  • I wonder what happened to Santo and Johnny. This was hot when I was a little girl skipping rope. Takes me back to those summers. Beautiful and I honestly say it kind of puts me to sleep but in a good way! : D.

  • quel vieux appareil lol

  • Good cruzin music with ur girl ;)

  • If I could have 1 dance with Milla....

I want her eyelashes to tickle my cheek.

And we can feel warm outside in the snow

  • so sexy =))

  • I miss ritchhiiieer.... :'(

  • Ritchiiiiiieee!!!!

  • Ritchie valenz :'c

  • for those of you still interested, you can find these old record players at yard sales, garages sales, pawn shops, goodwill stores, salvation stores, because the baby boomers are fading away and their children do not know what treasures we had.

I know, I lost mine too a greedy exwife, the records or 45's are at music stores that sell old 78's, 45's, and 33's

I still think the old ones have good quality sound

  • Putting the coin on the tonearm doesn't tear the records up?

  • @synthburn Yeah, it sure do. I don't play anything on this turntable anymore. It was just for the video. But it's nice, isn't it?

  • This song makes me cry ;'(

  • Ritchie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 13 little deaf monkeys like to press red buttons

  • RITCHIEEEEEEE!!

  • Excellent Hawaiin slide guitar tune, sweet yet melancholy. I like the quarter on the tonearm for added counterbalance. Although it's used in the Labamba movie,it wasn't recorded until after Richie Valens Tragic death in 1958, but it has the effect for a memorable scene in that movie.

  • this song use to scare the shit out of me when i was little!

  • 1959, Santo and Johnny. " Sleepwalk" Jacksonville Beach Fl. Had to move there from Georgia. My Father' s job. Left all of my friends. New in school. Had to start all over at 13. Sad and lonely. And then there was Jean Arnold. I saw her and my world started turning again. Short blond hair, green eyes and the body of a 13 year old girl. WoW. We danced to this song. Thank you Santo and Johnny. But most of all " Thanks Jean. I have never forgotten you." I hope you' re still well.

  • The toy record player makes this song extremely haunting. For a lot of people back in the day, this was the best quality they could get.

  • I love this song but I always think of Pearl Harbor getting bombed because of that movie.

  • Or maybe it's because I relate it to Ritchie Valens movie LaBamba and that what puts me in the Blues

  • But it makes me feeling and left sad

  • You can't get any better than this.............♥ ♥ ♥

  • great great great video...

    thanks!

  • Happy times hehehe

  • The Shadows version is the best IMO

  • I'm breaking the replay button :)

  • What it's that? a new kind of technology? ;-)

  • Fukin beast ova song

  • This is a radio station signal sent into space that bounces back 48 years later

  • hahaa!!wow!!!

    is COOL!!

    VERY VERY ORIGINAL!!

  • Geeeezzzz with a quarter on the tone arm its gonna act like a small lathe and shave the grooves into the record.

  • You can still buy these record players, sony still makes them. Also to buy one of he older record players and possibly the vinyls garage sales are great for that! and i believe there are still some companies that will convert any cd onto a vinyl, dont know about the quality though.

  • nice record player set; envy you for that!!!

was some Stephen King movie; I believe Rose Red, where some psychic girl used to play this vinyl record over and over again on same kind of record player....

  • Good touch with the record. Thx.

  • Good Song. Bad Quality.

  • RITCHIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!

  • @pablostanley hehehehehehe epic Bob

  • awsome video :D

  • are the records and the machine still in production? the sound quality is very good even tho ur using a video camera that doesnt capture a lot of sound :)

    no offense tho

  • @chewbacawaka No and no. This stuff is old. I'm glad you like it, you can dig it. I'm a DJ now.

  • @fuzzprobe I see the old trick with the Quarter on the tone arm. How many times have I used that!

  • @chewbacawaka record players are still in production my grandpa bought me one this summer as for records you're going to have to dig around for those lucky for me my grandparents were avid music lovers and extreme neat freaks which results in near mint condition vinyls

  • If you could get a recording without the washer on spin cycle?

  • @bluedrache Haha...no!

  • reminds me fallout for some reason, and nostalgic times in Mexicali, i my grandmas shack during the summer time

  • man, what memories! putting coins on the armature, so it wouldn't skip! chops the hell outta the vinyl though. oh well. thanks for posting buddy.

  • Awesome vid!!!

  • HOLY SHIT

    let me buy this

would be great when im blazed

  • Great vid :)

  • This song is just magic !!!!

  • Wow this brings back memories, fantastic : )

  • If I could have grown up in any other decade besides the 90's, it would have definitely been the 50's.

  • If I was on a crashing plane or a sinking ship Id put this song on and say "fuck it man" with a big smile on my face :)

  • @hybridark252 The gypsy would say "Avoid all travel for 6 months." :)

  • Gets to me every time I hear it.

