  • It is monkey business to insist on the Korea samurai and martial arts without a Korean having existed.

It is a fact that Korea was a dependency of Chinese 明、清 for a long time in 李氏朝鮮 Korea.

There are not society background and the base which there is a samurai.

I want you to wake from shameful Korea clown.

It is only a monkey clown.

  • There were 李氏朝鮮 Korea 500 years in a Confucian country.

A civil officer was high-end in action in Confucianism, and the military officer was inferior.

The military officer was looked down upon, and the martial arts became outdated.

It is strange that Korea martial arts without a social background imitate a Japanese style samurai.

It is only a monkey clown.I want you to wake from shameful Korea clown.

    あと、朝鮮武道なのに何で日本刀使ってるの??

  • 武藝圖譜通志Muye Dobo Tongji (1790) : Comprehensive Illustrated Manual of Martial Arts in Korea .

[It is an official document at a Korean Dynasty, written by The Korean King order in the 18th century]

Archery was the only martial art that had been practiced by Korean soldiers. They have no skills of sword or spear fighting.

  • Haidong Gumdo is Korean business.

  • @sakura0jp0aikidodesu You wouldn't know the difference between a kitchen knife and a katana, because you are a faceless, nameless coward who posts anonymously and has no Kendo experience or credentials to even be qualified to post here.

  • @pomminsu hi,James san. i found your old comment to me. the difference of kitchen knife and Katana,i guess its same. the peaceful age of Edo era(江戸時代),the craftsmen of katana changed to product kitchen knife. its made from same material tamahagane(玉鋼). don't you know the history of Kuniyuki(國行) in Sakai city? hocho (包丁) for maguro, its strongest weapon than katana. then fishermen and chef are modern Samurai.

  • @sakura0jp0aikidodesu Please show your real face, real name, or don't bother speaking to me. You said sick disgusting things to me and you are going around hiding. It is not worth my time to deal with coward who can say sick things like that but doesn't even have courage to show your real face or show your real name like I do. You do not even have the right to call my name.

  • @pomminsu hi,i had talked to you i received threaten letter, then i afraid to show my real name and face on youtbube since i am a woman, but you require me again and again. you aid and abet, also be committing a crime. i send some mails about you to AZ education committee. i have written my real name and up on my blog. pls check the label of tea ceremony sado(茶道), you can see my real face and find my real name.

  • @pomminsu by the way i recently enjoy to watch korean history drama in TV or DVD, i find that korea had not haven the iron kitchen knife even in royal court kitchen till 1910,amalgamated by japan. they had only stone kitchen knife like primitive age. moreover they didn't have iron agriculture tools. fork and spade were wooden,

  • @pomminsu since korea was colony of China till 1895 treaty of Shimonoseki 下関条約, then they had been controlled to product materials strictly ,and been placed high tax by china. also had aim to prevent the farmers revolts. so they had a few yield amount, many starving in every years. they couldn't eat rice till japan introduced improved seedling which was resistant to cold, they ate Koryan only.

  • @pomminsu developed martial art is needed time and money surprisingly, you realize on your business. needed peaceful times and enough foods, not war-torn. starving korean couldn't study the martial arts. i checked the articles of cultural anthropology and will up on my blog, read them.

  • @centraltheorem2076 Funny that you mention Moo Ye Do Bo Tong Ji since sword forms practiced in Haidong Gumdo are listed in it such as Ssang Soo, Yedo, Bonguk, etc. Clearly practiced before Japanese occupation. Also Moo Ye Do Bo Tong Ji only lists arts practiced by the military, not monks or common people such as Ship Pahl Ki, Taekyon, Soo Bahk Ki, etc...

  • don't cut news paper by Katana any more, since it will be rusty.

your mother had not taught that you should use two different scissors for paper or cloth. Korean curse Katana.

  • Gumdo can cut paper, but Iaido(居合道) can cut paper and sword both.

    This is funny dance.

  • Haidong Gumdo is not a historical existence. Please check Wikipedia. Europeans and Americans who are not familiar with Asian culture do not know that. Asian people know that Haidong is created by copying samurai swordmanship. First of all, they should not use samurai swords. if they are proud of their own country's culture.

  • @centraltheorem2076 Koreans created the curved sword before the japanese but the curve historically comes from india. For demos like these gumdo has to use katanas because people dont make korean swords for some reason. When Japan invaded Korea they saw the curved sword and tried to copy that. They typically took korean ideas and created their own style of swords and their own fighting styles.

  • @inthetoilet4456 Archery was the only martial art trained by Korean soldiers. Muye Dobo Tongji records the fact. In addition, there is no historical documents that evidences samurai sword making technique is influenced by Indians. We East Asians share almost all historical records. Please stop telling untruth.

