If you knew history and other cultures besides your own you would know what she was doing. Read a book about MAROONs and figure it out.

Interesting question...the Maroons have been visited, observed, photographed, surveyed and documented by outsiders to the point that it is not easy to discern the authentic from the contrived. This is, at best, her heartfelt tribute.
