  • She had the correct order, except the hair care and the corn switching places.

  • You had to put an expensive one in the mailbox, the two mediums in the first floor, the small and large one in the top floor, and the most expensive in the atic

  • Whats sick about this is that I added up the Apple products and would have bid $2775... Which was one dollar below the actual retail price... However I must admit I knocked off a few hundred dollars to be safe, so obviously I was just lucky to arrive at my total.

  • This is the worst pricing game I have ever seen. This game and Plinko needs to retire. They are both boring compared to Any Number and Lucky Seven (which those are the best games). Rat Race > Pay the Rent.

  • First time seeing this game ever... and i gotta say the inventor of this game is a genius. A vast majority of players will always put the lowest price item in the mailbox because that "seems" logical but they will have no chance to win. The $10,000 is a virtual cinch to get but I have a feeling most players would go on and lose everything since they'll think they played it perfectly.

  • Pay The Rent is a game I can sort of play like Gas Money with the following elements you can find.

    - If you miss, you lose everything.

    - You can stop and take the money.

  • The historic 40th season of "The Price is Right" starts Monday September 19 on CBS.

  • The opening to this game gives me goosebumps every time.

  • Consumerism at its best.

    Bull shit.

  • I particularly don't like George Gray...ever since the Weakest Link, he's been annoying.

  • I wish Jd got the job :(

  • I didn't know that JD Roberto had a background in improv or George Gray (who got the job) for that matter either.

  • They changed the intro music to Pay the Rent now. It sounds more jazzed up now IMO.

  • After having just read Brave New World I find the intro very disturbing.

  • Wow, Rebecca fine.

  • if you want rich fields back, SIGN THE PETITION at ipetitions . com/petition/bringbackrichfields/ & sign. help bring rich back to the show before mike richards destroys it all.

  • I just realized something since this season started TPIR has had JD Roberto,Jeff Davis,Brad Shearwood,David Lawrence, George Gray and just a couple of days ago Steve White all of them have done the announcing duties and I'll bet you that all of those guys have either worked on a game show before this or work with Drew back when he did 'Whose Line' I know that TPIR has Carey's Cuties but I think they should have a female announcer one of these days I'm just throwing it out there

  • @cooksta4prez08

JD Roberto hosted Shop Til You Drop, George Gray hosted the half hour version of the Weakest Link and Extreme Gong (I believe), Jeff Davis and Brad Sherwood were on Whose Line is it Anyway? like you said and I had no idea who Steve White or David Lawrence were before I saw them on the Price is Right. You sure are right about the whole game show thing for the most part anyway. I hope that helps you out : )

  • Like the "Hole In One" pricing sequence without the golf.

  • Everytime the old cue music is played, like the one played when the products are described for "Pay The Rent", it always reminds me how much myself and everyone else misses Bob Barker, since that cue music was played during his tenure...

  • This is inspired by deal or no deal clearly

  • They need a $100,000 game cause THE RENT IS TOO DAMN HIGH!

  • @wschmrdr

    Nice SNL reference. : )

  • @animegal2686 It was actually pointed towards this state's most recent gubernatorial race, but I suppose if you're not from around NYS, you'd hear from SNL.

  • @wschmrdr

You guessed correctly, I'm from WI: born and raised. : )

  • The first time I saw this game was yesterday. It is being played for $100,000. This game, "Golden Road", "Temptation", "Triple Play" "Gas Money", and "Plinko" are the six big-money pricing games. What happened to Rich Fields?

  • 2:20 DUMBASS ALERT!!!

    Bid $1 but lucky!

  • JD is a penis. Just saying.

  • @Charmolution Got that right.

  • the only good thing about this season: the intro sequence (the light border and the way the logo comes on the screen) and the pay the rent intro (the big sign coming down)

  • All this improv comedy stuff is really trashing the show. Mike Richards fired an experienced announcer just to replace him with an improv comedian, who acts as an announcer rather than being one. There is absolutely no such thing as a "variety show within a game show". This is exactly why I don't watch it anymore.

What should not happen to The Price is Right is what should happen to America's Funniest Home Videos. At least that show needs some humor like it had in the 1990s.

