  • i have these toilets at my denthtist office . they are in the waiting room . there is no stalls .2 bathrooma the first one had the origional handle and fluidmaster pro fillvalve with plastic down shaft and tilt valves are replaced the flapper has a black ball on it you have to hold down the handle . the second one had the same flapper but no ball on it .

  • where I went to high school, they had these toilets in a mid 60s built portable classroom until they tore down the building

  • What kind of fillvalve does that toilet have? That's my favorite model toilet! Did the old handle break? It seems like it's a different one. Thank you.

  • @jhenry1041 I'm not sure what kind of fill valve it has. Next time I go back I'll check. My guess about the handle is that when they took out the old fill valve, they probably put in an all in one kit (flapper, fill valve, and handle), even though there was probably nothing wrong with the old handle or flapper.

  • @sanders8323 If you find it has the original fillvalve, please let me know. I'd like to exchange for one. I have a couple of different ones. Thank you Sanders!

  • You don't see many American Standards with the full gothic style logo as tank models. Great find.

  • I was surprised to find it too. You usually see the old tank models with the stack logo.

  • @sanders8323 Ive seen the tank model with the gothic the majority of the time. Ive seen the stack about four times and the gothic about ten.....

  • This is probably one of a couple I've seen with the Gothic full name logo. I've seen dozens of Cadets with the stack logo.

  • @sanders8323 Ive seen the ones with the gothic alot cuz There is a hotel in anaheim I say at thats filled with them.

  • That sucks! You should rescue one after they rip 'em out.

  • no year, show me! I think it's early 1970

  • If it were early 1970, it would have the stack logo with the little design beside the writing. This one has the gothic American-Standard logo which was redesigned in early 1968, probably shortly after this toilet was manufactured.

  • WhaT year Cadet is this

  • Early 1968

  • Sanders does this toilet back flushYou know what I mean, after you flush the pee comes back in the bowl alittle

    Eric

  • My church has an elongated version of this. But the passing gas sound in the beginning of the flush is a little shorter .

  • This was from the mid to late sixtys cuz the logo in the early sixties was black

  • @bakedpotato1678 Cool didn't know that.

  • wow thats a long flush how old do you mean by vintage? ps miss cleo you suck close youere account

  • @elevatorfreak112 I'm not exactly sure, but I'd guess early 60s.

  • i see bad things happening to you in the near future if you don't delete your account

  • @MissCleoElevation Stop with your psychic bull shit please. Why don't you delete your account so you can't harass others for no apparent reason.

  • What kind of fill valve did it have?

  • @MrBrombomb I don't remember at the moment. I'll check it out again soon at my next appointment which is in a few days.

  • I like how fast those old american standard toilets flush

  • it sure is.

  • I am guessing this toilet was made either in the late 60s to around 1971. 1972 is when I think they changed the font of "American Standard"

  • Actually the stack logo first appeared on printed material in 1967, and I think it was at least the spring of 1968 that it began to appear on the fixtures as well.

  • This toilet would date from circa 1962 to 1967.

  • I check in the tank but couldn't find a date, but I knew it was from the 60s. This is a house that was made into a dentist's office. There was one more bathroom, but the toilet is a low flow Kohler Wellworth with Ingenium flush. I didn't even bother filming that one. I'm guessing there was another Cadet in there before it was replaced.

  • The date of mfg. as printed inside the tank would read something like this: "JUL 21 6" (July 21, 1966).

  • I'll check next time I go back.

  • Just from the minor details I would guess early 60s.
