Tell you what's interesting (and I never missed an ep on Sunday nights)--I notice (now) that in the format switch in the second half of the doomed season, the billing of the leads was switched (Frank Aletter got top billing in the first half).
When I was in elementary school, we changed he words to it's about time, it's about space, it's about time to slap you face!! We thought it was funny.
funny, I too was 5 years old when this show came on and have been haunted by its theme song ever since...I'd never heard or seen anything more about it until surfing you tube today...
This has been bugging me too , I am always singing the first 2 lines and couldn't remember the rest or evenwhat the show was about till today . I was 10 .
This is the second version of the series' theme, reflecting the slight change in storyline and covering the last eight episodes from January 22 through April 2, 1967....
I just typed in "it's about time" tonight 02/19/09 on ebay and found a 7 dvd set of 27 episodes for less than 40 bucks. I've been looking since I bought my first computer in 97. One of my favorite shows at 8 years old. Keep searching. There out there
alright...i really pisses me off that this show was cancelled...it was at a time slot befor my dad got home from work...also..damn that dumb bonanza...i couldnt watch star trek///does anyone know how to get the episodes of this show?
if you don't already know, check out user LostAirwavesII - there's at least a half-dozen episodes posted..if there's ever a petition to get this show on DVD, i'll be the first to sign it..have only seen two eps of this series in 42 years!!! (before these posts, that is..)
I loved this show when I was a kid but this is the first time I have found anything about it. Here is a bit of trivia about the show: First Telecast: September 11, 1966 Last Telecast: August 27, 1967 Number Of Episodes: 26 Number Of Seasons: 1 Type Of Show: Situation Comedy CBS Sunday Primetime Schedule 1966-1967 7:00-7:30 Lassie 7:30-8:00 It's About Time 8:00-9:00 The Ed Sullivan Show 9:00-10:00 The Garry Moore Show 10:00-10:30 Candid Camera 10:30-11:00 What's My Line
given this show's positioning, i'm surprised it didn't do better, or at least given another season to grow some teeth. Lassie and the Ed Sullivan show kept up another four years..
At what point was the name of Imogene Coca's character changed from "Shag" to "Shad"? Someone must have clued them in about what "shag" means in British slang!

It was changed after a few episodes when they realized the problem with the word.

Yea, does anyone have the 1965 version of the theme song?

This is when they go back to the future later in the season. Do you have the original opening at the beginning of the series?
