  • It was a great angle but it ruined Orndoff's career. He was so over as a face up to this point and once the Hogan feud ran it's course,he was demoted. never got the fire he had before. What never made sense to me was he seemed just as hell bent on destroying the Heenan family as he was jealous of Hogan. So I though he's hate both sides not forgive those guys and join up with them. Maybe to a little kid it made sense as he was now a "bad guy" but not to the more sophisticated fan such as myself.

  • If ya followed the storyline from the start u knew an orndorrf heel turn was coming

  • Best turn ever

  • That was historic, I can still hear the chant "Wonderful Wonderful Wonderful", this and Andre The Giants turns in the WWF will be remembered as some of the best turns in WWF history. Hogans turn in the WCW still is the greatest turn of all.

  • To this day, I still wish Orndorff had clotheslined Hogan even harder! Such a great moment!

  • hogan knew how to sell being EXTREMELY hurt back then....the way he pulsed shacking on the ground was always scary to me back then...he looked really hurt

  • @rshadio because some times he was thats why

  • i thew he was gonna turn. i was only 11 then. as soon as he raised hogans are in victory. i felt a closeline coming on

  • 25 years later im still pissed mr. wonderfull betrayed hulk hogan!!!!

  • @u2control - haha same as you still huge pissed.

  • @u2control hahahhh me to...thank god for yutube...

  • I remember being pissed ass in those days i liked the babyfaces more and i liked the fact orndorff was one. Then he stabbed Hogan in the back

  • Greatest piledriver in history of wrestling!

  • back then when a good guy went bad....it meant something.....today it means nothing....cause it happens too often......Old school wrestling was alot better than it is today......they were LARGER THAN LIFE.....

  • LMAO Tonga forgot one of this ankle braces! All the chicks in the arena got a free leg show that night - just hear 'em screaming!

  • It's funny I had the exact opposite reaction. I've always been a huge Heenan fan and Orndorff turning on Hogan was one of the happiest days in pro wrestling history for me

  • 85/86 WWF was so great...before Vince had perfected his formula ...by 87 it was obvious Hogan was never going to lose but here it was still fresh

  • WON-DER-FUL! WON-DER-FUL!! WON-DER-FUL!!! WON-DER-FUL!!!!

  • This is when heel turns were so unexpected. The internet and smart marks have ruined wrestling.

  • When Hogan would team up with anyone for more than 1 match or a Survivor Series, I always had a bad feeling that they would turn on him. And they did. Mr. Wonderful, Andre, Macho Man, Tugboat, Brutus/Butcher, etc.

  • the Golden Age of wrestling.. barnone!

  • When watching this live, it felt like i was punched in the gut when paul clothlined hulk.

  • I noticed Mcmahon said the wrestlers who came into the ring to rescue Hogan were Rotunda and Spivey. Is that Spivey or Windham???

  • @abc1000001

It was Mike Rotunda and Dan Spivey. Spivey was a Windham lookalike.

  • @dhornjr1 Thanks, much appreciated.

  • I was traumatized about this too.I couldn't wait to get home from visiting relatives one August night in Toronto because I had to see this again to believe it. (didn't have a VCR)

Thank you for posting the TV version. I have the Coliseum video tape version.

  • Exactly how Orndroff was the heel I'm not sure.

  • i remember i think i cried i thought he reall broke hulk hogan neck, my brother laughed at me & told me wrestling was fake i wanted 2 kick his ass

  • I remember seeing this with my brother. We never laughed so hard lol

  • Piledriver looked real on Hogan. And Hogan helped by selling well. Hogan's body rocked back then... displayed and laid out. belly up.

  • I believe this happened in 1986. Ten years later, Hogan would do a heel turn that was more notorious than Orndorff's, when he helped Scott Hall and Kevin Nash form the New World Order (NWO).

  • I'll be frank I didnt give a shit about ordorff I wanted to see someone beat up Adonis

  • Viscous clothesline!! I remember that damn hater Orndorff. My eyes were as big as dinner plates. Holy shite balls what the hell is he doing? No, not the piledriver!! NOOOOOO!!!

  • Greatest turn in wrestling history! Another great turn was when Larry Zysbko turned on Bruno!

  • I heard after the piledriver in dressing room Hulk Hogan thought he was Foghorn Leghorn

  • Adrian Adonis was the most grotesque thing I've ever seen.

  • The turn was telegraphed the whole way yet it still drew a big reaction and came off well. Orndorff and Hulk would take a back seat to Hulk and Andre but not before they drew about 70,000 at The Big Event in Toronto. Good feud.

  • I agree that this is one of the top heel turns in wrestling history.

  • Who's the commentator with Vince McMahon? Never heard that voice before.

  • @DaManEX1983 That's Bruno Sammartino, he's a former wwf champ.

  • Greatest Piledriver Ever!

  • I remember where I was when this happened. One of the most vivid memories from my childhood. Those were the days.....

  • Thanks for posting this

  • hulk hogan isn't good with tag team partners. They all turn their back on him: Orndorff, Sid Justice, Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage!

  • Don't forget HBK.

  • this still ranks as my biggest shock in wrestling!

  • Hogan turning heel in '96 is still THE biggest shock in wrestling history, but yes...Orndorff's turn was fabulous

  • @cbaldwinjr actually Vince buying out WCW is....RAW/Nitro simultaniosly remember?

