  • Do you need some sort of amp of speaker to hear the triggered drums out of?

  • you shoud put a video up of you playing your toms with the internal mics

  • Chris Adler called, he wants his presets back

    nice sound dude

  • I can only do this technique if I use my left hand and hit the drum on the side instead of the front like you. lol. Fun thing to practice on drums though.

  • the second is psychosocial - limits of the dead part isnt it?

  • @hairydrummer98 Several people have said that, but I've never heard that song and didn't base these off of anything. With all of the metal out there that uses double kick pattern of course the odds are that any pattern has been used before haha.

  • @hairydrummer98 Not even close.

  • looks like a Pearl Sound check kit, but i might be wrong, what model/maker?

  • @Gr1zz3m Tama superstar SK with a metalworks snare.

  • Hey how do you get your snare to sound that punchy?

  • @xXParanormalPunxXx its triggered

  • @dustyowl99 No it isn't. The kick drum is, but the snare just has an sm57 mic on it.

  • @xXParanormalPunxXx I tighten the heads way up. It sounds more punchy than usual when the kick drum hits at the same time too.

  • power blast much

  • @supdenfoosukka dude are you joking... look at the title of the video... GRAVITY BLAST EXAMPLE... and you werent expecting a bunch of gravity blasts in the video?..

    gtfo

  • @DrUmsRiPDrummer ? don't get a fat dick

  • What ride cymbal do you use??

  • @OMGwaffles123 A custom projection

  • That has to be the most original drumming I have heard. Interesting way to burst the gravityblasting along the bassdrum. Sounds awesome!

  • pretty good shit man, but whats the point of doing the gravity blast here? youre not doing anything significant with the left hand, may aswell just use it with the right to makee the snare roll better, or at least do something with the left hand since u clearly dont need it for the snare roll lol

  • I liked

  • what drum module is this

  • that was killer, keep em coming duder

  • That was sick dude

  • Axis Longboards with Iron Cobra beaters? By the way, nice gravity blast out there!

  • This shit sucks...you have now sense of rythym what so ever.

  • SOUND EDGE HI HATS!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • F'n brutal sound, man. :D

  • skillz

  • Are those Axis Long-boards?

  • @andy15m374l Nice, how would you compare them to other pedals you've uses?

  • @andy15m374l What makes them different then any other pedal? Does it make it easier to get a nice powerful sound?

  • pretty bad ass

  • some people should understand their rudiments before they go commenting lol.

  • Dont just burst the gravity, keep it going it would sound better

  • @ChetterNugget That would be the obvious and needless thing to do.

  • @andy15m374l

But it would be the coolest, still good tho.

  • @ChetterNugget Actually doing the gravity in bursts sounds pretty cool

  • that was pretty sweet bro. Ive been workin on single strokes like that myself ( or gravity blasts if thats what you wanna call the) im impressed by how clean you play them and double the rhthym in you feet at the same time. nice job

  • This is really cool. I've never heard gravity blasts used like this before. Good work.

  • sounds like a jackhammer

  • dude i got an alesis dm5 but if i hit the snare to hard it triggers the bass drum how do i fix that?

  • @PROJECT86DRUMMER You need to adjust the gain or sensitivity(whatever they call it on that particular unit).

  • is that single

  • this video made me giggle, its not bad, but the simple rhythms are executed in such a way it jus made me giggle. TY

  • Which drum module is it?

  • @iflookscouldk1ll Roland TD3. I later got rid of it and a got a DM5. The kick sounds on the TD3 are way too bassy and need eq.

  • Shit

  • @basicalyimsam And you could do better? Of course you could. why dont you go take your stupid skater punk ass somewhere else?

  • @FrikkFelix coming from some kid with a south park character for his avatar =]

  • @M3talCovers see thats my point. i said in a separate comment that its not the EXACT same thing. this guy just plays it faster. and when this guy switches over to lead with the cymbal instead of the hihat, thats the beat thats in psychosocial.

  • @thereality619 umm.. yeah. it is close. u ppl obviously cant recognize drum beats at all.

  • Holy fuck, that bass is sexaaaaaaay

  • to anyone saying that his 2nd beat isnt in psychosocial, u've obviously never heard the song before. it may not be the EXACT same thing, but it IS generally the same thing. go halfway thru psychosocial and the beat changes. thats where u'll find it, fuckers

  • @jeff7150 No. Psychosocial break is 12 beats. The thing he does is much faster and about 17 beats. I don't even like Slipknot AT ALL! The only reason I know this is because of Guitar Hero and a good ear!

  • dude u tune bass drums like freaking amazing

  • damn,that sounds great

  • The drummer for Deep Purple taught me that rim bounce thing, but I've never seen it done for a blast beat.

    Nice :P

  • @Sykolprchaun

btw,it´s called gravity blast and it´s used from time to time in death metal/deathcore and other genres

  • i love the sound of your drums

  • what kind of heads do you have!

  • its a shame you play shitty music. such talent, gone to waste

  • how did u make it sound so good?

  • This is tight.

  • is that your china or a small splash i hear

  • thats good but how bout lefty?

  • You need to record some covers with this amazing sound quality

  • very good sound on your camra, im guessing its possibly a flip camra?

  • @gregrocks66 I used a little box recorder with a few microphones to record this.

