  • Do you provide a bespoke service, i.e. could I buy this ready made board??

  • HI @sifender56 , we are just starting our bespoke service, so yes, contct me through the website and we'll chat . cheers ;)

  • I actually just sent a detailed e-mail to benny at the gigrig, explaining my process of wiring my board, and how the 2nd distributer only powered up once, but has been dead since then. Regarding the guitar, I don't know whether or not my PRS Custom 24 has an exceedingly high output or not. However, once this pedalboard is finally working, I look forward to seeing if the pre-boost buffer fixes the problem of the BB. Otherwise, I'm going to have to ship it to Xotic for modification.

  • @georgeorlando705 if you could resend the email to me daniel@thegigrig(dot)com and i'll check it out, also send a pic. There could be a really simple solution of a passive volume control in the loop before the bb. talk soon ;)

  • Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Still having difficulty powering my pedalboard and Gig Rig; one of the distributers was only on once, for a minute, but has been powerless since. So I'm not up and running yet. I was planning on going from my PRS custom 24 into a volume and wah pedal, then to the input of the Gig Rig. The BB Preamp pedal was to be in the third loop, after my compressor and Boss Blues Driver.

  • @georgeorlando705 Hi mate, no problem. The BB should be absolutley fine after that lot. ARe you using a guitar with really high output? When you say the Distributor was on,y on for one minute, are you having probles with it? If so just email me and we'll get it hard. Hard to go into intricate detail on the rig here. Talk soon ;)

  • Hey, Daniel. I have an old Xotic BBPreamp pedal which allows an unpleasant amount of bypass tone to be heard along with the processed gain. Xotic says this is because the signal going into the pedal may be more than -10 dB. So, after seeing this video, is it correct to say that lowering the pre-boost buffer on that specific loop will theoretically cut my signal to the BBPreamp so that it is less than -10 dB?

  • Hi @georgeorlando705 are you using a pre amp into the BB? The Pre-boost buffer is always the first in the chain when it is on. As long as the BB is first in the chain then yes, but what guitar are juicing the BB with that is giving it so much gain?

  • can I use this to switch between my clean and dirty channels on my Peavey 6505 plus instead of the 7 pin footswitch it came with?

  • hi @JaguarHolocaust . does the peavey have the option the use a standard 1/4" jack for switching?

  • if i want to add a wah or volume peddle to the set up

would it be better if the guitar went straight into the wah/volume and THEN into the pro14

or guitar, pro14, wah/volume and then amp?

    hope this didnt confuse anyone...

  • @Giggity230 hey giggity! i plug straight into my way pedal, and then that goes straight in the front of my pro-14, it works great. Experiment with where you put the volume pedal, either in the front or in a loop, either are fine, but the volume pedal placement has an impact on dynamics especially with the gain of od pedals, but there is no right or wrong

  • Man, this is a tutorial ¡¡¡

  • @whodwellswithin thanks mate ;)

  • I'm thinking of buying one...how much would a pro 14 cost with lava cable, a power generator, and tape cost? also where can i get the black background white writing label printer? I'm in Australia so all Auzzie prices.

  • @InfinityPRS Thanks Infinity, you can get them direct from the website, TheGigRig(dot)com - buy from the UK site, it will work out shipping etc for you. Exchange rate depends on the rate at the time, but the Aus dollar is very strong at the moment so you should be fine. Cheers :)

  • I have seen your GigRig controller, I think its the best because it also has a volume knob for each channel and also great possibilities for combination, I wish to have one!... :) ... best wishes to you from Transylvania !....

    Claudiu - Aeternum

  • @klauswhitedreamer excellent! I'll keep one warm for you ;) all the best

  • What about TAP TEMPO on effects?

  • @CHAIRIN1 hi , all you need to do is make sure you have access to the tap tempo footswitch. Any effects i need to get to the footswitches on I have on the top level of the bridge. Anything that is set and forget is underneath. cheers;)

  • Does it work with 9V DC or AC ?

  • @Cyberbob182 and it works t=with 9V dc from the Generator which is included for free

  • Daniel, I just found out about this switching system today. Never heard of it in my life and I've been playing guitar for 6 or 7 years quite solidly. This immediately caught my eye, its just looks like something that I would really love to have in my pedal board for the simplicity and convenience that it offers. What a fantastic product! I can definitely see myself using this in the near future :)

  • @BluesMystic thanks mate, look forward to having you onboard. Cheers!

  • Man, If your were the one who came up with this whole piece of art! You are a genius!

  • @orpheus06 dont know what to say, thanks, but i'm no genius, just an obsesive insomniac that makes best use of my time. thanks mate ;)

  • @TheGigRigDaniel No man, he is right, you're a genius ! It is so well thought that i made all my pedalboard project based on it. I will buy it, it cannot be avoided, I just don't know when exactly :) But I have a little question : when you use a sound with two pedals, the distortion on loop 10 and the delay on loop 1, the delays are coming first in the sound composition isn't it ? So I have to consider the order of pedals sounds with the order of loops to get the dist before the delays right ?