  • @MegastarLV I couldn't agree with you more.

  • @joeyboy8791 Same, Rich Is the one who DESERVES to Announce.

  • @MegastarLV In all honesty...I just watched the clip and watched the show in my downtime this week...I haven't seen ANYTHING coming close to AFHV. I

  • @urbanpreppie05 In other words... ?

  • @MegastarLV I don't understand where the "improv" comedy stuff is hurting the show, or even IN the show. It's just not there. The only thing that is different from last year is more banter between The announcer, host and models.

  • @urbanpreppie05 The improv comedy is still to come (hopefully it won't). That's exactly what executive producer Mike Richards wants on the show & it might progress more & more as episodes go by, & Richards wants an improv comedian to be the shows announcer. Improv comedy shouldn't be on TPIR. It should be on a show like AFHV (it was somewhat like that when Bob Saget was the host).

  • @MegastarLV It's been THREE months of shows. We have yet to see improv-usually the show tries things at the start of the season (like the comedy based showcases Drew wrote (and stopped) a season or two ago. We haven't seen any so far, no new statements of Richards saying its coming (just new games and holiday shows) so wouldn't it be best to just wait and see what happens?

  • @urbanpreppie05 Yeah, I know. We should all wait. Maybe Rich Fields might come back...

  • @MegastarLV Really go watch Barney and Friends

  • @rightfootrayray Nice try, spammer... lol

  • @MegastarLV There is NO improv in the show. Just because they said they might do it, doesnt mean it will.

  • @urbanpreppie05 That's what I've been noticing recently. And the fact that Rich Fields is gonna be the announcer for Drew Carey's upcoming improv show on GSN really makes things ironic.

  • @MegastarLV Go look up the definition of the word irony.

  • @urbanpreppie05 He got fired from TPIR to be replaced by an improv comedian. A new improv show will soon air on GSN with Rich as the announcer. Better think twice!

  • 6:50 - people were already shouting No!!, when Drew said the cat food has to be more than cleaner and hair care to win 100k $

  • Also, nice to see that Drew's doing his best to become this generation's watered-down ignoramus version of Bill Cullen.

  • 0:01 - The absence of Rich Fields is immediately staggering.

What an atrocious design for such a crappy game. For starters, the payout is way to staggering. Save the 100k for the primetime shows. Also the whole concept is kinda stupid, it's dumb to have a game where in theory the contestant's right but turn out to be wrong just because they put an item in the wrong spot. Like saying "Your addition is right, but it's also wrong because you didn't add properly"

  • What happened to Drew? They sucked him or something? He looks as thin as a straw...

  • The face she makes at 3:07 reminds me of Snooki off of Jersey Shore....haha

  • this is easily a game that will be played 1-2 times a month.

  • to all you people who say this game is too hard, this game should be hard if it's for $100,000, the most money they're giving away for a game. just sayin

  • When will we find out who the permanent announcer is? I kinda liked JD from the start and Jeff is starting to grow on me now, I wish I knew who it was already.

  • biggest set...i think the short lived shower game from 1979 still has that honor, they needed the race game curtain AND the magic red curtain to conceal that game it was so big..

  • I think this game is VERY HARD to play. I don't think we will have any winners playing the game. I don't even think there is a solution on how to play this game either.

  • @srf1969 There is a solution and it's actually fairly obvious but it will be hard to do on the show, definitely.

You have to put the 2nd highest priced item ($5.99) on the bottom level.

Then put the second and third lowest priced items on level two ($2.98, $3.49 = $6.47)

Then the lowest priced item and third highest priced item on level three ($1.49, $5.49 = $6.98)

Finally, the highest priced on the top level alone ($7.30).

  • @ColorOfSakura I agree. Everyone always makes the mistake of putting the lowest priced product on the bottom. You don't need two items to overcome a 99 cent can of soup! lol

  • I kinda know the strategy to this game....you don't wanna use the smallest price for the first level. You need to use one of the middle prices, then the next level, use one of the lower priced prizes and a high priced prize without using the highest priced prize and then so on....just just gotta know which one to pick....LOL

  • she iz stupid she should stay at ten thousand dollars

  • I'm glad the gold "Come on Down" border is back, and that they show the cieling lights as Drew comes out. These things should've never stopped.

