  • fan of 1978 pace car, but would want crate engine and in mint so would cost waaayy too much, other then that an lt4 would probably be awesome. im a big stickler for mint condition though so ill probably buy close to new. 07 gt500, 03/04 cobra, 02 camaro ss, 93 svt cobra, would love a 2000 cobra r but again no back seat. part of me wants an old 60's 4 door just mint original for crusin with fam. these boys got more coin then me.

  • @downrange1776, i have owned a mid eighties firebird, t/a, 01 svt cobra, 07 california special gt. I have just sat in a few vettes but you know your in one the second the seat starts to hug you about 6 inches before you finish sitting in. they are beast especially with any kinda of hp and the aerodynamics and handling are just stupid(really good), would love to have one for a toy but gotta have 4 seats for me, so probably end up gt500 with a baby on board sticker on back.

  • 91 or 92 for the 300hp, 96-330hp, 97- around 06 i think 345, zr1 from 90-95, 375-405hp, zo6 in 2001 385hp originally went to 405 a year or two later, chevy drops the legend 5.7 350 and goes to the 6.2 whenever this newest body style came out 05-06, then with the new z06 with 505hp 7.0 litre and a few years later the new zr1 638hp. so when someone says the zo6 is the bottom of the barrel vette they kinda look retarded. if any of you people typing have been following cars stats

  • @markburridge The 96 at the HP you said is the LT-4 the 96 also still had the LT-1 with 300HP. I own an LT4 great car and a step into what was to come with HP. I'm such a Mopar guy classic muscle and I do love the new Challenger so for me to have sold a project 70 Coronet R/T I thought I was crazy but I do love the Vette. To me the C4 was the poor mans Vette. The Vette is just a crazy car after sitting in one and seeing it first hand. I'm happy with my buy.

  • Ummm, i know this is youtube and know one will believe me...but I've had both of them. They are both fun and different. The Mustang is the true muscle car and a much easier DD and just so sexy. The z06 is a handful to drive as DD but hands down the car for a road course but still crazy scary. And in this video, I'm honestly surprised the mustang kept the race that close. My Mustang didn't even keep up with LS3 corvettes. I'm surprised I'm even making comments on Youtube.

  • @cantbsdave ur an idiot... the gt500 is a supercharged 5.4 liter dual overhead cam engine... vs. the 427 pushrod naturally aspirated bow tie engine... if i were to just look at a spec sheet, i would say the supercharged engine wins all day long... but no it doesnt, the good ole small block and gm engineering prevails. bow down to the now most badass engine on the market.

And if I drive it nice, it'll give me 32MPG all day on the highway at 70MPH. WOOT. I can appreciate the power potential from pressurization, but I just like normally aspirated engines better.

  • @denny099999999 Meh, the Z06 keeps up with the ZR1 or exceeds it in some road racing scenarios. I think the ZR1 is a science experiment. The Z06 is the real sports car. For cruising, you get the "regular" convertible.

  • @glashoppah i dunno regular corvette is pointless for like 10-15k more you can get a z06. for another 10k on top of that you can smoke a zr1. z06 is where its at zr1 is like overkill almost. its nice and kicks ass but the z06 is just the all around car it handles amasing good acceleration good milage looks awsome and is a bargain at the price.

  • @insatiableTy 3.1 sec 0-60? Insideline review did it in 4.3. The SLP ZL1 is not a production ZL1..its a 80k retrofit of a regular SS by SLP until the Actual ZL1 comes out. That price makes the SuperSnake package at 35k look reasonable and both put out the same HP (750bhp). Funny thing...for 3500 bucks, my car has more HP than a SuperSnake or SLP ZL1 (3500 for a blower swap to a VMP TVS put my 2011 GT500 at 654rwhp or about 770bhp) Production ZL1 = about 4300lbs SLP ZL1 = about 3900

  • @insatiableTy the point above was to say...for 80k + price of SS, you still don't get a real production ZL1.  I was also bringing to light that the claims in this thread of low 3.1-3.3 0-60 were inaccurate. Paying 80k + price of SS to get a SLP ZL1 just doesn't make a lot of sense to me is all when if you want an actual ZL1...you will be able to get one for around 50k. The SLP ZL1 ends up costing well north of what a fully optioned carbon Corvette ZR1 (a super badass car).

  • The Z06 has the lightness advantage on the GT500, to compensate for the extra weight I think the GT500 would need to be at about 650 hp (approx.) To do a bit of a walk on the Z06.

    They are 2 of my Favorite cars though, so if either wins I am please haha.

The optional super-slick track DOT competition tires (Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Zero Pressure) make it one of the fastest production cars around Germany's famous Nürburgring course. This is what really separates the Corvette from the Mustang. the stang corners okay but its less than world class handling put it at a real disadvantage against cars like Vipers, Vettes, GT-Rs, 911s & so on.

I have seen VW beetles run upper 9's and kill even Veyrons'. Mustangs are generally for kids who can't afford new vettes.

  • To begin the Shelby should never jump the z06 off the start so something went wrong there ,secondly i own a z06 and it pulls away from a shelby much quicker than this video shows.

  • @camirocz no way the 500 was stock... I got a cammed ls2 gto and I pull on 500's (not sure on 2010 plus) steadily about the way the zo6 in the video did. No way my car is on the level of a stock z06 and no way a stock GT500 will keep up with a z06 straight line, track w/e.

  • @r3d70tvhs Exactly i know i leave Shelbys really far back even the new ones so something is up here,my z06 is all stock and so far i have never lost .Race a lambo gallardo,2010 porsche 911 twin turbo ,ferrari 430,r8 audi v10,and the best stretch of all a 2010 camaro ss with exhaust ...lol.The closest run was the porsche we went from 60 to 180 mph and i was 3 to 4 cars ahead ,2 guys in each car,he would have beat me off the start i am sure.