  • @Cyberbob182 Hey cyberbob, well, i'm blushing, thanks so much. Yes, the loops are in series so the order is very important. Thanks mate

  • Looks very nice and easy to use, but whats happing with those small dipswitches if there appears some flying beer on stage?

  • @fenderyank Hey Fender Yank. If the DIP switches get soaked in beer as mine have on ocasion, a bit of contact cleaner soon sorts them out. They are all socketed so can easily be replaced. My unit has always stood up to the flying beer but a simple solution if it is a concern is a strip tape electrical tape over the DIP switches.

  • Fascinating. I understood it all right away ... you guys have really got something here! I wish you great success... and you'll get some of my money this year too.

  • @Corporations8MyBaby thanks so much. this comment made my day. ;)

  • Hi,

I just wondered if you could recommend a good label maker with the black background as you mentioned in your video?

    Many Thanks

    Paul

  • Hello,

What pedalboard are you using in this video?

  • I have some questions :

    1) Is the GigRig Pro 14 a midi controller ? Or analogic one ?

    2) what about another pedal ?

For example : I have a delay and a distorsion on loop 1 and a tremolo on loop 2 because I have no other option. Can I switch on the tremolo using loop 2 and switch the delay without using loop 1 switch because I don't want the distorsion too ?

  • ok, so somebody might have expressed this concern before but as you changed some of the sounds in mode 2, I could hear a gap of sound as you were activating and deactivating the pedals, and I am not referring to the tails of the delays and such, I am referring to a complete interruption of sound. Is this what I am hearing is true or is it completely letting the drives shine all the time??

  • @pmgsound Hi there. Sorry if the above answers weren't clear. I had my Pro-14 designed with a few presets engaging the 'pop' gate. I have since turned this off but this is the gap you're hearing. I was only showing the programabilty in this demo, and i forgot about the pop gate proming that I had done.. sorry, my bad. The sounds are uninterupted when changing. Check out the John wesley Porcupine tree demo, or any of the demos on the website or the amp shootout to hear (or not hear) the switching

  • were can you get that preset board?

  • its excellent

  • i'm sorry dan i didn't asked my question right. ex; preset 1 is clean.i add delay and chorus via mode 2. so now i have clean preset with delay and chorus. if i press the preset 1 button again, will it clear the delay and chorus i added, and go back to clean?

  • @bossgtdiez10 exactly!

  • @TheGigRigDaniel AWSOME!!! Thanks for you patience. looking foward to getting me one!!! tired of messing around with multieffects system that require a lot of tweeking just to come close to what you want.DO you have a list of amps that the riggig switches or can it switch any amp?

  • That's right. If you add on a preset in mode 2 it adds to the preset in mode 1. Hit it again and it turns off. You can stack as many as you like. Also if you hit a mode 1 preset it will turn off mode 2 presets as in the demo

  • @TheGigRigDaniel how about the midi 8.can it also do this ?

  • @bossgtdiez10 , yes, it operates in exactly the same way

  • i see that you can use to modes for effect recall one is all preset and the other preset/on the fly. (useing the top swithches as you demod it.so i know i can call a preset and add effects on the fly. but if i press the preset button again will it atomatically shut off the on the fly effects that i added and go back to the original preset?

  • meaning that there are 2 modes for switching? pop gate on for quick mute and off for instant with no quick mute? and do you have any authorizes dealers in america. THANKS.

  • There is a programmable 'pop gate' in the pro-14 and MIDI-8 . Generally I leave it off but when on it flashes the output relays giving you a mute signal for a split second. It helps with pedals that can be noisy to switch. It works better on some pedals than others but normally I just leave pop gate off so the switching is instant.

  • nice machine! noticed that when you added the delay and then the trem there was a mute in the singnal for a split second wile you pressed the switch. is that normal in the switcher.

  • It be killer if u guys would make the tape glow in the dark that be awesome:)

  • this was fantastic, thanks

  • Will there be a video over your midi controller?

  • BTW, has GP published the review? I'll be watching for it!

  • I've had a Pro-14 since February 2010, and this series of vids has been invaluable! Thank you so much for these, they've helped both tidy up my pedal-board and freed me up to play guitar without thinking about all the switches I need to step on!

I've actually become a "better player" in the eyes of my band-mates!

  • What a freaking beast. I didn't wanna have to save up for one, but I've been convinced.

  • That is absolute genius!

  • Thanks...

  • Thanks mate ;)

  • great Daniel!

  • 1st one to view! YESSSS lol
