I don't know if I like this interpretation at all.. sure, it's his rendition and he's free to play however he wants.. but it doesn't do justice for Brahms at all -_- The original has such a grand, majestic, mischievous feel to it and this just sounds silly.

One of the things I enjoy about Mr. Garrett's playing is that it restores "fun" to the music. The composers didn't write it to be this dull, dreary, "oh-so-good-for-you" but dull tripe. They wrote it to be vibrant and very much a part of their times. Mr. Garrett restores that feeling to the classical pieces that I've heard him play and infused them with the same energy that is present in modern music like rock, soul, and blues. That he is such a clear virtuoso only adds to it for me. Love it!

I saw him on PBS show called "Rock Symphony" and while it wasn't true rock but classical music w/ a drummer to pep things up. What was surprising was his outstanding violin playing which was fresh and lyrical. Being a guy, I thought his long hair was a bit distracting, reminding me of chippendale muscle men but I guess that's how he caught girl's attention.

@LonlyBlackHeartedOne The violin is an Stradivarius made in 1718, so it sounds pretty awesome :D He plays a violin by Giovanni Battista Guadagnini from 1772 too, which sounds spectacular in the hands of david. I apologize for my bad English ^_^
