we have three horses. They raise their tails when they goona fart or poop. Also if the horse knows your their, it's not very dangerous being behind a horse unless you know it doesn't like you. If you know it doesn't, don't do it! My mare backs up to me for me to scratch her tail, she doesn't mind and it totally safe.
