The two breakers were insane .. Del potro did'nt lose a point on his serve, and Fed was way too passive .. But, after Fed failed to serve for the 2nd set, it was almost all Del Potro, the third set was an illusion and some luck .. Fed never recovered from the loss of the 2nd and Del Potro became way better .. such a shame ..
I remember watching this match live, and being really impressed with del potro's movement after the first set. From the beginning, federer was keeping it at potro's backhand, but after the first set, potro started running around everything, and he was doing a damn good job of it!
fed got so owned in this match, at first i hated it because i'm a fed fan, but now i love it. delpo totally deserved the win. i hope he can be back in full force next season
del porto got small chance of winning, and he did take his chance and go for it, if he played safe against federer he would have lost, good try and he did it. best memory in his life like hewitt
Sad that Delpo couldn't win against Cilic..he's such a good player and a good person...I'm a big fan of Federer...but when I'saw Delpo playing at the masters..and beating Nadal in Miami...I became his fan almost immediately...and despite Federer's big record at US Open...I was really wanting Delpo to be the champion in that ocasion...
hm spent 5 minutes trying to find a point won by delpo, but could only find one setpoint that federer nets. why post this kind of homoerotic crap, if you like federer just watch his picture, if you want to post "highlights" then post something that includes both players lol
This is how it actually was Real Phobos.... It has both Roger and Del Potro it's just Del potro's highlights start coming up in the future because Roger pretty much beat him in the first set... if you see carefully u will notice that there are more highlights for player in 1 set then the other that they won.
@jsm832141 Del Potro does work his way into points. If you watch, he will place the ball and grind out the point until he finds a ball he likes, and when he does... Holy shit.
@samaybrahmin really think, soederlings forehand is better than delpo´s? well i dont know. robin has a lot of power, but he does not hit the ball that flat and straight trough. his backhand could possibly be the hardest, if you forget rafa when he goes for a backhand winner...
@tvtotalforever i find del potro hits the bal hard rarely when he does it could arguably be the hardest but consistently harder than soderling is something I wouldnt say.
@samaybrahmin I would say that if you watched Del Potro's highlights, you would say that he's just a power player. However, he actually plays very smart tennis, and is quite selective when it comes to which shots he wants to really rip. He'll just grind until he sees a shot he's ready to jump on. I'd say he hits consistently harder than Soderling when he tries to.
Gracia delpotro por darnos tantas alegrias ,,los Argentinos necesitamos personas como vos ,,,muchas gracias ...esta tarde miraremos la final ,,te alentaremos de corazon ,,un abrazo ,,saludos ,,damian,
So glad that Del Potro didnt become the next whipping boy for Federer, although his head to head might disagree with what I said, Federer has a huge lead over Hewitt, yet he used to be Hewitt's bitch.
To be honest i believe Federer just gets better and better as the years go by but it's true, his at the peak of his career and anything that goes up eventually must come down.
Federer was up and then his stamina ran away from him. He has to end the matches early these days otherwise five setters aren't Federer's element anymore if you've noticed.
you are takling so shit ... my goodness... this year, he played 6 maths in 5 sets and won 4 of them.....But what is true is that both time he lost : against Nadal and del potro, he completly collapsed in the last set. Why is that? Well against JMDP it's simple, he didn't have the will because he was dominating the match so well and got himself in a fifth set without even knowing how he got there.Against Nadal, because he had a complex. Bt now it's gone, so lets wait for 2010. THE GOAT
yeh but federer is intelligent in more ways than 1...played decent but, yet while he lost, he made a beneficial tactical move, regarding his ranking pts. maybe im wrong, but i think he wants to extend his no1 for a bit more next year, just in case he cant defend RG or wimby next year. even before and after us open he was way ahead in ranking pts. so if win us open next year, he can gain points back to try to at least make things level as much as p'sble to try to hold on to no1 as long as he can.
because in all honesty, he can beat any1 on any given day....its just whether hes bothered to put the great effort into the match or not
hes fully recovered from last years mono, so yeh, its looking quite healthy for the future. Therefore he will get 16, 17, 18, possibly 20+ grand slams? i say....why not...??
yes about winning few more slams and maybe taking the total to 20 but wrong about 'when he can be bothered'. Im not even a fan of Fed but I could never question his hunger and effort into his matches particularly the slams.
i can categorically say your point of view is way far fetched for any professional tennis player let alone Roger. What player would give away making history on a court his had been king for 5 years for the sake of a No. 1 ranking he has held for 237 weeks (4.5 years)? i can't even believe you'd actually make an effort to suggest that lt alone putting it down here. unbelievable.

@tafeltennis1 shut up you idiot, how would you know that?
if you can beat nadal and federer in a major you can beat anyone and he's just 22 now, so he's got plenty of time to collect many more majors.
believe me, del potro is the future number 1 in men's tennis

federes forhand is one of the best, good angle, good speed and good control, but delpo´s power in this hit is just unbelieveble
tvtotalforever 2 years ago 3
@tvtotalforever - Personally think No one hits the ball harder than Soderling !
The power in that mans forehand and backhand is just unbelievable.
however, he needs time to strike the ball and thats why he likes French Open ..
On other surfaces he doesnt get enough time to strike the ball!
samaybrahmin 1 year ago
@samaybrahmin Yeah Soderling and Del Potro are extremely heavy hitters....and that's why they're my favorite players lol