  • @ Those who replied to me: yeah sure. But If won (9_9) $100,000 I'll be doing alot more than paying some damn rent!!

  • It looks like the largest pricing game they've ever had.

  • thumbs up if you think JD Roberto is the best of the 3 announcers that the show has

  • @Leafer92 Thumbs down. Rich Fields is better.

  • @MegastarLV im talking about the ones they have now :P not the former ones ;D

  • @Leafer92 Yeah, I know. It just isn't the same without Rich. Well, I'd say JD would do.

  • brad sherwood > jd roberto > jeff davis

  • Slightly off topic, but, at this point, I'm hoping they choose JD as the permanent announcer. He actually sounds like a decent announcer and I'm hoping that he lands the job. I'm probably the only one who wants that but that's okay.

I'm probably the only one who wants that but that's okay, everyone's is entitled to their own opinions.

  • they should raise the values... it should be 5k, 10k, 25k then 100k.

  • The set looks spiffy, but I don't think this game will ever get won.

  • I gotta say if I had the opportunity to win $100,000, I'd want it to be presented like it is in this game to that exact music. I have to give props to Adam (Sandler) for coming up with this game because it seriously kicks ass.

  • This game is hard because you have to put the products in such a way that each level is more than the last. People usually think "Oh. Let's put the least expensive product on the bottom." Unfortunately it does not work that way.

    Cat Food(7.30) = 7.30 (Lose)

    Cleaner(5.49) + Hair Care(5.99) = 11.48

    Cinnamon(2.98) + Pizza(3.49) = 6.47

    Corn(1.49) = 1.49

    Cat Food(7.30) = 7.30 (You win $100,000! Hooray!)

    Cleaner(5.49) + Corn(1.49) = 6.98

    Cinnamon(2.98) + Pizza(3.49) = 6.47

    Hair Care(5.99) = 5.99

  • drew looks very very creepy with his weight loss

  • @BigEragon

No offense, but I don't think so.

  • I'm sorry but what does this new game have to do with Paying the rent?

  • @Lottech96

I think they wanted people to be able to pay off their mortgage.

  • @Lottech96 you win enough money to pay the rent

  • At 3:01 to 3:18, it's really great music. Suspense music to me. Wow!

  • Anyone who wins the 100K and a showcase would probably be the all-time daytime TPIR winner...

  • @dablommer2010 How about 100K plus the showdown of both 1K, and 25K, and both showcases. Would that get someone to being the biggest winner in daytime gameshow history?

  • @MrBennetzen more then most likely yes. excluding shows like who wants to be a millionaire yes. you figure that 100k +26k is 126k already. showcases average about 25-30k nowadays, so tack on another 60k. 186k on the low end is pretty amazing. and it would definitely beat the record. which stands at like 150k

  • @LtSeth242 The record for the all-time daytime gameshow is $173,064 set by To O'Brian on Sale of the Century.

  • @MrBennetzen not in a single day no its not. single day winnings is $147,517 set by Vickyann Sadowski, who double showcased on the 35th season premiere of TPIR. To O'Brian's accumulation of $173,064 was won over the course of many days as champion, correct? If I am wrong ill admit it, but i believe it is set by her, on this show.

  • @LtSeth242 I was going by the cumulative total so I do agree with you.

  • @MrBennetzen oh okay. :) i thought when he had asked his question, it was implying single day records, hence the reasons why i began to mention vickyann.

  • Drew Carey looks good with the weight loss

  • i <3 becky!

  • The rules for "Pay The Rent" are a little bit similar to "Gas Money."

  • She screwed up listening to the audience. She really didn't hear the instructions and the dumb audience didn't either. Right away, they thought the items should be put in ascending order from lowest price to highest. You really would have to know the price of the items to figure it out. The easiest would be figuring out the most expensive, The hardest was the math to keep it in descending order.