  • Geniaal!

  • de jay happy tunes! i love it!

  • so crisp!!! nice video

  • my father got this version too i love it *___*

  • nice! you just get that quality anymore. awesome song thanks for posting!

  • Are those a couple of quarters on the arm?

  • @SenhordoBonfim Yes sometimes an arm needs a little extra weight and a few quarters always do the trick. An expensive turntable has a means to adjust the weight of the arm.

    You are welcome. Sir David

  • @sixtiesforever1966 It's great to see. I remember putting some kind of coin on my old record player to keep it from skating across the vinyl. I had forgotten about that little trick! cheers.

  • Good night from The Netherlands!

Keijz74 just had to play this before going to bed ;o)#

    Regards, Marc

  • Thanks for posting, nice version!. like i mentioned recently, I can hear some notes of this tune in the Anthology song where the remaining Beatles in '95 (?) bring John Lennon's voice in from old tapes and seamlessly mix it. i had been wondering about this. wouldn't surprise me, all good music comes from the same source, good spiritual quality of song... 5/5!

  • WHY? is all the other versions of Sleep Walk by Santo & Johnny been removed from You Tube? Those filthy lawyers again? They need a good beating.

  • @sixtiesforever1966 They do.

    "SPANK!"

  • hahahah

    fuckin a bro. fuckin a

    ''where does it end...''

  • In Memory of Gary "Gary Bear" Maloff, R.I.P. Gone but not forgotten.

  • sound real!!!!! thats great .....

  • Wow I love this song so much!

It reminds me of Florida on the beach. Makes me feel so good!

  • A #1 hit by Santo & Johnny in September 1959. I will always associate this song with the Stephen King film, Sleepwalkers.

  • man this version of the song kicks ass i lovve the song you dont need words to express yourself lol love it!

  • what a creepy song!!!!:/

  • man....how i'd love to kick back and listen to some old tunes like this...i'm from oregon too :D

  • Awsome song.!!! Cool record player!!

  • Your turntable is sensational budy, good contribution is yours

  • Is your version of this 45 the Canadian International label #103 release? if so is the title Sleepwalk (1 word) or Sleep Walk (2 words), and is it credited to Santo & Johnny or Santo And Johnny.

I ask becuase I develop oldies crosswords "Rockwords" and try to be as accurate as possible in developing clues and answers for these puzzles.

  • @OgilvieMike It is "Sleep Walk" by "Santo & Johnny". Thanks for watching!

  • I'm fourteen and I love this song

  • MAN!! The good old days!! listening to the vinyl records on the record player... AWSOME SONG!! To bad. Those days are long gone...

  • @gunner1506 Long gone? Doubt it.

  • I love this song so much, I still remember this debuting on the radio on my 48th birthday and the fun I had that day.

  • Sooo freakin badass

  • Whats up with that quarter?

  • AWESOME :')

  • it is so crazy how the ridges on the vinyl are what creates the sound of every instrument in the song

  • CLASSIC real music, beautiful

  • nice fucking song i love ittttt

  • RIIIICCCCHHHHHIIIIIIEEEEEE!!!!

  • I love this song, I want this song to be played at my funeral.

  • That is a sweet record player!

  • this is beautiful...i want to dance to this with the boy i love and close my eyes :)

  • Awesome tune! My attitude is less is more, imperfections give it personality. Leave the crackle in! It captures the essence. I dont expect any kid now days to understand this. Records are making a comeback for good reason. This song moves me every time.

    Thanks for the upload!

  • this is cool. keep the old ways alive - somebody's got to

  • nice =]

  • for what some people calling the speaker crappy. its sounding pritty good to me and im wearing my big headphones that have good deep bass and great sound giving me the ability to hear it as if i were standing in that room with this guy.

  • the record player sounds a w e s o m e ! iPods are nice. I own a few... but there is nothing like the scratch of a record and a crappy speaker. Very nice man very nice

  • Was that a lawnmower, a Harley, or a VW Beetle?

  • Had one similiar to this. Had to put a quarter on the end of the arm because the arm was not heavy enough to get the correct sound through the speaker. Probably a collectors item not if it is in good shape. gave mine to my kid.

GREAT MUSIC THOUGH. Probably an original record, still scratchy though.

  • This is my fave video on the WHOLE of youtube,

I loved this track since I saw La Bamba in 1987

  • Magical and Beautiful!

    Thankyou!

  • I love this song! I don't know how to describe it ? there are many words but I can not find just one ....

  • Comment removed

  • Is that a quarter on th arm? We always had to use extra weight on the needle to keep it in the groove. Some 45's were worse than others.

  • did anybody hear the mower go off in the back

  • I want this recorder! And I want this as first song for my wedding too! I don't care if it's usually used in sad situations, it's what you make of it, it's all feeling, no need for words!
