Edge of Darkness was the first Mel Gibson movie (as an actor) since 2003 and it was great. Some things were shocking and intriguing and even thrilling. Mel is very talented actor and did a great job here. He was as impressive as Jodie Foster in The Brave One. Now I hope to see more and more new films with Mel

I think this film was Gibson's attempt to show people, I raw, Im serious. I think Its about time he Just did another "Mad Max" movie, make it gritty, violent and as much the same feel as the original, I think people would appriciate seeing him return to the movie that made his name, I mean, Harrison Fords done it, Willis has, even Stallone, so maybe its time Mel Gibson did it too.

I was saying at 4:54 I just relized the joke there. I'm still not sure if this is correct but, the animation of the director that's suppost to be there filming saying "this is good shit right hear." I remember the movie "Shooter" with Wahlberg where the main villian's like "I'm a U.S. Senator" then Wahlberg shoots him. In this movie the same thing happens "I'm a U.S. Senator" then Winstone shoots him. Hollywood hates republican senators!

I saw Edge of Darkness this past weekend and liked it very much. It's not a perfect movie, as stated in this review. There were a lot of unfocused and unnecessary scenes. The film has many faults, however it was entertaining. Don't go into it expecting an action movie. If you like conspiracy/detective films then I think you'll enjoy it.

This movie, despite the faults they mention, does seem worth watching. I also enjoyed the underrated State of Play, which was also based on a BBC miniseries. And while it did have to cram in a lot of doing into two hours, it was a very good movie. Now, while this movie Edge of Darkness seems like a different movie, it does seem to share some of the investigative angles, but as done by a tough guy about his dead daughter, instead of a disheveled veteran reporter looking into an intern's murder.
