Man I don't even know where to start from. Since you mentioned Messi (I didn't), he scored and assisted a lot in past 2 and a half years against Real Madrid when Ronaldo was also playing and Ronaldo did practically nothing in those games.

Yes he scored in Copa del Rey finals (who cares) and 2008 CL finals (missed penalty) but those were executional head shot goals just like Messi's in 2009 CL finals. Those aren't the kind of goals that they are famous for.

Personally I like the most "must win" games, knock out phase in CL or derbys which deside the national champion.

The thing I didn't like about Messi are the CL semifinals against Chelsea 2009 and Inter 2010, he should make a difference then but he improved himself ever since and last season was his best ever.
