@roolpalacios I was using scales in the key of G major (although the guitar I used is tuned down a half so it looks like G# major). I'm not very knowledgeable on theory, but I learned a great deal on JamPlay. I get a lot of mileage out of the bit of knowledge I've gleaned. For G major, you can use A Dorian, B Phrygian, E Aeolian shapes, etc. If I just went over your head, find some intro to theory or give JamPlay a try. Thanks for the comment.
