I am the 72777th viewer, boeing 777 and boeing 727, if youtube was a cryptic fortune teller, I'd have an idea of what I might fly if i become a pilot...
fly4fun- I am thinking about becoming a commercial airline pilot, something that I have always wanted to do since before I can remember. I have actually started flight training and have about 26 hours in my logbook to date. However, when I tell some pilots that I want to fly with the airlines, many of them just roll their eyes and tell me to just join the military. I have hear many people talk about all of the bad points of being an airline pilot. Do you think that it is a good or bad career?
@runway34r I knew all along that I wanted to be an airline pilot. Not a military pilot, but a commercial pilot. So maybe that's why I am happy where I am. For more on why I wouldn't want to be doing anything else, Google 'Cockpit Chronicles Enjoy The View.
@runway34r With being in the military you can't be assured of flying in the left seat or even being in the cockpit at all. I'm not sure your age,but stick with your lessons, all aspects. Get your IFR rating single engine, then work for multi engine and turbine. To start with a local puddle jumper airline, build hours there, work into larger aircraft like a twin turbine or turbo prop. I liked the Beech 1900. There are a lot of stairs to climb, just don't run outta breath to reach the sky. Best of Luck
@runway34r Ive heard all the bad crap; im sure everyone has. But they all say you have to love it to enjoy it. If it wasnt for a love of flying, being an airline pilot would be the worst job on the planet.
I just saw you on Flying Wild Alaska! Very impressive. I vaguely knew of your family ties in Alaska, but was surprised to see you up on the screen. Pretty cool
A morning Shuttle launch not too long ago created an effect similar to this over Florida as the sun was coming over the horizon, quite an interesting sight.
@dva511 Unfortunately, the FAA is extremely strict about videos like that. So I can almost guarantee you that you won't see any new videos from fly4fun below 10,000ft.
@gt5004life Didn't know that. Ive seen many new videos around from the cockpit of landings and take off so never tho there would be something wrong about it. Thanks for the info anyways.
some really good stuff here
