement before anyone can record. So many of us are hard to please because this is what we started out hearing regularly. So many good vocalists of all ages. We didn't realize we had so good when we did back then.

  • Had no idea he did this.. GREAT. I think Justin Beiber is going to do this. JUST KIDDING. All the good singers are long gone.

  • frankie's talent is timeless. why did america throw him under the bus?

  • I DON'T KNOW WHAT MORE TO SAY ABOUT FRANKIE,BUT HE WAS JUST TOO AWESOME.IT'S FUNNY HOW PROPOGANDA CAN RUIN SOMEONE'S LIFE.I THINK THERE IS A COVER UP.HMMMMM

  • I like this song. This is a beautiful version like the others but i prefer the "Silhouettes" sang by the divine Paul Anka :D

  • Miss you Frankie RIP

  • the godfather

  • such a sweet voice

  • i'm 20 and my frens laugh at me for knowin these songs..they dnt kno wat theyre missin man,

  • @Hotness876

Don't worry about that - I started loving such music when I was 10; let them laugh! ;@)

  • frankie's voice was amazing i dnt kno how he did it!!!

  • @lilpims21 lmao..i didn't know what he said at first either

  • @lilpims21 no, its a vocal hiccup style technique, like he is breaking the word "woah" into syllables

  • frankie was the best of the doo wop era

  • ]'x i cried on hiz moviee.....ughh why did he use drugz......i wsh he waz alive and making more musicc.......rest in peace :'D

  • even after all these years i still find it hard to play my 45s of his and buddy hollys as well ,the shock is still w me ,im ashamed to say ive got over the passings of loved ones easier.

  • his voice is up there with best

  • now you know where MJ got his idea how to entertain...

  • @emb1st If there was no Frankie Lymon there would be no MJ.

  • what is the song of frankie lymon the one that hey used in a pancake commercial

  • brill

  • Wow, he could sing!

  • top track .love it

  • Still saddens me heart to realize he died so very young.

  • very good

    fantastic

  • very good music

  • @twt6389 YAY!! I'm sorry, I know this may be weird but I am in love with Frankie! I guess I am like most women who love him, just listening to his sweet voice melts our hearts. Damn, I wish I was around during the 50s & 60s. My family is from Harlem so I would have had a shot at him. That dumb ass Erima let him go to NY alone. I dont buy it that she didn't know he was a recovering addict, everyone knew that.

  • This guy could sing his but off! And, he could sing any artist's song! What a waste!

  • i think hes goofing around, trying to get a feel for the song and the melody.

  • Just before the start of Diana, at about 2.48 Frankie sings "my darling, oh my sweet". Is this part of a song that anyone knows or is he just goofing around?

  • @240stu hes "warming up"...getting ready to sing through the song....

  • they seem to gain the word and loose their soul. hollywood seem to a bait for the destruction of souls.

  • what i dont understand is the we considered 1940's -- 1980's good music but most of these people killed either by drugs or circumstances cy drugs and alcohol.

  • Yes every song he covered was on par or better than the original..Jailhouse rock is another classic the way Frankie does it like only he can..legend of his era and forever an indelible figure that is like a silent partner of any young pop music artist of r&b artist basically writing the book on how to be a teen pop sensation.

  • What a voice! This kid sure could sing! It was such a sadloss when he died at a very young age.

  • he was throwing it down @4;30. Im 25yrs and I work for a non profit organization as a counselor w/people that has what most of society calls mental disabilities. I dont however. anyway many group up in these eras of music and they love it and so do I. I enjoy the oldies but gold musics. thanks for these videos.

  • Love his "Diana"! Darin was good to though.

  • what's the source of the dancing scene at the beginning of Diana?

  • Definitely one of the best singers of the sixties. It's a shame he died so young.

