How to Secure a sliding door:

Lock the sliding door. Even a child would do that!

Lock the second door. Even a dog would do that!

Block the door with a shelf. ????? if IF! a thief burgles your house would he take the sliding door??

You bend down every time you lock your door. I think that isn´t good for your back. You corrup your spine and the protecting effect is 0,00!

@Gelberification < Expert and yourself forgot to mention :

Sliding door could be lifted from outside and dropped inward(makes noise but if no one home, it's ok for the thief).

Solution : Screw L-shape metal (one inch) on sliding doors top inside frame clearing approx. 1-2mm for slide.