  • hey daddymak wtf with you saying that kind of shitt???

  • now THATS how u turn heel..ive been looking for this video for YEARS AND YEARS..i remember how shocked i was when this happened...no joke..it took me years to get over this lmfao

  • The days of when we were kids I know what you mean this was the 1st time I cried when orndorff did that to hogan lol the good ol days

  • Do Hogan and Orndorff ever talk anymore!

  • I don't think Hulk Hogan and ANYONE talk anymore. Just about everybody who has ever wrestled has nothing nice to say about Hulk Hogan. Orndorff said in an interview a while back that he credits Hogan with making wrestling as popular as it is but does not like him. Outside of Brutus Beefcake and Nasty Boy Brian Knobbs, Hogan doesn't have many friends from wrestling once the cameras went off. I reember being sad when this happened, but after this, I cheered everyone who turned on Hogan.

  • Hogan needed 25 Tylenol 3 after that piledriver lmao

  • as a kid, Big John Studds tights reminded me of long under wear...and oat meal for some reason...yes, I have issues and am on medication

  • @styx4ever1963 i need that many when i wake up

  • I love that piledriver on hogan.. beauitful shit

  • When I saw the "Clothesline that rocked the world" I was so devestated I didn't talk or eat cereal for a week. I was so traumatized, to this day I don't let anyone raise my hand in victory. I snatch my arm away and take a couple steps and raise it myself. It was the beginning of the end of my belief in pro wrestling. Not long after Iron Sheik and Hacksaw were caught smokin a joint together during the time they were feuding. That's when I made my wresting action figures hold lit firecrackers

  • LOL - I exactly like you.

  • hold lit firecrackers! awesome! what a classic phrase! lmao! ive done the same thing hahahahaha

  • @pmramirezjr Same thing here. I remember it was Saturday morning. I was watching it with my grand ma...

  • @pmramirezjr well your belief should be restored orndorff and hogan hate each till this day legit!

  • Greatest piledriver ever! Good stuff!

  • I remember when I was a kid how devastated I was when Orndorff turned

  • yeah and he broken my heart too :( and lose interesting altogether :(

  • Orndorff being pissed when Hogan slammed Studd was where I started thinking"uh oh...this is gonna get ugly."

  • This was one of the best starts of a feud in wrestling history. Another would be Ricky Steamboat vs Randy Savage.

  • Wow this was a shock to my system back in the day. The piledriver, the convulsing...classic

  • This was oustanding. I remember this like it was yeserday. It was one of the greatest turns in WWF history.

  • wait, it is??? no!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I couldn't believe Hogan was even wrestling on Superstars that morning...Him or Roddy Piper only may be had one or two fights on that show...

  • best moment in wrestling history.come help the bum hogan.

  • Mr.Wonderful, the absolute best piledriver in the business!

  • Damn Right Hogan's Greatest Heel Mr Wonderful

  • Almost 23 years later and I still get pissed when I see this! Fucking Mr. wonderful

  • Thanks for reminding me how old I am :)

  • My favourite wrestling moment ever....I was 10, and I thought Orndorff was the greatest

  • orndorff would of made a great champion

  • This turn is probably my second favorite behind Windham turning on Luger to join the Four Horsemen.

Hogan was on the receiving end of a well-deserved piledriver. It was a great moment when Orndorff adopted Hogan's body language, especially when he cupped his hand to his ear so he could enjoy hearing the angry jeers.

Alas, this was at a time when the WWF was phasing out its "old school" formula and shifting towards family entertainment schlock that carried through into the mid-late '90s.

  • You made good points. It is nice to see knowlegeble fans like you. When the WWF became a Saturday morning cartoon show I no longer watched it. It would have made a better storyline if Mr. Wonderful actually won the belt, however.

  • Garvin turning on Dusty at the GAB 88 is mIne. Mostly cause I was there live and loving it when it happened.

  • Very underrated...the KO on Dusty for Windham to keep the US Belt. Most people forget that...it was in Baltimore right...same night as that Dusty finish in the Luger/Flair title match?

  • Yeah, it was in Baltimore. The good old days of the NWA.

  • @cbaldwinjr both sucked in my opinion.one of the worst cards ever..

  • Was that when Ronnie Garvin knocked him out? If so, that was an awesome match :)

  • Marking out for the "Bullshit" chant at 5:45, from a 1980s WWF crowd to boot!

  • Yeah, no, that's a "Hogan" chant.

  • Greatest piledriver...ever!!!

  • I loved when Orndorff piledrived Hogan it made for a great storyline!

  • I think I was about 10 when this happened. I was so scared. Hahaha.

  • Did Orndorff ever pin Hogan

  • I LOVED this!!!

  • I've been looking for this for a while! Thanks!

  • Do Hulk Hogan and Paul Orndorff still hate each other!

  • No.

  • No. It was just as planned as anything else in wrestling. In fact, Orndorff aligned with Hogan again for the first Survivor Series after firing Heenan.

  • Orndorff did not clap when hogan was inducted into the WWE hall of fame. Look it up.

  • Okay, I heard that. It's just that at least in storyline, Hogan and Orndorff were back together.

  • Classic!....thanks:)
