@sofiaclindiet cardio/vascular is one of the most hardest things to come and goes through one of the hardest residency and fellowships and takes as long to become as a neurosurgeon
@middimar See the hose sucking all the liquid out? that's what a Physician Assistant will be doing and also suture the open wound that the Surgeon made also maybe clamping things and holding certain things for the surgeon and the Physician Assistant will also watch over the patient in Post-op or PACU (post-anesthesia care unit) and do following check-ups after the surgery to make sure everything is healing correctly
Im going to be an cardiothoracic surgeon!!!! Yes, Im still in middle school but its good that I know what Im going to be by now. I know what to work for.
I am also interested in surgery. I study Neuroscience at Vanderbilt at the moment. It is good that you are driven, but I'd advise keeping your options open. Too many of the students here limit themselves to one thing. It should take time and experimenting with different subjects that you have an interest in to find your calling. Good luck!
@phonebook14 You can do anything you set your mind to. Trust me. I am starting medical school at UNM in Fall 2011. I also decided at a very young age that I wanted to be a cardiologist. Hang in there and know that all the hard work is worth it,ok?
