  • Jebus Christ - $500,000 for a four bar loop? I don't care HOW much slicing and splicing you do to a sample...that's just ridiculous.

I also like how he's talking about all these styles of music...yet it's the _original_ artists' style, he just samples them. It's funny to me when beat guys confuse actual creating chord harmonies and melodies with slicing a sample as something similar.

  • Just Blaze is cool as fuck. He is just the kind of guy I like to see succeed.

  • Just Blaze eating the Box @4:34

  • check me out for hot vocals and smooth mixing and mastering.. thanks.. Chris Ray

  • lmao at the asthma thing

  • Thanks Just, for keeping it real Fam.

Many young ''want to be'' producers find out late in the game that it's not all big fast money.

Keep plugging truth my brother, love your stuff.

Great interview (Ms. Drama,) keep it going.

    Peace & blessings.

  • Is that your cab behind you

  • Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Just Blaze, Kanye West, Premier, Pete Rock, Dilla....are the only truly money making producers. Polo the Don and all them C- grade producer need to be quiet.

  • @trooper40below you forgot RZA

  • @anonymousQ45 True dat...Rza tight!

  • @trooper40below polo the don is not a c grade producer...If you have 10 top 1- on bilboard hot 100 in a year you are not a c grade producer

  • @nyakzn18 Just because you have a song in the top 10 doesn't make you a good producer. Polo The Don is C grade producer. A third tier producer. He's not creative. He's one of those i got to make something thats going to be heard on the radio instead of just being a real creative dope producer. Polo The Don is one of the last producers I'll work with.

  • @trooper40below hmmm i guess so..but at the end of the day producers gotta eat....I just think its hard to call a producer c grade when they've had 10 top 10s in one year....but I hear ya fam

  • nigga leave that ugly ass hat alone

  • I love that last part, so true

  • MA NIGGA RIGHT HEREEEEE

  • also I don't agree with Just Blaze when he said there all going to be owned by white people in 5 years or whenever

    more like Hispanics

don't get white people confused with Hispanic people, it is Hispanics who are starting to dominate America, not white people, and I'm not saying that's a good thing either.

  • @Posthuman7 I cant believe you just said that, where do you live, Mexico? White people control the world my friend and all of America. Hispanics may win a mayor's job but I doubt any higher than that.

  • Yo I need some criticism on my work check my page

  • Ms. Drama sucks ass. She sounds really unprofessional, learn to do an interview, hood rat.

  • @locoxriver If she sounds like a hoodrat to you, you've never been to a hood. Is Barbara Walters more your speed?

    Good interview.

  • @locoxriver everyone's gotta learn somewhere

  • @locoxriver yeah man and her voice is fucking annoying

  • @locoxriver I disagree. I think she has a good style of doing interviews. If the pitch of her voice bothers you, that's one thing, but she is asking good questions.

  • danja the dopest :)

  • that nigga is a BEAST on that MPC!!!

  • is he talking about timbaland and dre?

  • Scott Storch got $250,000 for that Chamillionaire song "Turn it Up"

    Result: Billboard hot 100 #41

Then Chamillionaire made "Ridin'' with producers Play-N-Skillz for $4000

Result: number one everywhere + a Grammy!

It doesn't matter if you have a big name producer, as long as you got the best beats and best music written & recorded.

  • @waytoogangsta And turn it up was a "cookie-cutter" #1 record too it wasnt even like it was a bad song, "Ridin' was just an original type of record!

  • @waytoogangsta actually scott storch got a million to make turn it up.its the first line in the song.

  • @waytoogangsta yea i think it was chamilionaire and Dre

  • @waytoogangsta

True, but in US unknown (but dope) producers lose their rights. Their name isn't mentionned anywhere, it's like they put an other producer's name. And that sucks

  • he speaks the truth!

  • dre and kanye?

