  • @rcrocker02 I got a complete HID kit off of carid.com I already got the ballasts amd all the good stuff just want brighter lights

  • @rcrocker02 Ok ya mine are both aimed properly so you would prefer 8000k over anything? And also all I need to get is replacement bulbs in the same size as the current bulb I have correct?

  • @251engine 8000k or 6000k are both great.. so either one, if you want slightly brighter and more white then go with 6000k, you dont want to buy simple bulbs because those are just imitation HID's, you need to get a ballast for each headlight and also real HID bulbs which will be very skinny and long instead of short and fat like normal bulbs, you can look up pictures of them on google to see what i mean. most places offer ballast and bulbs as a kit, but make sure ...because some dont

  • @251engine also, i would recommend a plug-n-play kit without a relay, its just easier to hook up which i did a installation video for those as well, this would allow you to see how i did the ballast and everything.

  • @rcrocker02 Nice lights I just put 15000k in my grand am can you do me a favor and check them out on my channel? They aernt as bright as I thought. I was thinking about getting replacement bulbs either in 8k or 10k look at my video and tell me if you think they will be brighter then the ones I have now thanks!

  • @251engine 15000k is much dimmer than the ones i use in my grand prix, the color is just too strong at 15000k. even 10000k loses some of the brightness, 6000k and 8000k are fairly close to each other in brightness with the 6000k being brighter, but 8000k has a slightly bluer color to it, stil mostly white, as where the 6000k is pure white. get either of those 2 and you will notice a dramatic difference. you will also want to make sure your headlights are aimed properly

  • @251engine 15000k is dimmer because its got a much bolder color. 10000k is still fairly blue as where 8000k is ALMOST pure white with just a hint of blue to it, and 6000k is pure white. there isnt too much difference between 6000k and 8000k but 6000k is SLIGHTLY brighter. both are dramatically brighter than 15000k, make sure your headlights are aimed properly too

  • nice lights i just put 15000k in my grand am can you do me a favor and check them out? they aernt as bright as i thought. i was thinking about getting replacement bulbs either in 8k or 10k look at my video and let me think if they will be brighter then the ones i have now thanks!

  • Did you just toss HID's in a halogen housing or did you actually retrofit projectors in there?

  • @pointerisnull just put it in the stock housing with factory heat shields, the problem with the projectors is you have one of 2 options with a grand prix.. spend a LOT of money... a few hundred per housing for actual good ones.. that work properly and dont just look bright but actually put the light on the road correctly... OR.. you get cheap ones, that dont really do what theyre supposed to because your stock headlights with a proper light pattern actually allow you to see better...

  • @rcrocker02 And you couldn't retrofit morimoto minis because...?

  • @pointerisnull because 1.. ive never heard of them.. 2.. dont know enough about them... 3... would have to see how well they work in person before i spend like $300 on them and 4.. because i dont know anyone around here who has them so i can see how they work, 90% of those kits claim they work fantastic, and then when theyre installed they end up looking great.. but put very little useable light on the road. im not saying thats the case with this brand, but id have to see them in person first

  • @rcrocker02 Go to theretrofitsource and check it out. Others have retrofitted them onto Grand Prix. Halogen housings simply aren't made for HID lights. They scatter light everywhere. And frankly, they just look cheap. Research the miromotos, they're good. The people at retrofitsource will tell you what you need, you won't need everything since you already have some of it. Your light output will be better with a nice cutoff, you won't blind people, and it looks badass.

  • @pointerisnull k will do... thanks for pointing them out ill look into it for sure.

  • @pointerisnull now.... having said that... if you have positive personal experience with that brand of retrofit projectors, please fill myself and my viewers in, and ill start keeping an eye out for them and asking around about them to consider them. and if i get some ill do a video on them as well.

  • @rcrocker02 Yeah, I run the morimoto H1's and they're great. Using morimoto bulbs and ballasts too (bought it all as a kit) at 5000k. I might get a video up. I have an e46 and installation was easy, no splicing shit, but it might be different for the grand prix. Still shouldn't be hard though. I'd check out over at hidplanet and read posts there. Someone there has probably done a retrofit on a GP.

