  • Multi-Vitamin, Dulse & Kale.

  • don't get a jack lalanne. you can get a breville for 150 at bed bath and beyond that is twice is good. also, bb and b has 20% off coupons online, so print one out and take in. saved me 30 bucks, so i got a breville je95xl for 120. it was way worth the 30 extra bucks. sold my lalanne on craigslist after having it one week.

  • I have a Green Star, but I rarely use it, as it takes sooooo long to clean it. However, I am taking it out today and dusting it off, as I have been wanting to get a healthier diet going again.

  • Breville Elite! IT IS AMAZING! I LOVE IT! :-) Never been this excited about a toy before. It is tool that gives me the gift of life!

While being easy to clean, low-chunk, large feed spout and good-looking! :-)

  • I was all ready to order a new juicer because we didn't know what happened to ours. This, of course, got my husband to actually search for it. So, lo and behold, 2 weeks ago we dug out our ancient Juiceman Jr after long storage. It was a wedding gift from 10 years ago. Yes, that's a whole, entire decade. Remember the dinosaurs?! I think I just saw one out of the corner of my eye. Now, I'll probably have to wait till this one goes kaput...and for that it will just last forever and ever...lol!

  • I had been using my Vitamix and nut bag (actually I was using a paint bag from H.Depot)-it has worked wonderfully, but since I have started juicing more often, I decided to buy a Hurom. I was unhappy with it at first, but found that if I re introduce the pulp into it as I juice I get very dry pulp (as I got w/bag) -but it tastes better w/the juicer.

I use the pulp to make awesome raw crackers...yumm!

  • I have a Jack Lalane and I really don't like it. The pulp is still really wet after juicing and it clogs up after juicing 3 or 4 pieces of fruit/veggie. Like Kevin said, it's also not easy to clean. Save up for a good juicer.

  • I use a really handy 2-speed hand-blender which gives me total control over the blending process. No I don't use a juicer at all.

  • Hurom.

  • Lol that chicken question :D how about a organic raw vegan chicken kevin?

  • I use a Breville Elite bought from Dan Man's aka liferegenerator - webstore. I love it, sure beats Jack!

  • Off topic but Kevin, your hair - head and facial - and skin are completely radiant and glowing. You look SO healthy. Your healthy eating and loving self care/respect is showing! it's glowing! it's the raw food knowing!!! I love your energy, always. I have never seen you have bad energy - even in that one video where you thought you came across depressed. You are seriously one of the move lovable and upbeat souls.

  • i juice with a high speed blender then strain through a fine net nylon curtain!

  • If you juice 3-6 heads of lettuce greens daily.....that adds up quickly @ 3 bucks per head. Now do that daily, yikes. The green powders last longer and are cheaper, but the health benefits of green powders verses juicing is ridiculous. You deserve fresh green juice.

  • I wanted a big fancy high dollar juicer really bad, but had to settle for a Breville Juice Fountain that I bought second hand. I love it! It is soooooo easy to set up and clean! The pulp is a little wet, but I still like using it better than my friend's Champion. The juice is superior, but the set up an clean up makes me not want to use her's!

  • I just had a juicer-a cheap one -so I have to juice the meat twice. But I still appreciate i cuz I have a hard time digesting hard veggies.

  • Awesome vid Kevin, thanks for all the great info. You Rock :)

  • Cheap refurbished like new juicers, breville-hwi, ebay.Your welcome.

  • I don't use a juicer, haven't had the need yet. I blend my fruits and greens with a blender.

  • Hi Kevin, to open Macadamias it's sufficient to put em in the freezer for 10 minutes or more and they crack almost easily as an almond.

    Bye

  • The HUROM slow juicer has no rivals. The yield is as high or higher than the norwalk, I've tried both and I will never go back.

  • The hurom juicer is by no means the best juicer on the market. We gave it our family and used it for the 3 weeks while we were visiting. It is not built to last and I can already see the wipers and the small plug being ruined in a year

We have the new Green star and it just yields a lot more juice and just as easy to clean as the Hurom. Green star is definitely worth the extra 150.

  • you guys should use a high quality blender like Vitamix instead of juicers. "juicers" retain the liquids only, but lose all the fiber.

  • We have a vitamix along with our juicer. You should read more about what a vitamix does to green "juices" before trusting them over a good juicer. Brian Clement is a good source to information about what happens when you use the vitamix to make a smoothie.

Fiber is important and that is why I never juice fruits and I eat a big salad everday

  • i don't understand what could be "unhealthy" about using a vitamix for your veggies over a juicer. i tossed my juicer away 10 years ago.

  • I never mentioned unhealthy, i just said to look into the information.

I will say that it is better to blend a fruit than to juice a fruit. From what I have learned, fruits should never be juiced and drunk straight as is.

  • i believe blending both fruits and veggies are healthier than juicing them.

  • I am curious as to why. Thanks!

  • If you're talking about "greens" as in barley or wheat grass, you can still use the vitamix and just strain the juice.

  • You really should do more research so you are consciously aware about all the pros and cons of what you are talking about and what you are suggesting to people

  • I don't suggest to people, i make recommendations for my patients.

