This documentary underscored an important observation I have always carried with me, specific to why people worship/believe the way they do.
You can very clearly see this young man's desire to please his mother.
As an adult, he can either act with contrition (and mimic the religious patterns ingrained in him during these formitive years), or he will be forced to "make his way back" through the lies that have been heaped upon him (i.e. the misinformation about Galileo).

I wish people just learned to live life as a human, and stop trying to find some kind of salvation. That is how they get caught up in the dogma of organized religion.. Fearing the Lord is after all much more important than science. The most important thing is that these lucky kids are brought up by God fearing parents. They may later on come to realize that their parents were ignorant of scientific facts, but science isnt a religion (well to Pastor Dawkins sheep it might be) and they were taught something much more important, the ways of the Lord. We are not all into science and need to embrace the gospel of science but we certainly need the gospel of Christ.

Many of the stories in the Bible are meant to be taken as guiding concepts NOT as absolute rules set in stone (not counting, obviously, the ten commandments.. although those are more of an Old Testament thing than a Christian thing<--if you count out the sabbath rule, though we seem to be using it anyhow, most of the time).

Learning about the world around is something which brings me closer to a good path, to what I view God to be. We have logic and faith, each of these, for a reason (if you don't believe in God, then consider faith as equal to the placebo effect)
Jesus had a lot of really good changes to be made which, ironically, we've ruined. (legalistic christians so remind me of the pharisees, lol)

Here's exactly what is wrong with evangelical home school: the problem with the data the mom/teacher gave, is not that the temp has only gone up 0.6degrees, but that the USA is not the global climate. Whether you accept climate science or not the problem with the report in this clip is the generalizability of the data, not the data itself. Yet this mom/teacher was unable to make teach that because she is inherently bias. Should not teach.
2 degree rise in global temp and London goes swimming.