  • the '50s,not the '60s

  • @pamkayvan Yeah noone realy cared about frankie. The industry turned its back after his drug problems. There was no Dr drew or celebrity rehab for him back then. He was on his own and the industry and people he made alot of money for and stilll does, turned their backs on him. His music was still good his voice was changing but he was a great not just a fad or one hit wonder he was a massive unrivaled talent who would have been very successful as an adult artist.

  • Thanks for this video. Frankie certainly had a unique voice.

  • Very nice job

  • Funny how alot of people back then doing so well in their life and so telented but died very young by taking DRUGS !

  • and ODing on pills and perscriptions

  • HOW IS SUCH A WASTE OF TALENT IF YOU ARE LISTENING to Him Sing. HE WILL LIVE 4 EVER! HOW about U who think the Physical Existence is all she Wrote. HE IS ALIVE, IN YOUR EARS AND EYES RIGHT NOW!

  • Frankie was a ressurrected Spirit that shot through the Earth, just to be in a Scene. He WILL LIVE FOREVER. His life was not in Vain.

    HE WILL BE RESSURRECTED AGAIN!

  • Haha really, though that would be nice.

  • This is so rare!!! I love YouTube!!!

  • What a covers, my god! And very very great video you did there, many thanks for uploading this!

Maybe some of you will like Dennis Brown cover of Silhouettes (i really think is based on Franky version although the voice and singing technique is really different)

  • Frankie was a true great, very unique voice 5 stars

  • One of the best! Unique voice, composing his own songs, so young. He had it all. So much good could have come out of it, if he only would have lived longer.

Thanks for the post. Fantastic video with rare footage and thought put into it.

  • what a talent. Amazing so young. Nobody today sounds

    remotely like him........

  • What a tragic loss, it is so sad how he died. I love his cheeky grin.

  • i love how his voice sounds here,, i never

knew who he was until i seen the movie.

but he was qood his voice is awesome.

hope he rest in peace <33.

  • Michael could hit everything except baratone.

  • @doonieqirl7 yes, and I think he died very young, poor boy. Pity. R.I.P

  • @doonieqirl7 what movie

  • @the101gamers "why do fools fall in love"

  • @twt6389 thx

  • Frankie had his own unique style and voice he will turn any song by any other artist into a best seller!!!! thanks for the rare version !!!!!!

  • Nice Post!!!! Thank you one of the best voices ever!!

  • LOVE HIM! Hes the MAN!

  • wow this is a well written song!! and im 16 and i appreciate good music like this.

  • I grew up with Frankie Lymon. Sang lead with the Castletones singing Lewis Lymon Songs--- Please tell the angles, I'm so happy, etc. My husband Singing DJ Bobby James plays his records every Friday nite.... I still sing along with him.

Miss the 50's... What a great time

    Cookie

    Oldies 4-ever

  • He was a bad man.. No other like him!!

  • This is the version I remember from my childhood. Frankie Lymon was amazing. He like so many others who are not prepared for fame made way too many mistakes from which he could not recover. What a loss. He was also robbed by the record moguls as so many others were.

  • I swear if levy wasnt an a-hole by robbing frankie, and if he had someone to wrote better material like these covers for frankie after the teengers his solo wouldve took off...so sad

  • frankie is just so cute,he was so spiecal,I feel bad for him.

  • Frankie Lymon was bad. Them damn narcotics fucked it all up for him. He was the only male singer in the entertainment industry at that time with a 100% soprano voice. Most male singers have, Alto, Tenor voices. Some have all three in one. Frankie sang high honey. If I were a guy I would I would wan to sing like him. The Little Usher, Chris Brown, and R.kelly voices that are out here now are nice, but Frankie's voice was beautiful and one of a kind. RIP Frankie! You left us too soon.

  • Nice comment. I love music but I can't really understand some of the terms of vocalists e.g. tenor etc. I was just wondering what kind of vocalist Michael Jackson was. Thanks.

  • I think Michael was voice was mixed with Soprano and a certain level of alto. I'm just guessing.

  • Thanks:)

  • Terrific! What talent he had.

  • Dude that boy can sang!

