@rejectedbythedevil14 -It is not just the baking soda it is the chemical composition of it, mixed WITH something, The baking soda is also a very fine powder, so it does help buff.

It alone cannot whiten your teeth thogh. SOme mix it with Lemon juice, some mix it with peroxide, and that COMBINATION is what works together to create a stain lifting paste. Neither are good for your enamel though. Hope that helps.
