This is a great video - Having owned a ps3 60gb since launch,ive recently bought a slim 320gb - The bootup time is noticably slower on the new slim,as is some functions of the XMB (themes etc) ..Both my 60gb and slim have indentical firmware (4.00) and ive tried the same hard-drive in the slim as well as the 60gb -The slim is slower ..Havent noticed any major issues in game as of yet - But this video sort of put my mind at rest,because are feared i'd got a faulty machine.

Backwards compatibility means that it can play Ps2 and Ps1 games. The new versions of the Ps3 don't have this feature and don't have ps2 memory cards. Only PlayStation 1 memory cards. and the new Ps3's can play ps2 games as well.

LoL, this guy is biased and pressed the button slightly sooner on fat or his slim is a dud. BTW all of you sheep need to go to Sony's real site and use your 3rd grade reading skills to analyze and actually research how the slim is technologically superior to an already superior system. It is faster, more sufficient and better designed than fat. The touch buttons are negligible and the BC is gone becuase the ps2 is still selling.

It'a true, it is superior to the fat PS3. But the thing that bothers me is that it uses a lower graded fan and higher processor which is automatically calling for overheat...But never the less, the slim is better, but I recommend getting a cooling station for it. Thats like with PC's if you upgrade the processor you need a faster fan.

personally I think the ps3 slim has more chances at messing up than the ps3 fat. They basically cut down the price big time in return used cheaper components. Like all playstation slims in the past, they were all a downgraded version, if this one is dif than that would be a first. Never know tho.

Actually the Slim was slightly faster. The 80GB started/booted up the fastest but the Slim loaded the same OS faster. And RIGHT AFTER the 80GB finished loading the OS, the Slim finished around the same time even tho the 80GB started 3 seconds before. And the processor size doesnt make a difference in this particular situation simply because if you read about the design of the new chip, its uses 34% less power BUT has the same processing speed as the 60 nm.

Yeah, live should be free, I don't get whats do premium about it. Microsofts customer service almost made me go insane. I think the only thing that made get a Xbox is the controller, I like having a trigger, the Ps3 controller feels very light and feels like I am going to snap it in half, If I could play a ps3 with a xbox controller I would be happy. The games on xbox are better though, but having both is the best bet. I really don't get the point of the Playstation home.

How to change the default button controls on PS3?

have to press O to enter and X to go back. I want it like how the old controls were on PS2. Where you press X to
