Don't worry, folks. We're winning. Our meetup group has started precinct walking. Between feet on the street and millions of dollars for big time advertising, the word will get out.
Oh, and BTW, that grinning fool around 1:58 or so is me! :D
How much does a national poll cost: Have you heard of Ron Paul? Who do you intend to vote for in primaries? Who do you intend to vote for in presidential?
How much does it cost for a national advertising campaign if it is done privately (ie. not through the campaign)?
Supporters need to stop sitting there doe-eyed and dumbfounded and "not having an answer for" these poll figures.
They need to remind these reporters and interviewers AT ONCE that these polls represent only those 6.6% of registered Republicans who voted for Bush in 2004.
Not rocket science folks; stating this simple fact exposes the media's constant misrepresentation of the candidates' successes and failures right away.
2-3%? More Like 20%. The media's statistics DON'T make sense, you can't have someone who has the most supporters, the most money donated, and not have him #1.
InTheSticks is correct. Polls are taken of "likely" voters and are "sample" grouped. Those who have been around politics for a long time, don't really pay that much attention to polling numbers because they don't reach first time voters or do good cross sectioning of all parties. Ron Paul has attracted people of all those parties and many who only have cell phones.
The polls mean little. They sample the few percent who voted for Bush in the primaries last time, and that election had the lowest turn out. RP supporters are also Democrats and Libertarians, of certain age groups who use cell phones who are not sampled, and at least one poll has been found to be not even 'testing' his name. New Hampshire will us what is really going on.