  • even worse. If you are going to label yourself a professional, you better damn well be keeping up to date on all of the important information that is out there.

Stop being a lazy ass and read all perspectives out there. It is your duty!

  • Why don't you believe juicing fruit is healthy?

  • Juicing fruits is like pumping sugar straight into your system really fast. I mean fruits like lemon, passion fruit, limes, cranberries are fine to juice but anything too sweet is not a healthy approach from listening to a lot of different nutritional experts. If you do juice fruits they say it is best to add veggies juice or water to dilute it down.

I personally think fruits should be eaten as or with kefirs :o)

  • To juice passionfruit do you just scoop the inside out and throw that in the juicer?

  • Ya, just make sure you will be able to clean the pulpy mess it does to the mesh strainer inside the juicer. When were juicing passion fruit with the hurom, little tiny pieces of the seed were getting stuck in the mess filter. They are impossible to remove unless you spent a lot of time using a needle to poke each of them out. yikes!

  • Wow this is really informative. I have seen them at my local farmer's market and wanted to use them as an insomnia aid since they have potent propertities but not if it's going to mess/mesh up my new juicer...Thank you for the warning!!! I do have a wheatgrass juicer that does soft fruits but I am wondering if the seeds would just go through and into the juice...

  • When we were in Colombia, I ate 2 or 3 passion fruits every morning. They really waken you up and put a fire in your belly.

I wonder why they would be good for insomnia. I do not recommend juicing them because I think eating the seeds are just as important as the actual juice. I would do anything to have them every morning again but they are just too expense in the states $3 each. In Colombia, you can get them for about 25 cents each.

  • If you google passionfruit and insomnia you will find info like this "The flower of passion fruit has a mild sedative and can help to induce sleep. Passion flower has been used in the treatment of nervous and easily excited children, bronchial asthma, insomnia, nervous gastrointestinal disorders and menopausal problems. Passion flower is sometimes used as a mild hallucinogen"

  • Ah, the flower and not the fruit. I was going to say because the fruit actually seems to really wake me up.

It kinda has the fire in the belly like juiced ginger

  • Ouch, not going to be good for my GI tract. Thank you again for all your knowledge. The flower! my boo boo, sorry about that... amazing how the fruit has different properties per part. How lovely. Enjoy your day!

  • That is a great deal in Colombia. I am in CA and very blessed to have a wide selection of locally grown organic quality produce at the farmer's market. I prioritize my $ on my food above everything else which is how I can buy more of the expensive tropicals and sub tropicals. I can't eat solids, only puree or juice so I can't have the seeds. Fire in the belly would not be good for me! Thanks again for another warning, I may just have to hold off on these passion fruits : O You are great help!

  • Thanks that makes sense, I have always just thrown in a couple of apples with my greens, that's probably not to bad.

  • What does it do?

  • Gabriel Cousens, Brian Clement, Dr. Mercola, and others say that juicing fruits (removing all fiber) are optimal because of the high level of sugars going into your body so quickly. It is said that it causes a highly acid reaction

  • are "not" optimal. Oops, and goof in my comment

  • We don't want the fiber. Give the old digestive organs a break why don't ya. : >

  • "we don't want the fiber and give the old digestive organs a break" is what you said? that's makes no sense at all. if is fiber that gives your digestive system a "break". you need to brush up on physiology and nutrition 101.

Once you blend your veggies and fruits with a vitamix, you will never juice again!!!

  • That is what I said.If you take in fiber the body does have to digest it.If you take in juice the body just absorbs it,no work for the body,so then the body can focus on healing somewhere else instead of processing fiber and food.I bought a Vita Mix a year ago,I adore it.I consumed green smoothys every day until I finally got my juicer about 4 months ago.I am seeing 100 percent increased health from the juicer compared to the green smoothys in the Vita Mix.Green juicing transformed my health!

  • what ever works for you is fine, but what you say about fiber and the body is totally incorrect. fiber helps your digestive system not make it work harder or decrease absorption. bottom line is both juicing and blending is healthy and you should choose what works for optimizing your health.

  • your body does not digest fiber. fiber helps you "digest" foods by moving it along much more efficiently than fiber free foods. look at kevin's newest video on blending vs juicing. personally, i started juicing over 20 years ago and switched to blending with a vitamix 10 years ago and never looked back!

  • Its a great juicer imo :D

  • 8 n )

  • Awesome. Everything you addressed is exactly the way I was thinking of the situation. I'm so happy you answered in video, I was shocked! Thank you for suggesting a juicer that will do the job. I didn't think the green powders had the nutrients we are all looking for, I was just really stumped on which route to take. That is why I came to you guys. My thoughts are the same as yours. Thanks again. I really appreciate it. You two are awesome! :) Sorry for the sn, my names Kasey. lol

  • I juice with my KitchenAid blender. That's what I have. That's what I use.

  • lol.. well.. you could tell us about to cut open a chicken to feed my cats... but somehow I don't think it will happen. o_o

  • We've had our Champion juicer for over 25 years. But - I also like to blend and then strain through a mesh bag using my BlendTec. It's faster then the Champion..