  • @pointerisnull yeah definitely do a video... would be nice to see a good video, so many people only show what it looks like looking at them but there isnt many of people driving with them or anything

  • I think you are a little over exaggerating on the brightness. I have 8000k's in my 06 Lancer EVO w/ projectors and I can't see shit. These things are BLUE, and I mean just waiting to get pulled over blue. I'm switching to the 6000's because the 8000k are just ridiculous. I mean, it's my opinion but I'm sure some people coming here would like some different views on them. If you like BLUE BLUE head lights, get these.. if you like vision, get 5000k or 6000k.

  • @mg86ta1 maybe just your car then but with mine you can ask anyone that knows me whose been in my car.. the light projects a rediculous amount of distance down the road, and lights up the edges nicely .. and mine are more white/blue than blue blue but they are 8000k ... so i think the difference in cars and difference in housing design plays a role in the difference between our lights man

  • @rcrocker02 Well, then I guess the conclusion is not all 8000k's are created equal. haha

  • @rcrocker02 Either way its still a shitty glare kit. Either do a retrofit or put halogens in. Your not cool with 8000k. You should have kept your civic if you wanna be a dbag with blue headlights. Its like night and day for the people driving at you too.

  • @srtrcr never owned a civic... and honestly didnt do it to be cool... did it because theyre bright as hell and thats what i wanted.. wanna be a dick? get the fuck off my page till you know what youre talking about

  • @srtrcr btw... ive seen your comments.. you troll anyones page who has HID's just to talk shit... and you say im a douchebag?

  • These are distracting to other drivers. 8000k+ HIDs should be illegal.

  • @LilChnkySkrtn 6000k is even brighter... and if you lived down here youd understand why i have them... when some idiot jaywalks in front of you on a dark road with all dark clothes on and you didnt see them and hit them cause your headlights suck.. yeah you have fun with the prison time from that... id rather my headlights be a little bright to other drivers than end up in prison

  • The retrofit source . com

Google it get a proper retrofit/projectors it will be 10x better..

  • I posted this in my 69 superbee last summer 9.973 @ 137.72 mph in the 1/4 mile.

  • Heres 1/4 mile stats for GTP's off of CLUBGP website..LMAO..Wow one almost made it to 91 mph...Almost...Your confused' 0-60 mph v.s. 1/4 mile drag time...Car companies changed how they advertised them to make them sound faster than they are.

1996 Dark Green 2 door Grand Prix GTP 15.442@90.42 2003 Redfire Metallic 4 door Grand Prix GTP 15.5@85.46 1994 Green 2 door GTP 15.628@89.43 1998 Black 2 door Grand Prix GTP 15.768@87.95 1996 Dark Teal Metallic 2 door Grand Prix GTP 15.89@87

  • Look up 69 superbee dip shit! It was a 10 second 1/4 mile car stock off the showroom. Your terd prick might have a 1/4 mile time of 15-18 seconds...Not talking about 0-60 time like you see yours advertised. Your cunt fused, My Bee does 140mph in a 1/4 MILE = 1320 ft.......Might want to look up your terd pricks times.....Government Motors were always slow as hell!

  • @rcrocker02 thanks! Gonna put some I'n mine

  • Are these 35 or 50 watt?

  • @ballhard365 35 watt, 55 watts was more expensive and these do the job well without being overkill for oncoming traffic

  • @supersanchez1991

Yes, u need a hid kit

  • Have you upgraded your high beam too? if so how do you get the to level?

  • @eplace3293 no on this car its all one bulb, the only way to do the high beams is to get bi-xenons which is pretty much twice the money, but for me i found i never even need high beams so i didnt bother with buying the bi-xenons.

  • @rcrocker02 the cop is adick in new york an vermont

  • 6000ks ftw. Slightly blue but makes the road look so white

  • What brand?

