  • @assou3l3 I would suggest visiting the website Contrails Aviation Photography. Go to the Spotting Guides section and select YUL. There will be a map showing you the most popular spotting locations.

  • 767-300

  • YUL is a good airport that is growing thought beside toronto airport its very small.

  • Those embraer 170's are sexy

  • Embraers are awesome! So comfy and much nicer than CRJs.

  • 6:08 The A380 is Awesome!

    When was that in Montreal?

  • I came in October of 2007. I don't remember the exact dates.

  • what airline is at 6:04?

  • It's actually not an airline. It's an A310 from the Republique Francaise (the French government).

  • 3:42, there's fighter jets are YUL?

  • There are no fighter jets actually stationned t YUL. YUL get's the odd CF-18 or Alpha Jet mostly as a refuelling stop.

  • Great Pictures.

I also saw the 727 From First Air.

  • DUDE!!!!! u do know most of those pics are famous right?!

  • Virgin has flights to Montreal?

  • No they do not. This was an ex Air Canada 767 that was being transferred to Virgin Nigeria. The re-painting of the aircraft was done locally which is why it was seen at YUL in Virgin colours.

  • All my friends on Saturday night chill at a place called fifty fifth and watch the planes. Is this it?

  • Most of the pictures seen here are from the parking lot at the end of 55th avenue so this may be the same place.

  • what airline is it at 4.20 or is a private plane

  • Yes, it's a privately owned 737-200. This one is owned by the mining company Falconbridge.

  • Toronto Pearson is bigger and has more flights. Even bigger airlines than pierre Trudeau.Toronto holds about 30 000 000 a year and continues to grow. But pierre is beutiful too

  • Yes, there was a larger PAX load for a few of the summer flights which required a larger aircraft.

  • since when did swiss operate the a340 to montreal

  • Swiss usually operates a A330-200 to Montreal. They exceptionnally sent an A340 a couple of times last year.

  • i know they usually operate the a330. i went on it! but did they send the a340 becuse of the large pax load?

  • Lots of great pix! I didn't know, however, that several airlines flew/fly to Montreal: JAL (1:20), ATA (1:37), Virgin (2:17), TACA (2:40), LTU (4:27), and Cook (5:33). Are we having a renaissance? There are also a few I don't recognize: the blue-and-white MD11 at 1:50, the blue-and-white 732 at 4:20 (it's not Air Inuit, First Air or Canadian North), and the red-white-and-blue A310 at 6:03. Can anybody help identify these?
  • To answer your questions (part 1):

JAL - only come in October to bring passenger to watch the fall colors

ATA - special charter, they usually come for the Grand Prix

Virgin - actually a former Air Canada bird being taken over by Virgin Nigeria. She was repainted at YUL.

TACA - this is actually Cubana, they do offer regular flight to and from YUL

  • Part 2:

LTU - this aircraft was diverted from YYZ due to bad weather in Toronto

Cook (Thomas CooK) - Operate regular flighs during the summer

MD11 - World Airways, special charter flight

Blue & White 732 - private aircraft operated by Falconbrige, they are a mining company in the north

Red-White-Blue Airbus - belongs to the french government, this was a refuelling stop.

  • Wow....a nicely-written and detailed explanation

to all 9 queries -- all in one shot.

I never expected that. That's impressive.

Thanks for the reply, nevermind how fast you were.

How do you know so much,

particularly about things like the JAL, Virgin and LTU?

  • It's awesome! 5 stars!

  • I GO THERE EACH WEEK END

  • I see you got Air Creebec, I almost forgot they go to YUL.. I've got a bit of video of them in Northern Ontario.

  • 6:06-6:15... That must have been so awesome to see a real A380 in person...

  • Great! Must have been exciting seeing that A380 there...

  • vraiment vraiment .....bon travaille!!!!!!
