Almost everybody compares Paul Rodgers to Freddie and that's just sad. I mean no one can sing as Freddie did and we will always miss him but Paul does an amazing job! And the thing that makes him really good is that he doesn't try to be like Freddie, he dose his own thing and that is admirable!
When I watched this I realized that only Paul could sing Queen songs with the original band and have enough credibility to call it Queen and Paul Rodgers! He does a good job.
nothing i hate worse than a critic or a detractor who spouts off just to be negative...it's not witty or intelligent. to me this is an entertaining tribute that stand on it's own legs...the band, queen, sounds fantastic and i'm happy to hear live takes on their classics and a little bad company for good measure...made me smile!
incredible, freddie wasnt the only member roger and brian were just as much queen as he was and since his death they made names for themselves. its great they returned as the greatest rock bad in history with a legendary singer who gave the songs his own twist. absolutely amazing!!!!!!!
brian ditch the guiter and get home mate winnie mandella has squated ur house .dont worry about the mess but the house prices of gone down round ur naibourhood .
Queen is not anymore with Paul Rodgers that made realize that Freddie was Unique and the best singing live sorry but this guy make more F.Mercury more likable
Paul rodgers is not trying to replace Freddie. No-one can, and paul knows that. I agree with what paul is doing though. letting the memory of Freddie and Queen live on and giving Brian & Rodger the chance to play live to an audience again
pr's voice is much better in this 2nd half. he was a bit sloppy on the first few songs! but i've seen them live so i won't knock him because he's brilliant. he's no freddie, he's just different.
anyone who critiscises paul rogers and the front man of "queen and paul rogers", just havent been to see them play live. i went in cardiff and i have to say it was the best live show i have ever been too. i thought a couple of songs wouldnt work but i was so wrong, onece you are thereyou just enjoy every bit of it.really want them to play glastonbury. but they wuld be hedlining and i would want to be at the front and probably ould die waiting at the front of pyramid stage all day. but id do it!
When Paul Rogers first joined Queen there doubts because of Freddie's legacy, and because of the type of performer Freddie was.
But I believe Paul and the rest of the group put all of the nerves and gooebumps behind them. They sound great, and Like Queen's version of all night long beter than Free.
they re stupid... i m not a huge fan of queen... but the rolling stone magazine as lost is soul 30 years ago...it was a great magazine in their 10-12 initial years...
they sold their soul to the world of plastic pop music and to mtv... i m sure that if the original members of the Rolling Stones mag. of the end of the 60s can read the actual mag... they will comit suicide or kill their mag in the egg...
Sure there s a few interesting article here or there... but they are just a marionnette now
Man, Paul Rodgers has NEVER sounded better, and after decades of performing!! It's amazing!
All the doubters, rest assured, all you have to do is watch this video and you know, you just know, Freddie has blessed this musical union. Even John Deacon endorses it.
Of course he would be, but he's sadly not. For me, this is an excellent alternative that's almost equally as good. Deacon endorsed them with Paul Rodgers and that's good enough for me.
im not sure what hes doing because i rang up sheffield arena to ask because i wanted to know if he was in that concert in october one im going to and said he has an illness that he wont give info out on
I love it that these very talented musicians are once again performing! Freddie would have wanted Queen to go on, and is probably watching his friends Brian and Roger and enjoying their music with us. Peace! :)
The only that can compare with Queen is Led Zeppelin just because the Beatles sold more albums than anyone else doesnt mean that they could play at the same level as Queen or Led Zep
I followed Paul Rodgers from the early days when he where the fron singer in his band Bad Company! And what a great band they was.And i will say Paul Rodgers is doing a hell of a good job in Queen!!He has a powerful and great voice!!
has Rodger Taylor put on the weight or what? reckon One Vision will sound shit hot once they nail it again! don't like the A kind of magic version from their concerts, but probaly all sounded good live thoguh! Rock On Queen! their new stuff should be more like Queen!
I have been a Queen fan since the 80's. They are still the best damn rock band in the world and one of the few that sound better on stage than in the studio
I think everyone is missing the point. Paul, Roger and Brian have been upfront and profuse that Paul Rodgers is NOT a replacement for Freddie. He is someone that they feel a musical chemistry with as far as new music and new directions. However, they still need to (and want to) perform their classic hits. Jimmy Buffett said that his concerts are 20% what he wants to play and 80% what he has to play. Enjoy your Queen and Bad Company cds, but enjoy the energy and excitement of the new show.
THX to Dave for getting this performance into the Tube without delay. HB to Nelson. Now, lets look forward to Persia arising from the ashes! Lets do it for Freddie, OK?
ha brian messed up the intro of all right now! lol... just goes to show, we think these big rockstars can do no wrong when it comes to their instrument, but it shows that they have to practice just as hard as we ordinary people have to! :D
Queen are certainly a good vehicle for Paul Rodgers to continue his career with...I cant say that he is a good choice to front the band though..if he were that good then John Deacon would be there as well. Just shows how good Freddie was.
Leontrap.... are you real ? What quality are you comparing it to ? There are no new ground breaking songs, the voice as you say does not compete, they are missing the original bass player, a creditable songwriter, are you a sound geek ? I think that Queen had some pretty good sound engineers from the start, give me Queen I on scratched vinyl to the current stuff any day. I saw this band without Paul Rodgers 22 times and they sounded pretty good to me!