  • @centraltheorem2076 they creat a korean version of the katana but the its difficult. Korean culture was almost totally wiped out by the Japanese occupation so its all slowly being rediscovered. but so much has been lost. I am studying gumdo but its almost just like kempo. I think the original korean art has been lost. i hate the japanese

  • So dynamic, so cool, so awsome:)

  • really smooth cuts

  • that was fukin crazy...=)

whole bunch of mini slashes but no cuts =)

  • wow he cuts through that paper as if it was ... paper?

  • @aikidunk Well, the problem is that your slash has to be very precise and horizontal. It's in fact harder as it looks right now. :P Especially with the wooden practise swords.

  • @aikidunk

being sarcastic or do you not get it? either way, the point of this exercise is to show the skill of the swordsman, not the sharpness of the sword nor the density of the cutting material. even the sharpest blade won't cut anything if it's not used properly. as you can see at 1:12 a mistake was made and the paper TORE instead of separating and falling to the floor effortlessly, as the majority of the cuts did. this shows expertise and execution of the practitioner by cutting correctly

  • @ShadowKrakken i was being sarcastic, gee whizz & i thought the point of the exercise was to cut paper into tiny strips to be used as bottom wipes (thats me being sarcastic again get it).

  • @aikidunk you probably got crap responses like this already but let me explain in case you didn't (if you did sorry)

paper and cloth are used as cutting test targets because freely hanging they are difficult to cut. The katana is one of the few weapons (any weapon made of true Damascan steel should be able to do this too) that can cleanly cut a piece of silk thrown in the air. The point is that the very giving nature of the fabric makes it hard to CLEANLY cut. Anyone can cut it, but not cleanly

  • @elesararwos apology accepted, cheers.

  • @aikidunk provaci te se pensi sia semplice

  • @aikidunk and he could cut you in half as if you were paper =D This guy is an amazing master, he does this as demo, he could......i dont even want to bother on you inconsiderate ass.

  • @pwnd331 yeah its best not to bother it would only make you feel stupid getting upset over a year old cheeky comment & replying to this when you have got better things to do would be childish, all the best ps i hope you enjoyed happyfeet 2.

  • it's actually harder with a sharp sword than a wooden one, because with a sharp one the angle of blade must be exactly right.

  • well, its still not that hard to do with a sharp sword. i guess it just dependas on how experienced you are. :) like this guy has 9 degrees to back up that demo, so yes.

  • So you're saying that something is easy with experience? That's not so much putting the cart before the horse as missing both the cart and the horse and walking off a cliff.

  • WTF?! He cut all those strips of paper like exactly the same width!!!

And is it just me, or is the background music the same as the Metal Gear Solid title screen on PS1?

  • Ive havent had a chance to do this yet we dont get metal swords till a lot later and even then they are blunt ones. Id assume it would be a lot harder to cut and not tear the paper with a blunt sword. He is very skilled. Is that a standard uniform in korea its the same as my masters.

  • No: it is not easy to cut paper with real sword. if angle of cut and blade is even a little different, paper will tear. Try it, it can be very frustrating. Depending of federation, uniform changes: in United World Headong Kumdo Fed, light blue jacket is for 3rd dan, red jacket is for 4th dan and white jacket is for 5th dan and above. In World HG Fed. it is masters-uniform. In this video, Master Han is probably using triangular sword, which is better for paper cutting than normal jingum.

  • @vayrynenfi it's very easy to cut paper

  • my master taught me this with a wooden sword. it's actually easier than it sounds

  • Master Han is great. But: some of cuts would be impossible with bad sword - for example those 45 degrees cuts. I was in this demo, holding the papers. I offered some of our newspapers for him, but he has brought his own newspapers from korea. I am doing a lot newspaper cutting myself and i must say that some cuts would be impossible with different paper and less sharp sword. I think that he uses triangular sword, very good for paper cutting.

  • The paper is the same, regardless of the country, but they do use a three-sided sword rather than the normal six-sided sword. Still, it takes great skill to do this properly.

  • Well... I was there. This paper is pretty thin, not like newspapers here in Finland - where this demo was held. However, Master Han is very great swordsman, and his performances should be appreciated.

  • Yes, we shoukd appreiciate these performances. He is a great swordsman. We shouold all do our own thing, aiming towards this standard.

  • Some of the best paper cutting I've see on YouTube.

  • someone likes metal gear...

  • I KNEW IT!

  • Ok those are soo sharpened if you do it with the unsharpened ones its very impressive but almost impossible to do some of the cuts like the one where he cut the falling strip.....

  • Funnily, it's easy to cut paper with a blunt sword than with the live (sharp, metal) one. Very impressive.

  • MUST BE 1 SHARP SWORD TOP MARKS MATE.

  • Master Han rules! :-)

  • masterful
