hahaha i notice that MrArcher0 hasnt acknowleged his mistake.....anyone reading the description of this video would have seen 300fps-slow motion!!! come on guys you need to be sure before you criticise!
Nice video :) I dun care for special gear like slings and weights for myself either, but tiz all good so stop whining people! Anyway good selection of music to, Vangelis is an amazing artist :D
I respect all archers so no negative critism intended. The sling the archer has arround his wrist is used to prevent the bow from falling out of his hand after the shot, as he may not grip the bow to prevent this because gripping would alter the aim.. 0:31 the archer closes his hand and grips the bow, clearly altering aim in the last split second before the arrow is shot.. thats an unconscious mistake wich will take lots of practise to undo.
well good question, one would think not because the aim is instinctive right.. but actualy its even more important in that case 'cause the 'instinctive' part is the eye-hand/release/timing-coordination;by gripping the bow you're using forearm and handmuscles to hold its weight and those will influence the flightpath of the arrow upon release.. However one could argue that same muscles could 'correct' a initial wrong aim instinctively.. True but in that case u can shoot blind also
It does (if you're trying to perfect your aim by reducing variables) but it doesn't matter if you're already relying solely on instinct anyway (when shooting a mongolian bow of a horse back f.e.)
@masterdurchgriff Okay, so it would help if I had sights and extra equipment on my bow and string, but it doesn't really matter if I'm firing the "good ol' fashioned" way. I think I understand now, thank you :)
Very correct. And you can even go further by stating that if you truly excel at instinctive aim you do not need any extra equipment, on the contrary it would be a hindrance.. But on the otherhand the opposite is correct too, if you suck at it and need those tools to aim and stabilize your bow than using those correctly is even more important (thats why you can't grip your bow when using a sling as obviously you aren't relying on instinctive aim if you do use such tool)
a good shot, or a lucky one? You use a bow sling yet you still grab the bow at the point of release. keep your grip loose and let it swing, you'll see the difference!
"That's "SLOW MOTION" genius, lol! 300fps from a bow is smoking fast and even with those skinny arrows he's using could probably skewer a deer or hog from 50 meters :D"
i wouldent be talking "genius". 300fps as in 300 frames per sec, not feet per sec