  • dude is wearing a hat that represents the fourth of july. wow. need to check some history on the date. i feel what he's saying about white folks moving in gentrified black neighborhoods. if they did it in the south and near west sides of chicago and harlem in new york and milwaukee, they (i.e. whites and blacks with money) can move to wherever they feel safe.

  • a lot of producers are followers now because they dont produce a lot of beats and other produers do them an they get the credit. and 4 da record just blaze got credit 4 show me what u got and that was FIEND beat

  • Wtf man?

  • @boomtomb i would think that he is getting crazy paper for beats...dre is a brand!

  • used to be a legend...but no new beats nowadays

  • crazy? have u heard Exhibit C? he has plenty of joints, he's just not mainstream anymore, he's into making music over making a hit, thats all it really is, plus he's running shit in the techno world

  • What does he have in the Techno world ..

  • @guttaville jay electronica?

  • @spencediggz1 naw just blaze he produced exhibit c

  • @guttaville I SEE YOU MA NIGGA

  • @guttaville You clearly don't know what techno is.

  • @Mickeus no you clearly don't know his history and or work.

  • @mefilmmaking Shut up you fucking moron I listen to Techno music and I have been for years.

  • @Mickeus But don't know the producers, ignoramus. 1 ad-hominiem for another ad-hominem.

  • @mefilmmaking That makes no sense, you lost buddy.

  • @Mickeus You said you listen to techno.... I SAID but YOU don't know the producers (who create the records). Is that clear enough.... pity the babbling fool who "listen(s) to Techno music and I have been for years".

  • @mefilmmaking LMAO you lost man. How can you possibly say that I don't know any djs when you never asked me.

  • @Mickeus only a youtube n00b finds a discussion a BATTLE. and you have trouble comprehending what you read. in the techno world.... there are djs who are signed to labels and who make personal albums. PRODUCERS create and collab w/ djs and TECHNO artist... to eventually make a song/ album. There's no winners or losers...lol. grow up wanker.

  • @mefilmmaking HAHAHAH God you are so American. The djs are the ones producing music, them djing is how they make their money because techno is underground, it always has been and always will be. If you took 10 seconds out of your life to check you would see I have 3 videos of me at different night clubs watching 3 totally different world famous djs/groups play. You will also find I have a wide variety of artists and songs in my favourites. I don't have time to argue with with idiots.

  • agreed

  • @2much2teach yeah bro i not going bash on you but exibit c is the hotest beat to freestyle by jay electronica every rapper is freestyling to it

  • buy property in the ghetto, then wait 5 years for the ricch white people to get there and they will buy your shit because they think that its "exotic" or so they can feel sofisticated enough to understand black culture. lol

  • @ichigochains, how about u build a house and not put ur hands in the other man's pockets.

  • the part when he said that there are more beat makers than producers? look back to the history of hip hop. it was the BEAT. everything revolved around the break beat. that's hip hop. now what we try to do with beat making is to evolve the break beat or something with a break beat feel and make a whole song out of it. simplicity. producing to me is when you get all kinds of musicians and singers and get a big recording budget, engineers etc. hip hop is beat making. it's all about the BEATS!!!

  • yes brother you took the words out my mouth , I will like to add my opinion on beats , well i first will like to say if the record doesnt have a good beat then i personaly dont wanna listening to it. And most of the music artist i like now , i can honeslty say i like em because they know what beat to rap over. Like Jay-z i enjoy his albums so much because i wanna hear the next hot beat.

  • @clevaclay

But they were producing music. Not just making a beat. They didn't just make beats, they produced music. They created.

  • @clevaclay to me producing music is like the mastering process as well as a producer- often a beat maker as well is into the sound and hes like supervising the whole song.. look at timbaland or pharrell williams f.e., they both are that sort of producers.

  • @Vitacius i feel what just blaze is saying, i make beats and i would like to work firsthand with the artist and turn the knobs and things. i'd rather get a few beats off for at least 4 digits, then i would seek beat placements for the residules and w/e royalties i could collect.