  • @wirthparkskater HID country

  • @rcrocker02 CAN THE BALLAST BE CONTROL

  • @shane5076 there isnt any special control for the ballast, theyre either on or off, if you have a bi-xenon setup then you get a high beam/low beam feature but that works with the stock controls.

  • @rcrocker02 is it blinding

  • @rcrocker02 IS IT ILLEGAL

  • @shane5076 technically any modification you do to your vehicle that is not a stock OEM factory replacement part is considered illegal, i havent had cops say ANYTHING about any vehicle ive ever had with HID's. this really depends on the area you live in and how strict they are about it, as well as whether or not the cop is a dick, if he is hes gonna write you a ticket for every modification he can charge you with

  • @rcrocker02 i got a ticket in new jersey for high beam

  • @shane5076 that sux.. lol i havent had a ticket for anything regarding my lights ...ever... but also they tend to be really tolerant of it down here cause they see it so often AND because of the pedestrian jaywalking problem down here at night

  • Are these 35w or 55w

  • @frosty9595 35w

  • hahah Name brand hids lol fuck that hids are hids simple as that.

  • @supralover93 So far from the truth, you get what you pay for.......sadly I've never heard of his ballasts. Mine have worked for threee years no issues, his won't last that long

  • @Clipzin33 plenty of people around here have heard of them, and coming up on 2 years without even the slightest problem so far, and have only heard of good things about this brand so far... so i think im fairly safe.. but we'll see, not saying there isnt better brands out there, but i am saying that at least these ones are shit that goes out every year like youre making them sound like

  • Your worried about trying to cut time in a race by removing headlights? LOL..If your worried about speed you should by a faster car than a grand prick....I never lost a race in over 18yrs in my 69 Superbee and never took parts off to win. You need to get rid of that terd and get something with 660hp like me...See ya at the finish line, I'll be the one eatin popcorn that I popped while waiting on you...lol My wife's maxima even smokes government motors cars.

  • @SUPERBWON obviously you dont know shit about grand prix's... try racing one of those 8 second gtp's or even a 10 second one.. removing the intake isnt necessary it just simply helps when your intake is right behind it, and any true racer will do whatever it takes to prepare for a race when using a street car. superbees are nice, but ill believe you have one when you post some videos of it. never understood people like you that gotta talk shit about everyone elses shit just to feel better

  • question... do i have to get the high low beams from my prix of can i just get the regular 9007 do u know?

  • @gagasmeatdress its just a regular 9007... if you want high/low beams then buy the bi-xenon kit

  • Look good, I'm fitting 8000s to my //s /type Jag this week :)

  • @Covenanter62 nice.. should post some vids of it, should look pretty good on a jag. s-types got a style all their own

  • the higher you go in Kelvin (color), the less Lumen (brighness) you'll have.. fwiw

  • @kstonexd9mm precisely

  • i had mine for 2 years and never ever got pulled over and i had led interior lights

  • you're going to get pulled over

  • @XDanny45 around here youre ok as long as you dont have extremely blue or purple or yellow colored headlights.. blueish white or white..and youre safe....it varies from area to area. here bright lights are good cause you can see all the idiots who dress in all dark clothes and stand around in the middle of the streets at night in dark areas and you cant see them until last second with normal lights. thats why the cops are usually cool with it here

  • @rcrocker02 Yeah them blacks are hard to see at night !!

  • @XDanny45 no hes not. a cop will look at these like an aftermarket muffler on a car......in other words they wont care, unless you have purple, green, deep blue, etc on like a 75 watt ballast.

  • @XDanny45 What crappy city do you live in that a cop will actually pull you over because of a slight blue hue on your headlights?!?!

  • try a darker road dumbass

  • @slayer4716 lol.. it doesnt get much darker than this in tampa bay... ... im not driving a hour away to get to a dark enough road to satisfy everyone on here, i have another video with a slightly darker road but thats about it for this area. might wanna consider that before you go insulting people on their own page, just makes you look like a dick

  • Hey, I need some help. I just bought projectors that have a blue lens. If i put an 8000K HID into it, how blue would the light come out? Thanks.

