My last point: here is a good rule of thumb for truth. Ask a person if they are sure where they are going after they die. Here is the real problem in it all. People say they believe in a "Higher power". The bible tells us to be specific, and to know who we worship. Personally, I hate anything that is disputed or is kept secret. The bible clearly teaches that one must find salvation in Jesus of Nazareth, and that there is no salvation outside of Jesus. So, in effect, if a person just believes in a higer power it's not good eneough: they must believe in Christ for their salvation or they simply won't receive it. AMEN

That's the sense that it's meant in, the master bit, well that's no different from referring to the headteacher of a school as the Head master, the master of a lodge has earned his place through working through the offices and by being voted by the members. @mariusdire I wouldn't accept someone forcing their faith on me, so I won't do that to them, hence they're books are welcome alongside mine, likewise we use a name that no religion claimed so that brothers can pray together without either feeling offended. As for blood oaths, the name for the 'punishments' are the SYMBOLIC penalties, referring to the pain that any honourable man would feel on breaking his word. Such language was common in the enlightenment era.

@opsvideo2008 Actually, Fremasonry requires belief in God. The idea of not being a mason is related to Catholicism. Catholics are not excommunicated for being Freemasons, though. They are just not allow to take communion.

I read part of the intro in the book and its obvious that Mr. Ronayne was disgruntled with the lodge and found a way to make some money from it. @oscarmarin1995 The "higher ranking Masons" claim is a common fallacy. Even though there are 33 degrees, the 3rd degree is the highest degree in Masonry. The others are called apendant bodies. Albert Pike was no higher a Mason than I am. As a Master Mason, I could say all kinds of things about Masonry but that wouldn't make them true. Also,using your argument if you are not a Mason, wouldn't that make me "higher ranking" than you? Shouldn't I know what you know and then some?
@ImplantedAgenda Not "higher" than a Master Mason or 3rd degree. Their are two appendant bodies, the Scottish Rite and the York Rite. The Scottish Rite starts at the 4th degree and goes up to 33rd. The York Rite starts at 4th degree and goes up to 14th (I think). None of the degrees are higher than Master Mason. I would be similar to two Sargeants in the military. One has a chest full of service ribbons, the other doesn't but they are at the same level.

At the end Red says "Two States have been added to our country,and two words have been added to the Pledge of Allegiance- 'under God'." @dbs55denis Slavery was rampant in the early days of the U.S., but I don't think it's accurate to say that the country was "created" by slavery; it was created by flawed people who nevertheless strove for the most equitable form of government they could design. There's ample room for criticism of America's past and current practices, but that doesn't negate that America has also displayed nobler traits as well - and can still, if we are committed to do it.

Interesting video, I have reason to believe that Freemason's are divinely inspired. However, It's unfortunate that Freemason's have chosen to completely exclude women from their organization. My last point: here is a good rule of thumb for truth. Ask a person if they are sure where they are going after they die. Here is the real problem in it all. People say they believe in a "Higher power". The bible tells us to be specific, and to know who we worship. Personally, I hate anything that is disputed or is kept secret. The bible clearly teaches that one must find salvation in Jesus of Nazareth, and that there is no salvation outside of Jesus. So, in effect, if a person just believes in a higer power it's not good eneough: they must believe in Christ for their salvation or they simply won't receive it. AMEN

As for blood oaths, the name for the 'punishments' are the SYMBOLIC penalties, referring to the pain that any honourable man would feel on breaking his word. Albert Pike was no higher a Mason than I am. As a Master Mason, I could say all kinds of things about Masonry but that wouldn't make them true. @ImplantedAgenda Not "higher" than a Master Mason or 3rd degree. Their are two appendant bodies, the Scottish Rite and the York Rite. The Scottish Rite starts at the 4th degree and goes up to 33rd. The York Rite starts at 4th degree and goes up to 14th (I think). None of the degrees are higher than Master Mason. I would be similar to two Sargeants in the military. One has a chest full of service ribbons, the other doesn't but they are at the same level.

At the end Red says "Two States have been added to our country,and two words have been added to the Pledge of Allegiance- 'under God'." Then Red asks; "Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said that was a prayer; and that would be eliminated from schools too?" So I don't see any duplicity here; but "Thanks for playing" ;-) ;-) ;-)

@dbs55denis Slavery was rampant in the early days of the U.S., but I don't think it's accurate to say that the country was "created" by slavery; it was created by flawed people who nevertheless strove for the most equitable form of government they could design. There's ample room for criticism of America's past and current practices, but that doesn't negate that America has also displayed nobler traits as well - and can still, if we are committed to do it.

@ducktapepilot But he is no higher than a 3rd Degree Master Mason, the Aincient and Accepted Rite is an appendent order which consists of 33 Degrees. I would sugguest you read the forth coming book. "American Masonic Orders" by S Brent Morris and learn about the structure of Freemasonry
