The actual power of a punch is determined by how much force it applies to the target AFTER impact, so it's all about pushing through the inertia of a human being and either doing internal damage or bouncing the brain by moving your opponent's skull.

This machine doesn't apply enough resistance to measure power, but it's still impressive that he can throw a punch with as much acceleration as a professional fighter.

I dont know if anyone knows (I would hope some do) but there is no sensor in that machine to measure power' only decibel levels--ie sound not the actual force of impact. Anyone with a trained eye could tell its bogus just by looking at the body mechanics and force thrown out by GSP and especially rampage compared with criss angels decent but awkward looking "arm" punch.

You can actually break those machines pretty easily if you stand as close as possible and wail UP and through the bag.
