her voice doesn't sound like a cigarette smokers voice like it does now. I think a lot of singers sound better when their younger. Stevie, Lindsey, Robert Plant, Freddy Mercury, Elton John, Geddy Lee, etc., to name just a few. Their singing is higher notes when their younger. Elton John sounds rough these days and has for a long time. Listen to how crisp his voice was back in the 70's on songs like "Goodbye yellow brick road" or Tiny Dancer".
