ATT&T is a rip off. To angry to post about the scam they tried to pull on me. Check your phone bills everyone. I tell ya, they are nickle and diming us to death.
I got ripped off by AT&T. They charged for data plans I didn't have, spent hours on the phone with those incompetent idiots trying to fix it. They promise to fix it in next bill, but then charged for more things afterwards. Eventually sent the unpaid account into collections and now its on my credit report. I am sending them a letter as a last resort and will contact attorney general if they dont reply.
Boycott AT&T!!!!!.......Fuck those Nazi's Always robbing people's hard earn money. once a company partners with AT&T. you are screwed. If you Agree Dislike this Video. companies should get smart quick and learn that if u mess with the customers that they will turn on them. Wort signal, worst billing, worst service
that little dot you are referring to is called the liquid damage indicator and if it is in any way red or pink, it means you have liquid damage to the device, and therefore, the liquid damage very well may be what is causing your device to not function properly. it is not a scam, every wireless provider checks the liquid damage indicator and that will void the warranty on the device, which is why they always suggest getting the insurance
@acoyle08 I created this video a while back when people were not aware about this. So, I was trying to create some awareness. Now days it is a standard practice to use this humidity indicator but even so there could be mechanical and/or electronic malfunctions that have nothing to do with water damage and yet if the indicator shows water contact they have an excuse to get out of repairing defective cell phones.
it doesnt matter what company you have if the liquid indicator has been tainted warranty will not replace reguardless if its AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, US Cellular ect. same policy for every company. period point blank the end.............
Yeah AT&T has screwed us a couple times too. My hub has a go phone and they say after you get $250 on your phone nothing else rolls over the money is just gone.
I called them back OVER AND OVER AGAIN logging the conversations. The question was: can this red dot be affected by transferring the phone from different temperatures, and also if the humidity in Florida could affect it.
After getting multiple and difereing answers, I contacted an AT&T supervisor, identifying who I talked with and what they said, FINALLY they sent me a new phone for free... only after I contacted the Better Business Beurau.
if you change companies the manufactures warranty is going to be the same its not att&t warranty its the manufactures. the red dot on the phone means your phone got wet and it does take direct exsposure to liquids to activate and oh yea the nav button on the phone would be damage as well DIDNT FALL OFF BY ITS SELF !!!!!!!!
Dude, that's fraud unless they can prove that the button falling-off has something to do with moisture. You should write your state attorney general's office or the Public Utility Commission, if you have one. Just tell them what happened and why you believe the company is cheating you.
I worked for AT&Ts insurance, though they shouldn't have asked about that, it still could be considered physical damage is the scroll quit working, and if they would have replaced it, they'd have sent you a full bill for the original price of the phone because of that red dot. When you get the phone it should be white, but even having the cell phone in your pocket or in your hand for long periods of time can cause condensation on the inside of the phone making the dot change colors.
It is dumb that they were not concerned with the problem and only focused on a non related warranty issue. But that just means they can do what they just did to you due to it being a warranty issue.
its not a humidity sensor, Its a water sensor, and it takes a lot of water to get one to turn red. We are talking along the lines of dropping it in a toilet, taking a shower with it, dropping it in the lake, and taking it from extreme cold to indoor temperatures.
If you insist that it never was exposed to these conditions, say it was pink from the start, and ESCALATE passed the first tier ****bag to a sup/etc .. and keep calling! they will eventually budge. Tell them the switch fell off.
Ok holmes, read the warranty terms and conditions next time you buy a phone. it CLEARLY states that the warranty only covers manufacturer defects. if you get your phone wet, it could (and in most cases, does) screw with the PAINTED circuitry on the inside of the phone. it's not wires and stuff, it's conductive paint. when water gets in, it could cause a short. if it doesn't cause a short, the water dries and leaves impurities, which could also cause a short.
The reason your phone would have been covered for the broken button, is probably only because there was a product advisory out on that specific device, for that specific problem. meaning it is a known manufacturer defect, and lots of others have had that problem. otherwise, it would be physical damage, and NOT covered under warranty. a warranty is a guarantee that the product will not fail as long as the terms and conditions are followed. and if it does, they replace it.
