  • how the hell did this not catch on , for fuck sake this looks better than most games today

  • They should do a hd remake of this game for Xbox!

  • this is the only anime game with enough of a detailed fighting system that if they were still making this series of game you would see it in evo and other big fighting game tournament. You ever see a naruto fighting game or dbz fighting game with skill and not mashing one button? Nope, that's why I think this is the best anime fighting game period.

  • love atomiswave games

  • I WANT THIS TO BE PURCHASED AT XBOX LIVE ARCADE!!!!

  • Why did this not come out in America for consoles? We love Fist of the North Star too, Arc System Works...

  • ist on the anime series theres some guy who says the world and freezes time

  • @babyhogg3 That's JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, the character Dio Brando.

  • @momissinpewbs oh ok i thought it was him since he looked kind of liked him and stuff

  • Why are people playing Street Fighter 4? This game looks way better!

  • wow that battle ended in a different way that I thought.

  • they need to add 20 ppl in this game 10 is not good enough

  • You need a bag of speed to play this game XD

  • btw Akuma is a total Ripoff of Raoh

  • terry: power wave!!!!!

  • great match, best hokuto on youtube.

  • I'm lucky Gameworks has had one of these machines since 2006. I just wished they used Sanwa but American parts are all good.

  • Booooooooooooooo! no finish?

  • aww, no fatal K.O.?

oh well, that was entertaining enough

  • That was an epic fight

  • fucking awesome

  • What system can I get this on?

  • Arc System makes fking amazing fighting games.

  • There's an Xbox 360 and I think PS3 game called "Kenshiro's Rage." Its basically an M rated version of Dynasty Warriors though, it doesn't look very good.

  • where do you download this for mame?

  • baited at 1:59

  • Round 1 decide your destiny HAHAHA! I like the good old ROUND 1 FIGHT better

  • Am I the only one that notice's this games cosmetic similarity to the guilty gear series? made by the same people?

  • The Wheel of Fate is Turning, Rebel 1, Action ! (Blazblue)

The Time of Retribution, Battle 1, Decide the Destiny !

I Guess it's because they're both Arc System games

  • that was a really good fight, so close but Kenshiro is such a badass

  • that was a really good fight, so close

  • I remember when i was a kid. This was the first manga movie i saw. It's still awsome. This is on my top-10 list of movies overall.

I think it's horrible that the so called "emokids" havn't even heard of Akira or FotNS O_O

  • Good fight

  • That was freaking epic

  • got this game really hard to play on the upper level

  • If only this game was to be available on xbox live, or psn store right now, i'd FUCKIN download it STRAIGHT away !!!!!!!! i guess i can keep dreaming though. Im a big fan of the manga anime, and the original Japanese Hokuto No Ken series myself. To be honest though, im not sure if that new game coming out Rage of Ken would get great reviews, but whatever!!! I'm still gonna buy it though. Can you imagine, if someone like team ninja, or even capcom had the rights to this game instead (=

  • there should be a golgo 13 queen bee game instead of this

  • but work for mame this game?

  • when the music changes it's the best part

  • action packed

  • THis game looks so tight.

  • Hokuto no ken (the manga) started being drawn by Tetsuo Hara in 1982 - way way before Street Fighter II was even conceived as a videogame let alone as a franchise with a story and developped characters.

Hokuto no Ken predates even Dragonball.

  • They should make another one with the BlazBlue-engine now. :D

  • @RRRadish yes they should it would kick ass

  • 3:23

Crossing kicks, like in the anime! :D

  • Sega should make a Black Belt version of this as well!

  • Arc system works?...

    Holy shit im sold.

There only the best of the best when it comes to fighters.

  • But of course... They made Guilty Gear & BlazBlue. Now I know why Bang Shishigami so awesome!

  • Hokuto Ujou Gosho Ha

  • STORY DRIVEN BATTLES.

  • @Camer0nz Yes, every move used in this game is based on the manga/anime/movie.

  • i want this game sooooooo bad!!!!!

  • Epic

  • A Kenshiro vs Shin match never gets old! Or boring!!

  • i saw some pics from the new game it looks good

  • The music at the end totally fit. XD Kenshiro will kick your A** if that song plays. (it IS possible to beat him with that song playing but I'm just saying from the anime if that song started to play you knew head were gonna explode pretty much.)

  • whats the name of that song?

  • The name of Song is Lonely Eagle Southern Cross

  • I didn't think Kenshiro would win and then out of nowhere he makes an epic come back.

  • at 3:23 a scence str8 from da anime

  • @vinnizle

Holy shit, I didn't notice that.

  • did Kenshiro just zankai ken Shin's ass?

  • Yes, he did. But it was a time up.

  • tenha ka satssu!!!

  • dude ...hokuto no ken anime was released on 1984 ...way before very first street fighter game which was released on 1987. also hokuto no ken manga is much older (first published, 1983) where as street fighter II manga came out on 1993 first. so all the moves Kenshiro here as well as on the manga n the anime of hokuto no ken was original. so next time do some research before u comment. i like SF series too but dont wanna compare with one game to another. peace.

