I first heard about this guy back in '92 from a martial art magazine and have always been fascinated by him. He seems to be a very cool mysterious guy.
Its a pity that he never really made it big in films.
Because he has star quality. I respect him even more now I know that he was an ex- marine commando.
What is he doing these days? can anyone tell me his martial arts background?
I had the pleasure to meet and talk with Olivier in Venice,CA a few years ago.What a great,cool and down to earth guy he is.Only difference between him and Vandamme is that he always kept his head on his shoulder and never became one of those egocentric Hollywood starlettes.

But as a former Spec Ops soldier (2nd Psychological Operations Battalion, Army Reserve), I automatically have respect for anyone whose worn the uniform, and even moreso for those who served in any Spec Ops capacity. And then he's an martial artist too? He's alright with me.
Olivier is a real martial artist and everything that Van Damme could never be. He would wipe the floor with Van Damme and no one questions Gruner's legitimacy. Van Damme has none.
Man Angel Town was one of my all time favs from back in the day. I wish this guy could get some more roles, hes a great action star. Him and JCVD would be awesome together.
That movie "Angel Town" was one of my favorites. I loved the scene where you put on a demonstration, while showing the students, that at any time you wished, it would be the end of the demonstration, and the opponent for that matter. There was just something very cool about that scened :-)
