I sometimes think O'Reilly exercises a sort of Orwellian doublethink.
To me, it's like
a) O'Reilly partly believes what he's saying,
but simultaneously
b) (and this is going to sound odd, but hear me out) he's smart enough to know that it's bullshit, but also knows that it'll rile up his audience to do the evil deeds of his corporate masters.
He sometimes comes across more liberal than his guests, so I think he can do it sometimes, if you know what I mean.