  • @rubelcool but u gotta admit that ken in hnk1 never did a tiger upper cut ,,lol i totally agree wit you though

  • @Namriu94 Although he doesn't jump into the air to do it, he does still do that uppercut attack.

  • @rubelcool seriously

i just looked up this game on xbox 360 and downloaded it and to see if it was good and the demo is beast

then i go on here to see when is the realease date and I find out this was on

    nes, 1on1 fighting game

    boy i tell you

and i didn't know this was before street fighter thanks for the info man

    (ps3 better)

    peace

  • @rubelcool The only thing that Street Fighter have not done, but is coming close to it... is having "Longer than a Paragraph" names for finishing moves.

  • @rubelcool hey since youve done your research on this game whats the name of the song when the timer hits about 25 secs before one of the character finishes off the other one?

  • @Wizieify Ai wo Torimodose. It's the opening to the show. /watch?v=P8BYBaDz0Ic

  • @rubelcool

Of course the concept of hokuto no ken came first, but to say that the game doesn't take some influences from the largest other game in the genre is foolhardy. It just makes sense to look at what works and why so as to incorporate them in your own game.

  • @rubelcool you are comparing a manga turned anime turned video game in hokuto no ken. to a video game series that turned in to manga and anime in street fighter

  • what game system this on

  • PS2 if you still haven't got your answer.

  • The Time of Retribution

    Decide the Destiny

  • crazzy

  • omg this sounds very very bad

  • its not a mugen. its a real game.

  • ken made the biggest come back in round 3

  • Yeah the great thing about games that run on this engine is even if you have a sliver of health left, if you get into a good flow you can still win (if you're really skilled and careful, that is)

  • did i see ken bust out a shoryuken near the beginning?

  • lol What you just witnessed was the original Shoryuken.

  • And at 0:43 it's the original Power Geyser? The special technique of Terry Bogard! XD Also, at 2:00 the original Rising Tackle. =P

Do these moves exist in the manga/anime series? I didn't read/watch them yet.

  • I don't think Shin did the Power Geyser-like move but they both did the kick move the manga/anime.

  • they don't exist in the manga.

  • Damn... where could I get an emulator for this jewel?

  • Dude the game is too recent. For now, the only way you'll be able to play it is if you get the PS2 import.

  • played this as an online game

  • I've played it too, but that game's quality is really poor. You can't compare Flash to the PS2.

  • The look on my face near the end must have been priceless. This game looks outstanding.

  • i wanna play this mother fuckin game, this is bullshit

  • its out on ps2 in japan.

  • Also im currently downloading the ISo. Will see if it works with the PS2 emultaor if not i'll just go buy a Jap PS2 and a hard copy of the game. Pfft I want one anyways and the Phantasy Star 1 and 2 remakes

  • for me, it worked on the ps2 emulator, but it was to slow, everything showed perfectly though, and it took almost 5 minutes for 1 round sometimes. same here bout the ps2 though, but id rather get swap magic and burn the game to play it, i saw this game at playasia before, but its alot of money

  • 10 years from now our computers will probably handle it no problem :p

  • the newest computers out now can handle the game perfect speed, im not spending $1000 for a new one though, i dont even have $1 in my wallet, god im poor

  • I bought a copy, its not that expensive to import it - look on ebay..

  • Ya i know. I dont have the patience to get that emultaor to work anyways. So does that magic slide thing accually work?? I dont feel like taking the top off my PS2

  • I bet I would have to buy the import and get a system mod i bet cause i've not seen it state side

  • Buy a swap magic - you take the front part of the Disc tray off and thats it as far as messing with your PS2. You have to load a boot disc, pull open the tray with this card thing they give you, click it shut and load the program. You can play imports and copies doing that and it only costs a few dollars.

  • the anime was FUCKING great and this game looks just the GREAT too!

  • Why was this game wasn't released in the us?

  • do people even know about this series?

  • This game is nice. I've seen the arcade cabinets around but not anymore.

  • Not that I'm hating, but why the fuck doesn't Sony give us FTNS fans a chance in getting this game ported to the U.S. Japan is always getting the better of these kick ass games while ppl like myself a huge fan of anime and fighting games like this probably will never see game here. I actually saw this at a convention with someone playing this on a modified PS3 and sadly the game wasn't for sell =(

  • is this a real game or are you pulling my leg I am a huge fist fan and if it is real where can I get it.

  • xD too fun !! lets chat c my profile! J

  • Yip it more than good plus shin looks cooler

  • nah man shin is gay, he got fucked by rao. look at him, hes a FAIRY!!! then look at ken. ken's movements are absolutely legit. he hits really really fucking rough!!!!! shin is like a lady. and also, guile and gouki is not a real fight, then again...let's say there's a better fight. gouki vs gill!!! guile sucks man you know why.

  • Yes but Shin defeated Ken in the one FTNS movie. Shin is still pretty powerful but ya not as powerful as Raoh

  • decide the destiny!!! this looks fuckin awsome. this better come to the states. such good action!!!

