  • I just had mine today.... I hope I never have to go through with it again. I am a big baby and wanted my mommy and daddy...

  • If you look closely its a green Tank, and Green means that its MRI safe, so there are no worry's of it getting pulled my the magnet

  • I had MRI on April 1st. Dang scared the crap of me. But that oxygen tank should be removed cause whenever happen that scanner can pull that metal into MRI scanner. Magnet field is very STRONG!

  • The open helps many claustro patients have the MRI but the Open MRI is also the weakest magnetic field due to its open construction. If you're having dense parts of your body studied (brain, abdomen, breast) you should have them scanned in a stronger Tesla scanner. 1.5 Tesla or greater. Stronger Magnet=Faster Study & Better Image Quality & a much better outcome to make an accurate diagnosis.

  • Thanks Michael, I know how hard it is as I am claustrophobic too.

  • omg im only 13 and i had a MRI done it scared me at first but at the hospital i got to watch a movie why i was in the MRI through these little goggles anyways good job

  • i got 1 today and im 13 but i didnt get 2 watch a movie

  • try going in head first....at least when i had my wrist scanned most of my body was out of teh scanner...but wasnt comfy, my shoulder got numb after a while coz you cant move...didnt want to buzz

i can get claustophic, but i just focused on my breathing to get it over and done with. Plus i had the advantage, in some ways, of not being abl e to see well, coz i wear glasses so yeah.

  • i tried the open and closed one but our open one wasnt all that open like that one and well i am way to claustrophobic and totally freaked out =( i need help.............

  • thx for this! i was freaking out about this MRI even though my mom said it would be open i was still freaked, but when i saw this picture, it's gonna be a breeze! Wish me luck!

To Michael and all other claustrophobic men and women out there

  • Barsee23...

I wish you ALL THE LUCK in the WORLD! But you won't need it because you WILL breeze right through the Open MRI! TAKE CARE and let me know how it goes for you!

    Michael

  • I could get this exam done i had a panic attack It felt like I was buried alive It was this tunnel where I had to hear loud noises and I couldnt take it

  • I wish My son could go in the open one! This is his first time and he is 17. Tomorrow at 2p.m. I hope he doesn't get scared! I heard alot of people have clostraphobia too.

  • OMG!!! i wish i had this today..i had to go in a real mri machine today thats slid in to take pictures if my knee and I WAS SO SCARED!!!!! my leg wouldnt stop shaking and i wouldnt stop crying...my heada didnt even go inside! and they were gonna do my thigh which was scary do they didnt do i cuz i was to scared..I WILL BE SCARED 4 LIKE LOLZ!

  • Why is everyone in here so afraid of doing traditional MRI-scans? Sounds like you guys need some benzos to fix some of those mental issues you have.

  • "asdfjkli"...

In MY case, I was too big for the "traditional" MRI and NEEDED to MRI'd in the Open MRI!

Just one question for YOU...have YOU ever needed an MRI?

You know...SOME people MAY have fears of being enclosed in a Regular MRI!

  • gazoontite! asdfjkli sound's like a sneeze more than a username.

  • It's 'Gesundheit'.

  • Yes, I have. I'm aware that some people may have claustrophobia or general anxiety which is why there's Xanax. (:

  • @asdfjkli your comment is really insensitive bitch!

  • yes sir that mri was diffenetly a breeze and im feeling pretty good

  • im having mine in 30 minutes omg help

  • Matthew...

I HOPE that ALL went well with YOUR MRI!

I'm sure that you found out that the MRI was a BREEZE!

Let me know HERE how it went and how you are doing!

    Michael

  • i just got an MRI today..it wasnt that bad. the first test i messed up..haha..but then i got comftortable and tried to enjoy it/

  • Don't know if this helps anyone but I had a "Stand-Up MRI" in Colorado and it was the best thing ever as I too am a claustrophobic person. You actually sit down and are pushed back into the machine but everything in front of you is open and that makes all the difference. Good luck to all. God Bless.

  • thanks for the video. i was really nervous about getting mine done tomorrow because i really really don't like small closed in spaces but i found out that i'm getting and open mri so this video seemed to make me more at ease :] best of luck to you and everyone else.

  • you shouldnt be saying this 'MuchToCoolForSchool' because this video actually helped me alot okai??? i had a question on how an mri machine looks like and it has been solved thanks to this man!! now dont you dare be rude about this video and learn to respect other people actions. Thanks you Michael :) :D

  • oh also i am getting some kinda anesthesia but i am also scared of getting anesthesia.

  • As far as the anesthesia is concerned, there should be ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM!

    GOOD LUCK!

    Michael

  • ehh! i am getting one next week =\\. and its an open mri for my head. but idk if i have the old machines or the new ones. i'm 13. i'm wicked scared.

  • There is NOTHING to be scared of where the MRI is concerned!

I wish you ALL THE BEST with the results of YOUR MRI!

Let me know what you find out!

TAKE CARE and GOD BLESS YOU!

    Michael Porter

  • Hmm the one thing that caught my eye immediately...was the metal oxygen(?) bottle standing in the corner. I really hope someone's NOT gonna knock that over while scanning or preparing someone...the result could be devastating.

Nonetheless, all the best to you! :)

  • i have my test tomorrow...i'm scared

  • DO NOT BE SCARED! I was at first as well...BUT it was NO PROBLEM AT ALL!

YOU HAVE NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT...IT'S A SNAP!!! OK?

Let me know HOW it goes!

    Michael

  • Thanks Michael...It wasn't too hard after the first minutes... I made two MRI, One to the brain and another one to the marrow. 40minutes without moving...!!!!!Now i'm waiting for the results. i'm so afraid...the doctor suspicion of multiple sclerosis. tomorrow I only go to know. sorry for my english

    Michael

  • hey. I have my test in two days. I'm not really scared of small spaces, but I've never been in a tube. As long as I'm not in any pain or discomfort, I think I'll be alright. I am alittle nervous, but I hope it goes alright
