My top 10 of best Bond themes: 1. Live and Let Die 2. Goldeneye 3. You Know My Name 4. Die Another Day 5. Goldfinger 6. The Living Daylights 7. You Only Live Twice 8. The Man with the Golden Gun 9. Moonraker
id have to disagree. this song has every characteristic that Bonds songs had. its titled after the name of the movie, it continues the strong brass features of other songs, and features heavy and sweet sides.
the features of this song continue what the 60s songs had. most every song after this didnt do that as well.
Sheriff J.W. Pepper: There's that son of a bitch. I got him.
[to Bond]
Sheriff J.W. Pepper: What are you? Some kinda doomsday machine boy? Well WE got a cage strong enough to hold an animal like you here!
Felix Leiter: Captain, would you enlighten the Sheriff please?
State Trooper: Yessir. J.W., let me have a word with ya. J.W., now this fellow's from London England. He's a Englishman workin' in cooperation with our boys, a sorta... secret agent.
What is there that old bonds do and new bonds don't? I think that New bonds are way to serious these days. I mean I'm am only 11, but I grew up watching Goldfinger and Golden eye! These days bonds are just like any other movie. Too much special effects and bad story line. Craig just takes it way to serious. I want the old formula back!!!!!!!!
i remember sneaking down the stairs to watch this intro , i believe it was 1976 or 1977. yes it was on the tv . i have been a bond freak ever since . im age 45 now.
Love this song. One of my favourite Bond themes...and Danny Craig isn't a bad Bond, he just needs to inject a bit of Roger Moore lightheartedness into proceedings then I reckon all the dissenters would be pacified. Qof S was a po-faced drag of a movie which would have been improved no end with a bit of near the knuckle banter and a quip or two. I hope the producers realise that 007 was never meant to be taken THAT seriously!
@badoman1 yup. they fucked up the new star trek movie in the same way. nobody has a fucking attention span anymore and the film and music industries capitalize on it.
@hadoenough So in other words, Craig's Bond is a blunt instrument wielded by the British government and is otherwise unspectacular. That's exactly the character Ian Fleming created.
Decent video, cool song, but it was one of the worst Bond films. Hardly any real plot, wobbly characterizations, so-so acting, and the stupidest death scene of any villain. The blaxploitation content makes it severely dated. I don't understand why some folks love it but oh well, no accounting for taste. To me, there's just so little to like about this movie.
the music ,the fact that it shows bond of the era and a cool speedboat chase. Its just raw movement from scene to scene without excess and proved bond could be taken to a new decade.that y people love it
if u want to watch a bond movie thats just raw energy id def recommend this 1.i think this is the feeling quantum tried to emulate but it didnt quite work out (too many un bond extras)
of course it fits 00 . what on earth are you on? you only have to hear the instrumentals when Bond is tied up with solitaire to realise its great Bond music. Its a superb theme and one of the best Bond songs ever
I think this can fit Bond- but not MOORE's Bond; he was more light and sort of a tongue-in-cheek kind of guy, and a "playful" ladies' man... "Nobody Does It Better" suits the Moore Bond better.
This sounds more like Craig, or Dalton... maybe even Brosnan, though I don't think it fits his Bond too well either.
This intro is one of the best of all bond fils! The film itself is also good, except for the part when Mr. Big eats a air a capsule and inflates. Who has seen it knows what I'm talking about.
At the end Bond and his newest girl are travelling by train. After Bond kick's out a unwanted guest the camera shows the front of the locomotive. There sits Baron Samedi, god of the death. The way that guy laughs...
It's symbolical. No mather JB will go, the death will follow him.
Beautiful, fortune-telling Solitaire is the prisoner of Mr. Big — master of fear and artist in crime. James Bond has no time for superstition — he knows that this criminal heavy hitter is a real threat. More than that, after tracking him through the jazz joints of Harlem to the Caribbean, 007 has realized that Big is one of the most dangerous men that he has ever faced. And no-one, not even the mysterious Solitaire, can be sure how their battle of wills is going to end...

Tee-Hee: There are two ways to disable an croc, you know.
James Bond: I don't suppose you'd care to share that information with me?
Tee-Hee: One way is to take a pencil and stick it in the pressure area above its eye.
James Bond: And the other way?
Tee-Hee: Oh, the other way is twice as simple. You just stick your hand in its mouth... and pull its teeth out! Heh, heh

Eddie: Boy, where you been all your life? That there's one of them new car-boats.