  • @clevaclay

i really don't understand what people are talking about when they say they are "making a beat"

    what is "making a beat"?

do they mean they are making a song, or what?

why do people call songs beats?

the only part of the song which is the beat - is the drum track

everything else in the song is other instruments

so why do people call songs beats?

  • @clevaclay

are people saying that they only make the drum track to the song - and then let some other person/people/musicians come and make the rest of the song/instruments?

  • @Posthuman7 a beat maker can be in his bedroom or basement. understand? there is a difference. a real producer actually handles more than a beat maker. such as song direction. vocal organization of the singers. etc. does this answer your question? a producer doesn't always make music. a beat maker does.

  • @clevaclay

    so is Just Blaze

a producer or a beat maker

    or both?

and - you say you have the Producer, and then all the musicians and singers etc,

but - who actually writes/composes the songs?

  • @Posthuman7 both.... he produced for MJ, for goodness sake.

  • @clevaclay

    like Quincy Jones for example

the difference with him is that

he actually MADE the music then told the musicians to play it

but with someone like Jay Z -

who is the person who MAKSE the music?

i.e the person who sits down with a keyboard and some other instruments or whatever, and either makes up the song//tune or composes the music

  • @Posthuman7 ahh... not all the way true. Jay-z picks songs/beats just like the rest. He may give a few pointers here there but that's about it.

  • @clevaclay

it just doesn't make any sense

  • @clevaclay

    for example

    Just Blaze -

as "producer" - what does he do?

does he actually make the ENTIRE songs up from scratch -

i.e - does he create all the music himself with the all the instruments

    or what?

  • @clevaclay

also with people like Jay Z and Timbaland

    they call themselves "producers"

    but how are they "producers"

    what do they "produce"?

again - do they actually make ANY of the MUSIC themselves?

    are they actually musicians?

or do they just pay musicians to make up music/songs for them - and then just simply write lyrics to the music/songs?

  • @Posthuman7 we say making beats because it's an art form. drum machines samplers and synths. just because a song says produced by so and so doesn't mean that person made the beat. he could of bought the exclusive rights to it. sort of what p-diddy and dr. dre do sometimes. producer can also mean the person who got all the singers and musicians together, booked the studio time, and then paid everyone for their services at the end of the day. quincey jones is a producer.

    get it?

  • @clevaclay AY WHAT DIS NIGGA SAIS GOES NIGGA

    CUZ WHAT I SAY GOES

    SO FUCKIN

    LISTEN TO THIS NIGGA

    OR FUCK WITH ME NIGGA

  • It's sad we have people who don't realize the U.S. is not going to recover from this collapse. If he buys those buildings and wait 5 years, he will be throwing his money down the drain. The people that he thinks will buy, will be leaving the country.

Real Estate is the worst investment you can make now, better buy Gold & Silver Just Blaze, the dollar is done!!!!!!!!!!

  • nah sorry you're wrong traynickel the people that he thinks will buy won't leave the country... where are they gonna go to fix their problems? lol where ever they went wouldnt be much better than here

  • they are buying property in Paraguay, Cayman Islands and Costa Rica. When they close the banks, how nice will the neighborhoods be then.

  • Thats kind of scarey to say, I guess all good things must come to and end , even country's , well I cant really say the U.S. is really good i mean this land and everything in it was stolen, so maybe this is it. Shit the only way i can see a recover is we will have to go to war and take over something else , but at the same time we cant even afford another war. lol

  • ROME ended the same way, with their Military spread all over Europe, while at the same time devaluing their currency. The next strike will be on a Saudi Arabian Oil Facility. They will blame it on Yemen, but as we know it will be "Blackwater (U.S.) doing the dirt.......

  • @traynickel Fuck outa here. you have no idea what you are talking about.

  • @roydizle I must have struck a nerve, since I made those comments 4-5 months ago. You see the shit I was talking about unfolding in front of your fuking eyes. You can run but you can't hide. Check the foreclosure rate and check to see how many people are on food stamps, Case Closed!