  • @smashtennis well it depends how blue the lens is, but the 8000k isnt extremely blue, your lens might even make a 6000k appear quite blue depending how blue they are. you could always buy and try... MOST places have return policies that you could simply exchange them for a lower temperature if you didnt want them to be too blue. make sure tho before you buy them

  • @smashtennis hey even if you get 4300k bulbs, in due time they will eventually fade to somewhere between 5 and 6k. If you get 8k and have a blue lense in a year they will look terrible like your trying to play need for speed or something. dont make your car into a toy, get white headlights

  • 8000k are too blue with not a great lumen output...

  • i just ordered 8k conversion kit and now im afraid if i get a ticket once there on. but i have aftermarket projectors, will that make a difference?

  • @sejfiu100 yeah it gives you a sharp cutoff at the top if theyre a good projector kit, and itll place the beam on the road nicely. though SOME projector kits seem to do a poor job of this, so hopefully it works nicely on your kit. good luck!!

  • @rcrocker02 thank you for your reply and advice.

  • fog lights are for fog they are annoying specialy on trucks when they go down the road with them on all the time. They light the road up under the fog so you can see they are not driving lights for normal use.

  • 8k is sick wit it I got some on my 2000 si rhd

  • So I have a civic with only one light bulb on each headlamp. I know there's cars out there with two on each headlamp. What hid kit would I need to get for my kind of set up? Like I would want 6500k bulbs. With 50 watts being low and 55 watts being high. What do you recomend?

  • @D16z6king actually it doesnt split the wattage when you go high beam/low beam, you get whats called bi-xenons and then you have high and low beams because it simply puts the light in a different part of the bulb so that it reflects at a higher angle than the low beams, therefore casting it farther down the road. bixenons are more costly though so be ready for that.

  • They look nice man! What's the wattage?

  • @D16z6king 35W theyre HID country which right now is having a sale on their website.

  • These lights dont disable opposing drivers, it only discomforts them hense making these legal. I have 8000ks and thats as far as I would go....any higher and a cop WILL PULL U OVER for the bluish tint. I even have leds on my rear plate and I have no issue. Also if ur on the freeway at night and theres slow drivers in front of you they get out of ur way most the time

  • Hey are xenon hid bulbs good? and where can I get some good hid bulbs 8000k

  • @crossdatb0i just bulbs are only imitations of the color, and dont actually have any true brightness to them, youll want a kit with ballast, true HID lights, theyll include true HID bulbs that require ballast to work.

  • @crossdatb0i oh and as far as where you can get the real ones, you can find them many places, but i have a link in the description area above... HID country is the kit that i have.

  • you dont blind the people in front of you with this light?? i am curious just to see if i will get em or not depending on if it blinds does in front thanks =]

  • UPDATED INFO AT THE BOTTOM OF DESCRIPTION, I WENT AND SEARCHED FOR THE KIT I HAVE ONLINE AND FOUND IT... wow i really did save a good bit of money off the cost.. anyways yeah thats the kit i got

  • @rcrocker02 And do you know what's legal and what's not?

  • @SuperSUBcentral technically since our cars werent designed with factory hid's theyre all illegal, but cops usually wont say anything especially if you have them aimed properly so youre not shooting the beam into everyones eyes

  • Ok, I've been thinking about some hid lights. I have NO idea what to get. What would you recommend? I want the blue tint, but still with great brightness. Can you tell me what kit/bulbs I should get?

  • @SuperSUBcentral ok 6000k is really bright but is pure white, 8000k like mine has a slight blue tinge to it but is still extremely bright, any more than 8000k and it loses a lot of brightness as you add more blue to it. the ones i have are HID country, theyre a true plug-n-play kit meaning i dont have any relays or anything, i have only the ballast and the bulbs. relay kits arent bad, just more complicated to set up and install. plug-n-play kits are by far the easiest, be sure to aim them too

  • @rcrocker02 Thanks! Can you send me a link to a kit you would recommend? Or just the bulbs.