  • hahahahaha i should check the date first i guess hahahaha

  • Holy Damn, its a good thing the damage seems low, or these fights would be over in seconds. But I love the sheer speed of the fights

  • Im playing it now - it is truely amazing.. A must buy if you are a fan of the series (I am obsessed with it so this games has gone down nicely!).. Am trying to figure out the reversals and one or two of the 'historic' moves (like Shin being lured over to evil or Yuda being killed by Rei), awesome game..

  • Kenshiro turned that fight on its head. Go, Ken!

  • I have a copy of this sitting here waiting to be played but because the bank has screwed me I can't order a swap magic until next week! Feel my pain.. :'(

  • this looks like guilty gear x or another mugen mod

  • 3:23 epic historic moment

  • hell yeah

  • this looks like a good game but i dont think it compares to street fighter alpha 3 or guilty gear X

also there is a lot more movement in the game than the film but the films still better

  • lucky u have an arcade the top underground pros like me where i live at survie at goin to each others house with our sticks

  • Tell me about it..

  • why cant guys like these play at my arcade all i get to play against is dumb shits that acnt string a combo together :(

  • OMG 0:30 hidoken

  • this looks like a badass 2d fightig game and im also a fan of the anime too

  • he made a crazy comeback on that last round lol

  • cool ! :)

  • any way to got this game to the pc?

  • It haves the same exact system as GGX2. With Instant kills, burst, power gauge, the whole nine. The made it a bit different tho. Insted of activating your instant kill, you have to destory your enemy's crystals first. You then can perform your instant kill (which CAN be combined into a combo) by consuming one power bar (max of 2). Roman Cancles in this game consume one entire burst bar (max of 3). Movement, buttons, and even DUST is in this game. Like GGx2, but with a 199X twist. THIS GAME ROCKS

  • Lots of idiot comments. Of course it has the look of Guilty Gear (made by Arc Systems, no less), but if you try to play it as GG, you will get PWNED in no time.

  • Reminds me of Guilty Gear X2 Reload but with more manly men. Looks good.

  • Anybody know where I can get a import PS2? quick don't hide the info!!

  • you can order it on playasia ^^

  • Who are the developers of this awesome looking game?

  • Holy crap at the amazing comeback and the retro music at 3:20. That's enough for me to import a PS2 and this game.

  • fuckin fight maaaaaaaannnnnn dat was awesome really, hokuto zankai ken!!!!

  • Wow...I have to agree....this DOES look too similar to Guilty Gear...but I guess this type of gameplay system fits Fist of the North Star, so meh.

  • Yup 3:22 - 3:23

    The Fucken Best!!

  • 3:22 EPIC!

  • Holy shit! Hokuto Hiei Ken and Nanto Gokutou Ken at the same time! I thought they'd cancel out if they hit!

  • Holy crap I got for thumbs down for my last comment?! Ok, sammy didnt publish this game but it still doesnt change the fact that this game looks like a guilty gear rip off! I love fighting games but to be honest I've never been too big on guilty gear and I doubt this game would be on top of my list either.

  • This looks just like Guily Gear, only with Fist of The North Star characters.

  • Made by the same people so it has the same style

  • This game destroys guilty gear games.

  • except GG is awesome

  • Sammy didn't published. SEGA did.

  • 3:23 = epic remake of an epic scene.

  • The PS2 version hasn't been released outside of Japan and there are no plans on releasing it overseas.

  • Guilty Gear?! that explains everything!

    i wanna play this now!

  • ok so I have a bunch of these guys for my MUGEN but the moves are written in Japanese, I figured out the basics and how to do Kens 100 Hits but i know he has a bunch more moves, do you happen to have this game? on ps2? and if so can you send me the moves?

  • Looks really good, all it is missing is the gore :(

  • Sega had distributed the arcade version of Hokuto No Ken (Fist of the North Star) in the US.

  • Seriously, where? Thats some bull if its true.

  • It's true. Sega released the game on Winter 2006 in North America. I actually saw the game in a college during a summer before it was taken out.

  • meh I have this gaem on my mod - chipped ps - 2 it got old in a few days...

  • OMFG MUST HAVE IN STATES

  • This game is awesome and the sprites are fucking amazing!

  • Maybe because Sammy made it?

  • actually moe, arc system works made it. sammy just published it ;)

  • I know I'm going to get flamed, but this reminds me alot of Guilty Gear. Not calling this a rip-off, but the simularities are striking...

  • It was made by the people who made guilty gear.

  • hmm whoever using shin is pretty good. Shin isnt easy to learn and a bit hard to understand how to use his moves against other opponents.

  • shin should have won

  • ahahahha yEAH shin got fucking owned by ken!

  • I'm sorry to inform you that 2D games will never see the light of day in the US. :~( The only way you can play this here in the US is by modifying the PS2 system to play games from Japan/China or buy a tv and a PS2 system from Japan/China to play the imported game. :)

  • I just love how epic it got at the end when "Ai wo torimodese" started playing and then Kenshiro and Shin did the flying kick clash ZOMG! @_@

  • I could tell it was the descendant of GGX even without reading the description. I just hope it makes up for the God-awful Hokuto no Ken on the Famicom.