AT&T's licenses have been REVOKED by the BBB!! I LEFT THEM DUE TO POOR CALL QUALITY, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SEVICE, AND EVERYDAY DROPPED CALLS!! I HAD 2 WRITE THEM A NASY LETTER IN DALLAS TEXAS!! I LIVE CLOSE SO TRAVELING THERE TO GIVE THEM A PIECE OF MY MIND WAS NO PROBLEM!! THEY TRIED 2 MAKE ME PAY 250 CANCEL FEE.BUT I DIDNT HAVE TO PAY A PENNY AFTER I CALLED THE BBB!!
GO WITH VERIZON WIRELESS. THEY ARE THE LARGEST AND MOST DEPENDABLE WIRELESS CARRIER
My "Liquid damage indicating sticker" is White !! Yur phone has been exposed to LIQUID! or moisture, extreme temperature, ETC. Go ahead and switch your phone company because its the MANUFACTURER of the phone that puts the warranty policys in place. T-mobile, verizon, AT&T all use the same manufacturers. Motorola Samsung pantech nokia. Dont blame the service provider for your stupid mistake and complain about it to the world!
You sound like a smart and articulate person but you are wrong.
Pantech makes this phone but AT&T decides how to deal with the warranty.
If you dont believe me wait until your battery dies. If the phone is still less than a year old they will tell you to call Pantech directly. Because batteries are cover by pantech under their rules. (not by AT&T)
botton? you mean button. braking? you mean breaking. why do think that they asked him what color the sticker was first? because if it is wet then at&t does not have to replace it.
it should be white. and thanks for the heads up. sprint is bullshit as well. it takes forever just to get your bill paid. i believe all cell phone companies are like this. just trying to make money off of stupid shit.
The problem is, we depend on them too much and that gives them power. I know they pay pennies to a dollar on a phone; yet we pay hundreds of dollars for a decent phone. When I go to Mexico I buy a nice phone for $30 bucks but it does not work here. Also in Mexico you don't pay a cent when you receive a phone call only when you make it. Here they spend more money blocking phone signal than making the reception better. oh well...
When it turns red, it means that the phone has either been water-damaged or exposed to water at some point of it's life.
There have been accounts, though, of people having the little white dot turn red just from being in too humid of a place. Unfortunately, this means that the cell phone carrier or company won't touch the phone as it's classified as "water-damaged".

I would leve to know what the precise scientific process is/was that made that red dot? They should be forced to disclose the technical aspects.
Was it a measure of all the cumulative atmospheric water/humidity that the phone ever encountered? Or did it take a specific episode of truly getting wet to make it turn?
Unless, you actually did allow the phone to get seriously wet at some point; then you're getting screwed......and AT%T is getting away with corporate theft.
I never got it wet!!! They even asked me to describe how clean the battery contacts were because they thought they would be rusty! They were clean and shiny though and the phone was fully functional
I am dealing with it... that's why I did this little video and wrote an extensive letter to AT&T with signatures of about 200 people who support me and will change companies as soon as their 2 years are over.
I am AT&T customer and I have no problem with AT&T high speed internet and TV. I think maybe good idea you go to AT&T store tell them you want to close AT&T account but that will fee you about $200 like I did cancel my T-Mobile cellphone few months ago and I paid $200 for close account.
AT&T is a rip off! It took me 4 months of fighting with them just to disconnect my phone after switching to another company, They kept sending me bills for disconnected phone lines. and its still not over, its bullshit! The worst nightmare iv'e ever been through!
Also, I want to add that if you use your phone a lot; there is a chance that it will break quicker yet AT&T want's you to use it a lot so they can make more money from you on usage(minutes). And don't even get me started on the microwaves you are running through your brain with cell phones.

1.- This had nothing to do with the manufactures warranty. The phone was not very old and covered by AT&T not Pantech.
2.- The red dot does not necessarily mean that the phone was exposed to liquids. Humidity will turn it red as well.
3.- The button did fall off by its self but certainly not because of water...
but thanks for your time!
