They were very nice and encouraging. They don't get too much help and its all volunteers, most were much older gentlemen who are veterans. They didn't seem to flinch at all. I disarmed them with charm. I would imagine a patriotic gay person would be welcome, since I have found the majority are against the soldiers and the war.

But he said he wouldn't at first, that it was political, and the general had to say if you don't send them now we might as well leave. What general has ever had to say that to an American president?  If the troops barely have Obama's support, and a drag queen is more supportive, WHAT does that say?

@PatrioticBlonde I thnk Australia will be out of Iraq by February, but will be sending more to Afghanistan on the way home, probably temporarily as it is really against the Labor Government's policy. Everyone really just wants to go home. It could be an unwinnable war...

Give them the right to back the troops either by money, that is, wealthy / war tax, which they can afford, or child enlistment. Let them make a choice. Isn't America about choices?