  • I LIKE THE PART WHERE HE DRIVES AND TALKS

  • whats the average price of HID lights?

  • that is a great color

  • Question everyone, I bought a complete kit that shipped with 5000k bulbs and had the perfect amount of a slight blueish color that was able to pick up road markings and signs very easily. But when I ordered the same 5000k replacement bulbs the color seemed more white to yellowish. Now I want to order another set that had more of the same color of the original bulbs. Which would be more of the original color bulbs, the 6000k or 8000k? HELP!

  • how do u know if u need a relay kit or not?

  • @M0nst3r18 most kits that need relay kits will include them, you can also ask the seller, but also if youre having issues with them, in many cases i hear a relay solves most issues.

  • @rcrocker02 ok thanks a lot

  • do you recommend 8k or 6k witch one is brighter?

  • @premierskateboarding honestly ive seen both in person on various vehicles and theres not much difference in the brightness... but the 8000k just has a slightly blue tinge to it, without losing any brightness like 10000k does, 10000k adds so much blue that it actually has less light output

  • @rcrocker02

and when i purchus it would i put high behm or low behm what do you have ?

  • @premierskateboarding theyre just one bulb in the main headlight housing, if you get regular HID itll only have low beam, high beams turn them off actually... if you get BI-xenon HID's then youll have low and hi beams but at pretty much twice the cost.

  • @rcrocker02 some relay kits allow hi/low usage with one bulb.

  • @Hbryant188 oh im not saying that there arent kits that do that or anything, but im saying that kits that are quality kits that can do it definatly arent cheap like some of these kits you see online, for a truly good set

  • can you try to find a country road with no street lights?

  • @provehito44 lol i actually know of a road in town thats super dark but has reflectors on the road that might show just how far down the road they aim

  • @provehito44 ok got a video ill be posting later tonight.

  • OMG, these are soo much better than your previous video. I just updated to a silverstar ultra, at 4000K, its a better over the stock however i live in nyc so sometimes its hard to tell if my lights are even on, i plan on getting new bulbs at 8000K at least. I'm doing this on my jeep GC.

  • In the UK we're not allowed to fit them to a car without projector units, self levelling devices and high pressure washer jets - so a lot of work. That needs to be declared as a modification or your car insurance is invalid. Police can tow the car away too. HIDs *ARE* a million times better as I had them on another car, so why don't manufacturers see it as a safety feature and fit them to all cars? My next car is going to have them on as normal bulbs are like candles fitted to the bonnet!

  • Ever been stopped for these??

  • @mysrt4303 nope... cops around here dont seem to care to much about them unless you got a bunch of other shit done to your car... i admit i like the look of these but honestly the only reason i even have hid's is to see really good at night, too many jaywalkers down here that are dark skinned, wearing dark clothes... nothing reflective...and dont care if theres a car coming... cant see them at night until your about to hit them and its too late.. and yet in this state its still your fault

  • @rcrocker02 you must live somewhere in the south i'm assuming lol but thats cool that you dont get bothered much for them because here in Denver, co cops are some fuckin pussys and only look for something to pull you over for

  • @mysrt4303 yeah, florida, cops only really mess with you for them if you were already doing something else that you shouldnt be. plus as i said we have a bit of a jaywalker problem down here, someone so dark with dark clothes that they cant be seen until youre about 10 feet from them going 45 mph.. by then its too late.. with these bad boys in, i can see them WAY down the road.

  • @rcrocker02 haha next time you should throw your hi beams on and throw like a soda or somethin at them jaywalkers

  • is that the name of the brand "hd country"? i like them cause the beams are all together

  • maybe i missed it, what kinda car are these in?

  • @c0uchsl0uch 2000 pontiac grand prix gtp coupe

  • Where did you buy the bulbs and what company makes them.

  • @MrBigBoiCook i get them through a friend of mine whose a private HID dealer, they're 8000K HID country plug and play.

  • looks like your camera was actually focussing on the steering wheel. lol Looks good.