  • @andy15m374l I see, hey, still sounds awsome

  • Those kicks sound like a sheet of paper being flicked repeadedly with someone's finger. No life or thud to them at all.

  • i recognize the beat from 0:16 to 0:27. its from slipknot's "psychosocial." i know cuz i play that beat all the time =]

  • @jeff7150 Interesting. I've never heard that song before.

  • @jeff7150 It doesn't sound anything like it... >.>

  • @jeff7150 no its not lmao

  • @jeff7150 how is that psycosocial? thats not part of the song

  • @jeff7150 fuck slipknot

  • @jeff7150 its just a common metl beat, and my names jeff too :P

  • @jeff7150 No it isn't. Psychosocial is much slower and not exactly that beat but I can see how it might sound like it

  • @jeff7150 not even close.

  • @jeff7150 You are so goddamn stupid :)

  • @jeff7150 your right it is :D

  • @fitzyboy93 thanks for being the only sane person here =]

  • @jeff7150 insane**

  • Snare & Heads.

    Detalis please.

  • dont tell me you actually sped this .. did you?? and your right hand looks totally fucked up wen yur playn

  • @MarcoIZLegitt What? This is an actual technique played by an actual person at actual speed.

  • @andy15m374l and that is?

  • @SL4Y3DT4CO It's called push pull, gravity blast or freehand technique.

  • @andy15m374l no I've seen this done i just didnt know there was an actual person that does this.

  • @andy15m374l push and pull is a different thing, look at Jojo Mayer... well done by the way!!

  • Its called a gravity blast retard

  • do you use triggers?

  • sounds...alot like whitechapel

  • what snare is that i cant read the logo. size?

  • i dont like the sounds you use for the triggers, sounds too... fake and :S

  • good lord.............. put a shirt on son

  • You should consider mounting a tom on the left base drum and a tom on the right base drum so everything is center and balanced. Plus it might improve your rolls.

  • @HydraSperati It would be the opposite. Right now everything is in a row. If I moved it the way you described there woul be a gap between my right rack tom and the floor tom.

  • @andy15m374l yup same as my kit. Its not a huge gap and it hasnt affected anything for me

  • @andy15m374l i DIdnt hear any crash only china?

  • @andy15m374l would you rather have two rack toms beside eachother infront of snare so you can transission a lot better between the two racks and snare though

  • That was sick.

  • Sounds like something Cyrax would play with Scorpion on guitar, Raiden on keyboard, Sektor on bass, and Mileena on the mic.

  • Wheres this video out?

  • @psychogroupie118 I still haven't made the video. I also lost the original files this segment was made from, so when I do make the main video there will be a new example segment in it. Making the push pull how to vid is near the top of my youtube to do list.

  • Damn pretty sick idk when anybody would wanna use a gravity blast except for lookin cool and showin of to drummers lol but im not into too black or death metal im sure u could use it in that lol

  • Nice patterns... Triggers sound awesome and you gravity blasts are beautiful :)

  • 0:18 idk if anyone else notices but it sounds exactly like veil of meya stuff. sounds awesome man keep it up

  • woooow, beautiful....I will learn it and record, and put on youtube%)))

  • nice Bass sound there mate :P

  • @ZinkMaggot2

    triggerd :)

  • Love that freaking sound!!!!!

  • Nice, this is stuff from your song right?

  • nope this was a bunch of patterns I came up with on the spot.

  • Ah i see, i just thought cuz i checked out your myspace and it sounded similar, it's pretty good still, and you're bass drum tuning video helped me a lot, just thought i would say thanks for that, i got the sound i wanted

  • Your bass drum sounds so damn awesome its been 2 months and im looking for that sound.. Did u get some of that from ur mixer? or does ur bass actually sound like that (ive seen ur bass drum tuning vid, sounds diff)

oh and what would u call this kind of sound?

  • The kick drum sound in this video is from my drum module that I use with my ekit triggers. That is why it's extremely clicky.

  • nice! I have problems with mastering it tough..

  • @dunaucca I'm working on a video about this technique that I hope will have all metal drummers doing this smoothly.

  • Love your trigger sound. Snare seems a bit quiet though. Awesome segment none the less.

  • kit sounds great man good work

  • I love you (:

  • do a roll instead of little blast of them

  • The purpose of this segment was to show applications other than plain 16ths. I think enough people use it for that.

  • Very nice. I mastered this technique myself as well. Pretty cool.

  • sweet dude

  • Woah..that snare sounds like a marching snare now...it almost sounded triggered lmao, but I know its not lol

    Thats fucking badass though

  • @Rockinnsk8inallday it is, do you not see that giant module at the bottom.

  • The snare is not triggered. The kicks indeed are.

  • lmao, of course i see the module, its HUGE*thats what she said lol* but the kicks are only triggered

  • Yeah it sounds different now, I have an sm57 pointed at the snare this time instead of just the overheads. This sounds more like my snare does in person than the other vids. My snare head was a bit looser than normal though.

  • oh ok nevermind

  • those were clean dude. respect for that. why do you refuse to actually hit a cymbal though?

  • lol Really? I just noticed that!

  • very nice :) im gonna have to learn these properly

  • I'm working on a how to. This the example part from that video. I'm not sure when it will be done.
