  • DCFC is no where near as good as this. they do not have the range to do this song! BB is a great song writer. one of the most under rated song writers of our time.

  • Holy crap. I just realized this was 20 years ago, when I first heard him, and we've both gotten old! Dammit!

  • This song really reminds me of this girl I love. It's quite a beautiful song.

  • uhmm... i'm not emo. death cab's just more talented.

  • man, i wish the original video for this song was on youtube somewhere. the one with stipe...

  • I was searching for it because I heard a young Phill Jupitus directed and stared in it. Unfortunately..nowhere to be found..:(

  • death cab's cover is way better.

  • Die, emo kid. It is a travesty that their video has more hits than Billy's.

  • You've got to be kidding. You're kidding, right?

  • @ahmazingg66 I just listened to Death Cabs version, and it actually sounds EXACTLY like the studio version by Billy Bragg. This live version is quite a bit faster than the one from Don't Try This at Home.

  • Such a fantastic performer

  • billys the best!

  • Im at the front with the bleached hair - great gig!

  • billy you look so young here.....or am i just getting old lol

  • death cab's version is better

    (just my opinion)

no offense to billy bragg fans

  • oooh how very dare you!

  • Fair enough, I've not heard death cab's version. I dunno why people get so offended when people dare to speak against their favourite band/artist though. Get a life people, AND I SAY THAT AS A BILLY BRAGG FAN. I love his stuff, but it doesn't bother me at all if other people don't. Why the fuck should it?!

  • WOO! Go Tom!

  • I agree with you, but that's because I love the acoustic guitar

  • @magictruitt i absolutely agree with you. I like the acoustics better than this band version

  • I'm sure this would have been the same tour in which I saw him at Liverpool. My friends and I almost met him as we were in contact with the local radio station who had him on after the gig.

Lovely song and great memories thanks.

I seem to remember the support act doing something with an ironing board.

Also there was the 'Groove is in the heart' finale'.He looks like a baby in the clip!

  • Utterly brilliant

  • I saw this tour in 1991 and it was a lot of fun!

  • this video is incredible.

thanks so much for posting it.
