Everybody knows the Dutch were and still are the true master of the seven sea's, kicked England arse twice as well as the Spanish armada besides all the charting we did, we charted more of the world then any other nation. We discoverd entire Oceania, founded New York, invented the Yacht, etc, etc. We Dutch are sea-men like no others, half of our country is below the sea-level, it's in the genes man. Not the British and certainly not the Danish, LOL bunch of jokers.
@indivum Sounds like you have been smoking some of your countries most famous produce. I certainly didnt know the Dutch single handedly destroyed the Spanish Armada, i thought that was Her Majestys Royal Navy.
Maersk Line SUCKS man only buy up LINES to grow BIG at LEAST MSC has the integrity to grow from within and their capability. MAERSK bought over P&O Nedlloyd and could not sustain. retrench P&O Nedlloyd staffs and now early this year 2008 April another RETRENCHMENT "STREAMLINE" (MSK sure has a theme or catch phrase for excercise they do) where more P&O staffs leave. THE FUTURE, Western Ops Center will close down soon and more staffs axed and move to Eastern Ops Center (now on 24hr shift work). HA

Is that the ship making all that noise? Is it loud?
1DanielChristensen 1 year ago
@1DanielChristensen, I don't think so, expect if the guy shooting this has an exceptionally good directional microphone. Ships aren't that loud.

How old are you? If you're a reasonable age, with reasonable education and attitude, then fairly easy to get in at cadet or AB level.

maersk take 50 cadets a year 18 and up

By the looks of it, yes. Most ships of her type are single-screw. I could be wrong.

how many miles in an hour can one of those cover
truckertwotimes 4 years ago
she can do around 27 knots per hour.
1 international knot = 1 nautical mile per hour = 1.852 kilometres per hour exactly = 1.1507794 miles per hour. so that's about 31 miles :)
titigti 4 years ago
Cool, thanks for the info, this is a very interesting business, do or have you considered doing a podcast about your adventures?
truckertwotimes 4 years ago
@titigti Ehm.....you can't say "knots per hour" because 1 knot = 1 nm per hour, so her max speed is 27 knots = 27 nautical miles per hour!
eulero75 1 year ago
@eulero75, you could say that the acceleration is 27 knots per hour :>

World's Largest Cargo Ship Get a load of this ship!
15,000 containers and a 207' (feet) beam!
Crew size (13) for a ship longer than US aircraft carriers,
Which have complements of 5,000 men and officers? Think it's big enough?
Notice that 207' beam means it was NOT designed for the Panama or Suez Canal.