  • Comment removed

  • I listen to this recording every day, he was so talented. Does anybody know if he has any relatives still living, apart from his brother Lewis?

  • i believe his brother timmy lymon is still alive and i believe elizabeth waters is still kickin somewhere in philly.

  • wicked voice!!!!!

  • omg i love his voice. it's so unique and pure.

  • Frankie Lymon had tremendous talent, what a waste of a young life. Thanks for posting this.

  • lol i love 5:03

  • imagine if Frankie would have made it to 2009 or later. God...he was awesome.

  • doo wop -the uldtimate expression of feeling thru the music and voice . doo wop till i drop !!!!!!

  • Frankie ruled when he was alive!

  • absolutely love his voice.

  • Awe frankie is so cutie! Isn't it amazing to here him talk.

  • I had never Heard Frankie sing this song. I love it.

  • i like frankies version better

  • Frankie does well on this, but I think my vote would still go to The Rays. So much better than Herman's Hermits.

  • u kiddin me, no one puts soul to the song as much as Frankie does

  • i love this song! where is my first love????? thinking of you,

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Frankie lymon. what a wonderful talent , love you frankie.

  • super :)

  • It is true, these covers are wonderful renditions of the originals.

  • Try to hear the great song by Frankie Lymon, called "Footsteps"; it is AMAZING!!! Ben.

  • Thank you for putting this on. Great version of Diana. Frankie adds colour to the original b/w by Paul Ankax

  • I love his voice. I actually heard his version of Diana before Paul Anka's, and I thought it was just so great, but I can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know where I could find these covers for iTunes?

Thank you for putting up this video!

  • Love his voice..

  • wow

  • Frankie's version of "Silhouettes" was practically flawless. I have an alternate version that's a little slower but still good with some chatter from Frankie and the crew in the beginning and end.

  • Lovely...

  • nice job on this song

  • You just don't hear music like this on the radio anymore, you will either hear people

(trying to sing in the first place) about drugs and alcohol and degrating women or some long haired goons yelling and screaming or some whiney little bitch singing about god knows what because we all change the station and believe it or not I am fourteen years old.

  • Wonderfully superb!! One of the best voices. Thanks for the song.

  • cool i agree

  • anyone think the trumpet (or whatever that instrument is) part is quite reminiscent to a section of a Bruce Springsteen song, I think it's Thuderroad...im sure it's a homage

  • WOW Simply Amazing. Its great to hear hits sung by other artists as they somehow add their own flavor to it.

Great Video!!! One of the best videos ive seen, it complements the Silhouettes song perfectly. Thanks for posting.

  • this song is soso ture..sad :(

  • This song is Good better than the Rays

  • of course it is

  • i never heard this by him and your right about him. I love every song he sang!

  • this song is the best

  • Im a true 50's grease monkey and i have to tell ya, our neighborhood used to get into fights(not just screaming) with the neighboring block about who loved frankie more. RIP frankie lymon...there can never be another.

  • thats awesome...You do here his songs in Italian movies and shows ie sopranos..he was similiar to some young italian singers of that generation.

  • Very first time I have heard these by frankie just amazing best songs and the best of times....love this music

  • w0nderboy89...........................

I know just what you are talking about.

  • Frankie Lymon did a great job with this song, but again he could sing anything, my favorite was "Mircle In The Rain" "The Creation of Love" I believe it was the flip side.

  • I been trying to find that song...Miracle In The Rain, Teacher Teacher, Change Partners, and Is Or Is You Aint my Baby..anyone know where I can find those songs? I got the 5 disc CD of Frankie, but it was stolen so I have NOTHING except some few things I burned off Limewire.(crying)Can anyone help me out??

  • Ashley, I sent you a message, Colonny Records on 49th St. & 7th Ave. NYC they have every recording you want, also on this site there are many collectors who might help you. flip side of Miracle in The Rain is Out In The Cold Again.

  • this should be a warning dont do shit

  • yay, diana is one of my favorite songs!!
