  • Yea i think thats my problem now. Ive been going to sleep at like 4-5 in the morining almost every day and ive recently started to break out. Ill try going to bed by 10:30 for the next couple days and ill repost if it made a difference

  • That's ironic that you say the liver heals itself between 11pm and 2am because that's exactly the time frame I'm usually out destroying it with booze!

  • Every time I don't get sleep I always get a cystic pimple under my right eye and it looks like a black eye. Happens nearly Every time I go without sleep.

  • Thanks for the great video! My Haitian parents would stress the importance of sleeping early and waking early but I never took heed. I find it difficult to sleep before 2am and Im always tired even after I've been fully waken for over an 1. I will definitely try sleeping earlier.

  • Isn't it weird and amazing how our bodies work. It's true though, our bodies can look at the clock and tell time, but oh well. I've read on the Internet that the amount of sleep isn't as important as the quality of sleep. So even if I go to sleep at 12 am and wake up at 8 or 9 is still not good enough if you couldn't sleep well. Nice info!

  • Wow that's so cool i know you have a biological clock and everything but i had no idea that your body creates this chemical to make you sleepy. :) Well during the holidays i tend to sleep @ 10:30pm and wake up at like 9:00am but maybe i should be waking up @ 7:00 or 6:00 am like when the sun rises maybe that would be better getting 8 hours of sleep instead of 10

  • You aren't even kidding. I've been sleeping 8 hours/night for the past few days and my face is dramatically smoother.

  • The best treatment for acne is drinking water!!! believe me drink min.12 glasses of water a day, try it for a week and sit back and watch the difference !

  • Lol my mom also tells me sleep affects acne. Some people disagree, since they sleep late and don't recieve pimples. However you would be the lucky ones with better genes I suppose.

  • hi,i wanna share somthing related 2 acne 2,i just realise if i brush my teeth b4 slp,there is no new acne appear but if i dont,new acne always appear,on forehead,nose,cheek.so i think brush ur teeth b4 sleep do help in reducing acne.My theory is,when we sleep our saliva fall out and spread 2 our face,f there is oil in d saliva that will probably causing new acne&sleep early does help 2 since a friend of mine who has clear healthy skin, told me he since puberty always go to sleep at 10.30pm.

  • Hi, sleep (and at the right time) is really important for me... I'm 16 years old and during christmas I stayed awake until 4am every night and I developed even worse acne than before (huge imflamed spots that took up to 2 months to go). Maybe because my liver didn't heal properly and so the bad stuff had to be expelled through my skin? I think all factors like sleep, diet etc need to be taken care of all at the same time though

  • It's actually very easy.

    1. Get enough sleep, but also sleeping early and waking up early is good.

    2. Drink enough water (also, don't eat too many oily and salty things)-very important

    3. Don't touch your face if your hands are dirty, but don't rub your face even if your hands are clean are not because it stresses your skin.

    4. Wash your face 2-3 times a day and don't forget to moisturize your face with oil free facial lotion. (You're going to have to find a good one)

  • Reasons for the 4 things I listed:

    1- Getting enough sleep regulate the hormones (hormone problems cause more than a acne problem

    2. Water hydrates your face which prevents pimples from popping out. (It also keeps your face younger too!)

    3. Bacteria causes pimples...

    4. You should only wash this amount of times a day because overdoing it could dry your face up. (Dry skin usually triggers oil production AND bacterias LOVE oil MORE than water.)

    i have changed two things.

    When i started sleeping earlier i noticed a positive difference.

    but major improvement came from taking cooler and shorter showers.

    i use to take long hot showers.

    I guess that it drys up your skin making acne worse.

    my acne is 80% gone.

  • @SmashBrosBrawl You may want to check your water too. Certain types of water can actually drain your skin of nutrients believe it or not.

  • @SmashBrosBrawl That's fine, just remember that there are impurities all around us. While this is not to make you paranoid, it's important to be aware. I drink regular water too but some people may be sensitive.

  • hey ray do you know how to get rid of acne scars? I've basically cleared up my skin but I still have a lot of annoying marks on my face.