  • Unless you a matematics with groceries. The Cat Food was right, but she mess up on the mailbox, first and second floor. It's not suppose to be in order.

  • now its official no more mds cuz they used that sign 4 the game

  • I wish that they had revamped Plinko before Bob retired, it would have been cool to have seen plinko revamped to the way it looks now before Bob left the show, I kind of like the new look of Plinko, especially with the classic dollar logos on the steps going up to the top of the Plinko board.

  • when i first saw this last week, I was like damn thats alot ot think about! but then after a while i kinda got it

  • Wow Pay the rent is so confusing. No wonder the ratings are down.

  • I don't care how you describe the light-border, I'm just glad they got rid of the one from last season. It looked awful.

  • I HATE THIS NEW PRICING GAME!!!! "PAY THE RENT" SUCKS!!!!! IF YOU WANT SEE CONTESTANT WIN $100,000, GO WATCH THE "$100,000 PYRAMID" WITH DICK CLARK!

  • @4PMGame

    shut the FUCK UP!

  • @4PMGame Except the $100,000 Pyramid has not had a new episode in over 20 years.

  • Drew Carey lost 80lbs.

  • I want the extra comma and zero from the sign. They're probably not using it anymore.

  • Third new game to debut, since Drew Carey took over.

  • This is like Tower of Cash, Greed (game show), and Hole-in-One (or Two) all rolled into one and on steroids!!

  • @SaleGuy What do you mean by Tower of Cash?

  • @JeopardyandWheelFan One of BigJon's created pricing games!

  • I think we can all understand the trick to this game

  • LOL she would have won $500 if she was playing Hole in One.

  • thats not old school running lights there new running lights with circles wich was how it was meant to be but for the previous 2 seasons the borders weren't circles, the retro lights from season 35 and before are half that size

  • 8:29 There would have been the time to cut and run and herre it comes.

8:50 * buzz and for those who hate the new mixed fail cue only mute it on your speakers* :literally rolling eyes in disgust: I do like how the way it was set up and that $100,000 is on the line great clip none the less.

  • Drew lost all that Weight like Al Roker.

  • how could she think cat food that expensive? unless she just didn't think!

  • I think it will take time for the audience, viewers, and hopefully the contestant to realize it's not a simple least to most expensive game. The most expensive item goes on the top, that's for sure. But it's the item that's priced in the middle there that goes in the mailbox.

  • LOL 8:41 Rebecca you better hope catfoods expensive. Like if she hope it's expensive, that's gonna turn it to expensive.

  • HOLY CRAP, the prize WASN'T a fucking Ford Escort!???

  • I'd probably have a heart attack if I ever got on stage and the lights dimmed for this game.

  • Pay the Rent is pure evil. Why? Look at the reaction of the audience before the last item. They think its least to most expensive. It isn't. The items TOGETHER.

  • I cant believe this is Season 39 and how much weight Drew has lost

  • @chuckers40 Yeah, on the other hand, some fans might confuse him as a future Bill Cullen. On a side note, Drew made the right choice of losing weight. I wanna know his secret!

  • @Rlotpir1972 the news feed i read was he has 1 simple and very stricked rule: NO DONUTS! lol. yes he sure did make a gr8 choice. happy viewing :)

  • I have a feeling that it's going to be played rarely since it's a huge prize.

  • The biggest pricing game since Plinko debuted in 1983.

  • answer

    top = 7.30

    third floor = 5.49+1.49 = 6.98

    second floor = 2.98+3.49 = 6.47

    first floor = 5.99

    that's hard :(

  • @moszaa333 She lost by so little, with the corn in the mailbox, and cleaner in the tub rather than the way it goes in your description. Cleaner in the mailbox and the corn on the 2nd level. Though if you could get 100,000 dollars by getting the items to in ascending order as far the price, she would've won.

  • Who is the new Rich Fields?

  • @lakersfan110293 JD Roberto this week (not permanent).

  • @stvsafiria Hopefully none of them will be permanent. Rich ought to return.

  • @lakersfan110293 JD Roberto, this sucks! I missed Johnny Olson, Rod Roddy and Rich Fields.