    Debbie *Ü*

  • I love your show, however the music sounds like a 70's porn intro!

  • You've watched 70's porn? LOL! :-)

  • @kevingianni you look like a 70s porn star

  • haha!

  • I don't like the music either, I always mute the music. Reminds me of uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite.

  • @deliciousdemon1 hahahhahahahha!!!!!!

  • Love the show, btw. in answer to the question, i've had a juicer for a yr or so and my energy was thru the roof when first got it. However, it has collected dust since. Problem? Its a pain in the butt to clean!! I Wish someone would make one that is easier to clean!. Right now I use my blender as its the easiest to use & less obtrusive in the kitchen. I actually use a regular dept store blender to make some really great all natural smoothies.

  • a dehydrated powder can NEVER compare to the live enzymes that you get from juicing. if anyone tells you different, they are wrong. the whole reason for juicing is to get the live enzymes out of the fiber, and them immediately drink it and it is instantly absorbed into the body.

  • An Angel Juicer

  • I don't juice because It too expensive to get a good one, and I live in an apartment so the noise of a juicer or blendtec would get me kickout faster then you could say green smoothie! I do love Kevin's intro and the music is great too. (bag pipes) lol that's funny stuff. Where do you get this stuff?

  • The Breville juice fountain is great. Under 150, great power and easy to clean.

  • Love, love, love my Vita Mix.

  • You seem like very nice people, and as of now, I'm a subscriber; however, I find your opening music so aurally assaultive, that often I am reluctant to watch your offerings.

II know I could keep the volume off when you first come on, but usually, I never think of this, until it's too late.

Honestly guys, it's like a sledgehammer...Or a lawnmower. And I love bag pipes.

  • I feel the same way! That music drives me nutty! But I do like the show...sorry Kevin

  • I'm still waiting for you to jump through a pane of glass at the onset of your video, Kevin.

  • hmmm....

  • It doesn't have to be real glass. It can be that fake stuff that stuntmen use. All you have to do is jump through it and yell GOOD AFTERNOON, and I guarantee it will get you millions of views.

  • Jack Lackmans, (older model) Power Juicer....works great! my parents just bought the newer model, that is also good.

  • @thesetwofeet Well, organic greens can be rather expensive, especially if you have a cheap juicer that doesn't extract as much juice from it.

The best option would obviously be to grow your own or pick wild ones if possible. Then you could easily spend that money on a good juicer instead, :)

  • I use a Blendtec because at my age, I seem to really need the fiber. I think if I was ill I would definitely juice for a while to easier absorb the nutrients.

  • I dont juice I just blend it all up and drink the smoothie cause i like the fiber and whole food. I sprout almods and 2 tbs of flax seeds blend them up in 2 cups water keep the pulp from the milk and add kale spinach wheat grass and other greens with 1 bannana 2 apples 1 pear and 1 cup of frozen berrys this compleatly fills my 64 oz jug and makes a few easy meals for each day.

  • I have a Waring juicer that I bought from Target. Its pretty efficient and its only $60. Slightly difficult to clean but it comes apart easily. I like it for 32oz cups of juice but its a hassle for more cause you have to clean the pulp catcher after about 32oz.

  • i use a General Electric juicer that i got for about 48 dollars. its decent but obviously not the best juicer. the pulp is a little wet but not too bad. i only juice once a day so its not that big of a deal for me.

  • I use a Kenmore and Omega juicer.

The Jack LaLane if you use it like I did it will not last. Hard to do carrots with it.

For a cheap juicer I would recommend a Juicedaddy , Breville or Omega.

Just look for Jay Kordich or John Kohler from Discount juicers both on Facebook.

You can find either one here at Youtube

  • I believe mine is a juiceman jr. Not the one I went to buy, but it was the cheapest there. It leaves a lot of liquid in the pulp, so I strain the pulp w/ a nut milk bag. I've also used a regular $30 blender or a food processor and a nut milk bag. Just add water when you do it that way.

  • We have Champion Juicer and it's still going strong after 10 years.

  • would it be better to use a lower quality juicer or vita-mix & but milk bag?

  • I have the Jack Lalane juicer and find it works very well and it is not that hard to clean - also have a Vitamix which is fantastic and my daughter got me a Ninja food processor that I love - works great and is very easy to clean...love your show....

  • Im using the super angel juicer. Best juicer ever owned/used, well beside the norwalk juicer.

  • That 30 day program sou nds GREAT.

  • I am on a juice feast right now. I use the Breville Juice Fountain Elite, which is awesome HOWEVER sometimes I end up running the pulp through a second time to extract all of the juice. Kevin mentioned the following technique, but thought I would share that I have found that some things like berries do better in the blender with water or other juice - blend then strain through paint strainer bag or nut milk bag. The breville I have is awesome for speed and large quantities of hard veg and fruit.

  • I use a L'equip wide mouth 215xl. It actually does a pretty good job and is very cheap a bit over 100 dollars. It will do until I can afford a Omega Vert or a Huron. Its not bad to clean which causes me to use it more than if it was a pain to clean.

  • I use the Breville Juice Fountain Plus! Easy to clean and works very well!
