This is how we open up our worship service, which comes after folks have sung these great songs praising our Lord!! We Love It and are sure it makes our God, Jesus, smile!! : ) You shouldn't judge how others praise and worship our God, we don't. Peace be with you.
I wasn't judging, just making an observation and thanking God for HIS Catholic Church.
However you want to worship God, more power to you. Jesus said if you're for Him then how can you be against Him... right? You're not against Jesus, so more power to you! :)
Well if singing 500 year old hymns is the way you want to do it, I think we can have our Israel Houghton songs. I'm not puzzled by this at all. It's called progression. You think that a Catholic mass resembles in any way the early church after Jesus' death?

Is this a "church / worship service" or just a concert? Not a bad song, I'm just puzzled if this is the way protestants WORSHIP God.
Thank you Jesus for your Catholic Church because the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is the way that we Catholics WORSHIP God!

The way that Catholics worship is with SACRIFICE. Without a Sacrifice there is no worship. Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.
