well, I've been confronted with this before (or similar) dunk your head in this fancy bird bath or you won't go to heaven. Hate people who don't believe the same thing you do because they are wrong and going to hell.

For me, if something doesn't make sense, I don't do it. This is the problem with dogma, a lot of the rules don't make much sense, and it isn't 'God' who's making the rules, telling people to stab yourself with a toothpick, it's just some guy

What you're saying is that you can pick and choose what of all these things written in the bible, the ones you want to believe in. That quite undermines the necesity of a god. Since you just choose what ever fits you.

i used to wish that there was something more, but the more i read,see and question the more i feel that its ok anyway...the fact that there is goodness in the world and people do good things whether religious or not is a very beautiful thing. because of this there is always hope. also we dont really know what life itself is so who knows if we live beyond death?

My rationality has brought me to the conclusion that while made made religions (Judaism, Christianity, Islam Hinduism, Mormonism, etc.) are exactly as the are; man made. However, I still hold the belief that there still is some spiritual essence, a soul if you will (or a spirit glob). As I said in my video, my beliefs are constantly being challenged and changed by myself.

So today I may be a deist, tomorrow, I may come across some information that will convince me that atheism is where it's at... and maybe a month down the road I'll have some crazy spirit quest that will show me that everyone is wrong and I'm the only one who's right.

Until then, I'd like to leave the future as being a big surprise and keep all doors open

I don't find my beliefs to be unwarranted or irrational, but rather based on personal instead of empirical evidence. I have many reasons for believing what I believe in.

Your views have indeed changed since your early videos. Mine have changed quite a lot too. Reading the bible changed much of that for me - in addition to the many informative videos I watched on here. I'm certainly not an arrogant hardline skeptic about everything . I too entertain a notion of maybe some kind of universal connectedness between everything. Makes for interesting conversations - but such discussions belong firmly in the realm of philosophy as theres no impirical way of testing.
